Thank goodness I only stayed there one night!! This hotel/lodge was deplorable!! Extremely filthy and wornout, not worth the almost $150/night. The room smelled musty with lots of marks on the walls and furniture. The sheets for the bed were threadbare and the velour blanket had holes and was burned in patches by what I'm guessing was an iron?!?! When...

We stayed here while attending a concert at The Backyard. The location is perfect for that venue. Room/common area/grounds were all very well kept and clean. Even though it is located on a busy road the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Parking at your door. Each room opens to the parking lot and another door opens to pool area....

Vicky was awesome. Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was really great. The swimming pool is also very nice. The hotel is about 25 min from downtown. The area is very beautiful. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable! I will likely return again when I'm in the Austin area.

We stayed here while attending the Formula One race in Austin. We thought downtown would be a mad house (it kind of was) and pretty pricey. The Mountain Star was really nicer than we expected, especially because it was so reasonably priced. When we were given a first floor room (I don't like any first floor rooms), we explained why...

An older, well kept property with a good buffet breakfast that includes home made waffles and sausage. The hotel doesnt have an elevator so if you are on the second floor you wil have to lug your suticase and stuff up a flight of stairs. Each room has a nice balcony that faces inward towards the swimmng pool. The staff...

After reading the negative reviews, I was not expecting much in the way of comfort, cleanliness, personnel, etc., but I was so happy to find that it was a most enjoyable experience. The room was clean as was the rest of the property, the personnel very friendly and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast offered more choices than most. It was...

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Mountain Star and it was 4 nights too long. The property is dated and not very clean. It is overpriced and certainly not updated. There is no on-site maintenance. If you need something fixed good luck with a quick resolution. The first room we were in had a broken door lock....

If you have an issue at this hotel, good luck getting a resolution! They have no maintenance on site! Owner / Manager is not from the south.....no hospitality at all! Rooms are dated, should be priced much lower. Looks like a "rent by the hour" motel! Staff only friendly in beginning, but once they have your $, things aren't so...
