Charming place to stay in Rantepao. Located aside from the busy main street in a calm part of the town, not far from the market, with pleasant terraces and tiny garden, where you can chill after active day (except tea/coffee you can buy a beer at the reception too). Cozy and clean rooms were at a good price with breakfast...

We stayed 5 nights in Riana guest house. It was a really nice experience, the rooms are spacious and very clean. We had a wonderfull time. Daud and his wife really do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Daud can arrange everything and is also a very goed guide! If you come to Rantepao, which you really...

In the middle of Rantepao in a residential area. Only accessible by foot. The advantage is that their are no car traffic noises but every family, like everywhere in Tana Toraja, have several cocks that start chanting in the middle of the night. Rooms are comfortable. A refresh of the bathroom would be welcome. Breakfast can be improved. But for...

Riana is a nice homestay near the main street of Rantepao and the city centre. The lodging is quite basic (no sink in the bathroom and very few facilities) but the family is nice and they do their best. We got a room downstairs for 175000 IDR which is a fair price. Daud, the owner, is a knowledgeable guide who...

Clean rooms. Take a room with hot water. Nice owner who is also a guide. be careful when you arrive in Rantepao. When you take the bus from Makassar to Tana Toraja, guides will wait for you in Rantepao. They will call your name and bring you to the homestay Riana, but they don't belong to the homestay! They will...

We stayed almost a week in August and enjoyed our stay very much. Daud and his family are very nice and helpful. And Daud is extremly knowledgable about Tana Toraja and its culture. He is an excellent guide!

The family seemed nice at first, however weren't entirely honest. Daud mentioned we'd only be able to check in at 8pm after arriving at 8am and charged us full price. They charged us for every toilet roll asked for throughout our 5 night stay. He also asked us to move rooms after double booking the room and moving us to...

I really can't figure out why this homestay has such a high rating on Tripadvisor!? In one word: AWEFUL, the bathroom is disgusting, old en smells like urine. If lucky, some drips of cold water out of the shower (as there was probably something wrong with the water pressure). Next to that, a lot of noise in the early morning...

The whole family is lovely and hospitable. Rooms are basic but large and clean. Very hot water. Laundry service is amazing and inexpensive. Scooter rental fairly priced. Daud is extremely knowledgable and will help you organize your visit. Good location. Excellent value. Only negatives - I was shocked that there was no sink in the bathroom and the toilet smelled...

Whilst the rooms/breakfast are basic, the family are really friendly and helpful. Ask the owner for a tour (can do both car/scooter). He knows about most of the events going on in the area..and if he doesn't he knows the right people to ask to find out!
