This place is located on big, nice lawn and garden about 15 minutes walk from Port Resolution and 30 minutes drive to the volcano. There are several bungalows, an open air dinning room and scenic views. The place looks great, but you should be aware of what it's like to stay in bungalows on Tanna. Your host will arrange for a truck to pick you up at the airport, it costs $50 USD for a one-way trip to the far side of the island. It's a very slow and bumpy 2 hour drive, but the scenery is spectacular. Tanna is basically a tropical jungle, from coast to coast. There appears to be some road work starting up, so they may soon have paved roads, which will greatly benefit travelers and locals alike. My bungalow was up in a tree, which was cool, but you can feel it sway in the wind, which may be unnerving to some. The ladder up, is quite steep and rickety, so be careful. They will run a generator for a little while in the evening, so you can have some light, but don't forget to bring a good light and batteries with you, it's very important. There was a bucket flush toilet located on the other side of the property. Meals will get made for you at a small price. The hosts are quiet, but friendly and will kind of linger around while you eat. The beds have pillows, blankets and a mosquito net, but understand, there are a lot of bugs here. The mosquito nets had holes all over them, and there were hundreds of little bugs crawling around at night, there was also a giant spider up there as well. I don't think this is out of the ordinary in Tanna, just bring some duct tape to tape up the holes and tuck your net in good. I gave them a new mosquito net, hopefully they've put it to use. If you want to go to the volcano, there is no guarantee you can get a ride, but the host will try to find one for you. The ride to the Volcano will cost about $30 USD, plus another $30 for entry. You might want to wear glasses at the volcano, as it shoots sand and ash in the air and into your eyes. There is no water around to wash it out. In generally, you should bring more water to Tanna than you think necessary. There's a good chance you'll be the only person staying at the bungalows, so don't expect there to be other travelers around to talk to. I don't know where the owners are at night, so you're basically alone out there which is simultaneously magical and somewhat frightening. I wanted to try the traditional Tanna kava, so my host was nice enough to wrangle a local guy to walk me down to the village at Port Resolution. Once you're down there, there are natives hanging out around fires and drinking kava. You can hear the ocean near by, the kava is strong, the stars are plentiful and there's a warm breeze rustling the trees that all culminates in an unforgettable experience. Enjoy.…
