We had a wonderful time at Mthazi lodge with our boys. We had a fantastic game drive in the morning. We were unlucky though, we only saw three of the big five, which was disappointing. But we had a great time.

While staying at the Mpila Camp in Umfolozi we travelled through the corridor into Hluhluwe for lunch at Hilltop. A visit time Hilltop is a must anyway but if you have time for lunch, do so. I had a venison curry bunny chow. The curry was superb and for those that haven't come across a bunny chow before, it was...

we stayed in a 2 person chalet at hilltop as our original accommodation at Mpila camp had been fully booked....the place was huge, plenty of room to easily sleep 4 and with lots of amenities....not the comfiest of beds but who can sleep anyway, up at 4 to fake early morning drive to be greeted by monkey....you don't get that...

Hilltop camp was brilliant. Our accommodation was number 48, very accessible, which was welcome as I have some mobility issues at the moment. Housekeeping God, clean towels etc every day. The restaurant food was very good, buffet breakfast with a wide range on offer. Evening meals good, too, with a roast and a curry each evening , plus good soups...

The reserve is fantastic. The lodgings are disappointing and the food options are typical instutional catering. A close copy of school dinners. The game drives are wonderful and well worth while. The management seems to have not grasped the importance of the standards needed to be met to justify the costs charged. We were not self catering but still declined...

Well worth staying here! Beds are massive comfortable rooms, mod cons. Recommend bbq your own food. The buffet dinner is rubbish & service is dreadful! Worth a night safari. Breakfast is very good, beans are amazing with views of the park. Wifi is in reception, but very slow. We experienced more wildlife at the opposite end of hilltops.

Been here 3 times this year already for weekend always and love it every-time. Cant fault anything. The old rooms give it that historical feel. The restaurant is perfectly located with the view of the valley. And of course good old South African cuisine on the buffet.

We spent the nights of 25th / 26th with four friends. As it was our 47th wedding anniversary made the trip even more special. We booked three rondavels which we always enjoy. A special new feature is that air conditioners have been fitted in each unit which were most welcomed. We spent day 1 in the Hluhluwe section and day...

We stayed here for one night in mid September on a Saturday. We turned up without a reservation and were lucky to get a two person chalet. They are not cheap (approx £90) but we were grateful! Hilltop is in a great location at the top of a lovely scenic park where we saw some great wildlife including, thankfully, white...

We booked 3 rooms here for a family visit. The accommodation was OK, rooms were very dark and the bathrooms could do with some updating. We went on a game drive the second day we were there which was excellent. We didn't see a lot of game but our guide was informative and knowledgeable and the park is beautiful. The...
