Twiga was far better than we expected. Bed is super comfortable and windows have good mosquito nets - both super important after long day in safari. Like most in this area it has wall surrounding it and gate is closed for anyone except guests and stuff. We arrived in middle of night but late dinner waited for me in room...

I have stayed at Twiga Home twice. It is basic but do you really need somewhere with all the mod cons when there is so much to do and see in Tanzania? The staff are very friendly. The food does take a while to cook but it is fresh. Will be back again.

Twiga home is a really nice Hostel, one of the few places where you hear no noise at night. It was quite a relief after a few days in a hostel in Arusha near the mainroad, so I slept like a baby. From Twiga to city centre it's like a 5 minutes ride with a Taxi, costs around 2$. The...

"Twiga home" Home here means home. It feels like a little family, the staff is really really friendly and helpful, the food is tasty and cooked fresh (that's why it takes a bit longer, but good things take time) the rooms are small and equipped with the basic stuff for sleeping and the daily hygienic stuff. (you are on holiday,...

The place is basic, clean and people are friendly. Food isn't bad either. It is located about 20 min walk to Moshi town. However, I almost didn't sleep: the isolation of the room wasn't great at all and I could hear dogs barking, people walking, talking and laughing etc. I could hear everything basically... I initially planned on staying two...

No people there. I have stayed here for years and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, but there were none. They put tvs in all of the rooms which I don't think is necessary for what they offer. And they put in a public bar... Which ruins the atmosphere. The only thing good was Lydia, Glady, and Julius....

If you are in a budget or a volunteer, this is the best place Moshi has to offer. For people staying longer than 2 weeks there is an available kitchen and refrigerator. The staff is awesome and fun, but you have to initiate the friendships. Private sit down toilets and hot showers in every room provided Moshi has electricity. They...

Good stuff: quiet, with a nice view to Kilimanjaro from their yard on a beautiful day. Food is ok, Rooms are a bit stuffy and so far each time full of mosquitos, but they have spray so u can spray the room and return later. A bit out of Moshi, but as far as i remember they have free transport...

I love it here. It is difficult to believe the negative comments about Twiga Home. Perhaps other guests here expected luxury, but this is a hostel in a third world country, not the Bellagio in Las Vegas! Yes, there are problems with electricity, but that is how it is in all of Tanzania due to blackouts brought on by Tenasco,...

I stayed here for 4 days in Feb 2015. They are cheap ,but you get what you pay for, not so clean rooms and not so friendly staff. The location is also far from the town, however they do provide shuttle service to town, but the timing of the service is not consistent. I also purchased Safari trips from them,...
