This Hostel is beautifully situated near the Tehai Moais which means that you every evening you can finish your day with a stroll to the island's best "Sunset view". It's close to the museum and horse stables too. We are an active couple who enjoy walking and riding and this was an excellent base for both activities. (Of course, you...

We spent seven nights at this pleasant hostel. Our balcony looked to the west, with a view of the ocean and a moai. Located in the Tahai Sector, this is where everyone goes to see the sunset. It was wonderful being able to come home after dinner, relax, and then just walk a few hundred feet to watch the sun...

We just returned from the Easter Island trip. One of the main reasons of choosing this hotel was the good reviews from Trip Adviser and the proximity to the archeological site. Also, the photos of the property we received from the owner were nice and we received prompt reply on emails. However, it turned out to be the worst choice...

I´ve been in Akapu between 23 - 26 December/08 and one of my doubts it was if the Hostal people was honest (because I did all reservation by fone/net without a travel agency help). At this point I can say there are very good and honest people, so if you want to reserve something just by the fone/net you can...

I stayed in Akapu for two weeks in November. I stayed in a double cabin, even though I have requested single one at 27 000pesos. Leopoldo decided to charge me 37000pesos for "improved breakfast", lift to the airport and shell necklase at my departure. Bfast was very basic and exactly the same as other couple that stayed there had, but...

We enjoyed our stay at Akapu. The family is very friendly, and Maria Teresa is talkative and helpful. (We spoke mostly in Spanish, so we don't know how good their English is.) The "cabin" is a pleasant room, with its own bathroom and a little terrace. We could see the Akapu moai and the sea in the distance. The location...

we spend 7 nights at this lovely place. because we booked early, we had bungalow no. 1 with great views to the sea. the bungalow is huge with bathroom. they cleaned everyday the room, everything was spotless. The breakfast included fresh juices, bread, fruits, bacon&chesse, coffee or tea and sometimes even pancakes! And this is included in the price. The...

Akapu is a great, lovely & highly recommendable place to stay in Easter Island. It is located in the "outskirts" of Hanga Roa, within walking distance from shops, tourist agencies, restaurants & pubs, but at the same time in a quiet spot with awesome views of the seafront, few moais and spectacular sunsets. Teresa, Polo & their sons(a rapa nui/chilean...

We stayed with Polo and María Teresa for just one night due to some unfortunate circumstances (my poor mother fell and broke her ankle -- no one's idea of a fun thing to do while on vacation). But one night was all that they needed to show us an enormous amount of hospitality. Even though they are a little out...

A couple of weeks ago, we came back from Easter Island . We enjoyed the place very much. At, I was a little bit desappointed. I had been to Hawai and the French Polynesia before and I was expecting the beutiful green mountains, lush vegetation, etc . which you do not find in "Rapanui " but the Moais, the archeological...
