I will always remember the fish brochette it is special, the break fast is pretty basic, the room rather small but reasonable. The closeness to lake Kivu which is rather obstructed, by trees and some buildings you can still catch a breath taking view through the palm fronds of this jewel of a lake!

We literally stopped here just for a short stay before climbing the nyiragongo. I would say you get what you pay for. Nothing fantastic but nothing to complain about. The good things though was the staff were friendly, they washed my car (i gave a small tip), and they let me park the car there an extra night. And it...

I should have crossed the Rwanda border into Congo, but the rain didn't let it happen. The border closes at 18:00. I was, therefore, forced to spend a night in Gisenyi. And thus it was my first and forced encounter with this decent hotel with a beautiful garden. The staff is pretty courteous and showed me around with a smile....

I was staying with a friend in Gisyeni and each day we crossed in the DRC for the day. We were visiting an orphange my friend has been working with and sponsoring. The Hotel was clean and the food was good. The view is beautiful. I will stay there again.

we used this accomm because it was nice and close to the public bus stop but left here after 1 night because we didn't feel that we were getting value nor enjoying our stay. Moving was the best thing we ever did as we found the most amazing hotel i have ever stayed in for exactly the same price. (i'm...

Price is very good ($35 for a simple single), rooms are clean, showers are hot, and location is good. What more can one ask for at this price? If you desire a pool and beach view, why not walk down the beach 2km to the Serena and enjoy those for the day at a fraction of their room rate? Ubumwe...

It is hard to find a hotel that gives you value for your money in Rwanda. It is not a very touristy country (except for the gorillas) but there are quite a few hotels charging quite high rates (it is said to be due to the many NGOs present in Rwanda). Hotel Ubumwe gave us a double room for $50US...

Was fine, very comparable to most church guest houses in the area. Rooms are clean, service was quite good and it is in easy walking distance of other resturants, etc. It is just a few hundred meters from the DRC boarder and two blocks from the lake.

this is a delightful, small hotel with very helpful staff who will attend to your every need. The room was spotless with comfortable bed, and the breakfast was quite good. Good value for the price. An additional pleasure was the little African Grey bird that the staff were training to talk.
