Chalet was very big with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a large living room, a terrace, ... but not very clean (hair in bathroom, spider webs, dishes, floors,...). Moreover it was the most expensive self catering chalet from all our vacation, so we were expecting much better. Restaurant is offering only a buffet quite expensive, not possible to have a...

We loved our time, we saw 4 of the big 5 plus many other animals. The guides are friendly and knowledge. There is a bar and restraunt which has buffet dinner and breakfast and a light lunch menu. We found the food to be good. The cabins are comfortable with balconys overlooking the reserve. Wifi is only available in the...

We have visited Hilltop many times. We usually stay in self catering but we stayed in the 4 sleeper non-self catering chalet. We were promised an en-suite which we didn't have. The second room was so dank and moldy that I actually had to put the fan on it's highest all day and all night to get the smell out....

Good guide and wonderful experience. The Jeep was hard to climb into for me due to some hip issues, but you can ride in the front. Animals are best seen from the back higher seats. We got the opened Jeeps which were covered from the sun.

We visited the Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve for 3 days and stopped for brunch at the Hilltop camp. The service was non existent, staff no where to be seen and no light meals on the deck were being served until 10am. We had coffee and purchased biscuits from the curio shop (who's credit card machine wasn't working!). Popped into the...

I'm sorry to stay the bungalows are in some serious need of investment. I stayed here 13 years ago and little has changed internally from back then. The location is great and the design and size of the bungalows is good but there was an overwhelming smell of damp which was backed up by blown plasterwork at the skirting board...

We stayed in the a beautiful Hilltop Camp self catering chalet at the end of January 2017 as walk-ins with no reservations. It was a bit dated in style from some of the other Park Facilities, for example Didima in the Drakensburg area but it was wonderful. We did not need the self catering feature as we dined in the...

We had a wonderful time and experience at Hluhluwe game reserve. Our accommodation was lovely apart from some damp paint issues. Number 45 is on the fence and perfect for when we had a male lion roar 50 meters away! The kids loved it and we will be back. Great game viewing and very pretty and scenic self drives. Only...

I went to the game reserve with family who live in South Africa who go on safari quite often so have all the kit. The reserve is vast and we were up very early to drive around. We saw 4 of the big 5 and watched as some lions stalked the buffalo as they crossed the river. If you want...
