We decided to do a few-day trip to Chetumal in the middle of a more extended trip to Mexico. Chetumal was our access point to check out the area, including Bacalar and Mahahual. The prices in Chetumal were very reasonable.
The hotel is a nice, small size, with easy access to the malecon. The associated restaurant was convenient and, for the most part, had good food. Service in the restaurant is very subdued, and I wondered if the staff was intimidated by our group speaking English, as it seemed most of them spoke little English. However, Eric, who served us breakfast on all three mornings we went to the restaurant, was very pleasant, attentive and friendly.
The rooms are adequate; small, but had all the items we needed. The only, minor, complaint we had, was that there is no window to the outside.
I must comment on the young man (manager?), Efren, who works on the front desk. He went above and beyond what we expected, in making sure we were happy and had what we needed. He helped us in booking two different tours, and spent a lot of time ensuring we got what we were looking for. He was regularly checking that we were happy with our experiences in the restaurant, the tours and our rooms. He always had a smile on his face and a happy hello!

So at a first glance this hotel seems very simple and basic but it is also the best bang for your buck. Decent continental breakfast plus very cheap and VERY tasty options on the menu to buy from. Also the LONGEST breakfast window ever (7am-12pm). Also a nice 12pm check out, VERY stable wifi (was able to work remote) and the most helpful employers.

Bathroom cleanliness in the lobby area and dinning area were both sadly a fail but they were SO kind to let me plug in and work for four hours in their dinning area after check out.

Lastly they saved my butt when Fiesta Inn gave me my most traumatic travel/hotel experience ever. And all of this for just 40$ a night. Highly recommend them.

We stayed here twice at the beginning and ending of our Mexican holiday since we were flying in and out of Chetumal. The hotel is very convenient to the airport and a nice central location to walk around Chetumal. The waterfront is only a block away with food vendors and a market in the evenings. There are also nice restaurants/bars in the area. The room was clean, AC and WI-FI worked well. If you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues, I recommend requesting the ground floor as there are no elevators. The staff was friendly and helped us arrange transportation to the airport. There is a restaurant and a coffee shop connected to the hotel, but for breakfast I recommend the nearby Cafe Del Puerto.

Good location in not so nice neighborhood. Free parking in an old factory hall behind the hotel. Large pool in the courtyard partially covered with tin roof. Room with pool view through a glass pane but no additional window in the room. The glass pane is 3/4 frosted and cannot be opened. There is no fresh air in the room the air conditioning rotates the used air in the cycle. High humidity in the room, towels were clammy and worn and there were mosquitos as the room door was open on arrival,
Furniture partly consumed and minimalist with inferior materials, partly the damage was painted over. There is a TV in the room which worked well. The bathroom was not clean, floor in the shower partially dirty,(old dirt deposits) Good water pressure and hot water. Bed Ok but bed linen clammy due to high humidity. There are only Minisplit air conditioners , no central AC with fresh air supply. Room small Carpeting in the room is not a good idea in the climate of high humidity. Overall absolutely no 4 star standard with which the hotel advertises. Maximum -2 star breakfast included, good selection but not high quality, cold coffee at 7 am.
Price too high for the offered service. ONE HOTELS has a similar concept but much better execution and maintenance of hotels and higher quality materials. At the price of about 1500 pesos not recommended

The complete hotel is very cozy and it totally worths the price I paid. I loved the pool and the minimalist style, I also liked my room because it was very neat. Furthermore, everyone were so kind. But, there were 2 receptionists that were outstanding because of their attentions. They were always aware if I needed directions, recomendatons or anything. I think their names were Dafny and Eifren. For sure, I will go back soon. The only thing I would dare to say that I was annoyed with was the very slow Internet.

Excellent service! Everyone from the front door to the janitors were extremely nice and helpful, definitely would come back & recommend.
Facilities are renewed and you can clearly tell.
A couple streets walking to the beautiful shore, where all the bars, restaurants and shops are. Beautiful city!

When I did the check-in at the hotel the guy that was there didn't speak English very well and as I barely could understand him, he gave me the rules of the hotel in a sheet. However, people at night were really nice. I asked for activities to do in the morning and Daf and Efren gave me a map. They advised me to go to Calderas to eat "empanadis". By the way, there was a guy who was pretty handsome and really kind, he made me the Check-out, I don't know his name but he's got curly hair and he seems to be gay. The thing I felt most uncomfortable with was that the room DOESN'T HAVE WINDOWS and with the first guy

who was extremely moody

Older hotel with older beds. There are no windows looking outside; the windows face inward into the hallway so if left open people can see into your room as they walk by and view silhouettes through the shade. There was no hot water and no elevators to the upper floors.

The person at the reception was very attentive and friendly, quick reception and group exception to be able to use the pool later…

Excellent location near the boardwalk and climate in the rooms.

If there is water in the room, clean, good for a couple of nights

One of the worst experiences! Why does a chain like Wyndham allows this piece of monumental crap to bare its name. Rooms look like a jail cell out of a sitcom but dirty, stains on the bed! No water pressure, smells terrible and this is just what comes out of my mind. 🤢🤮

Kim...the hotel has a large covered parking area behind the hotel itself. It is safe and typically has staff around. The area is more like a garage. I left my car there for a few days without problems. enjoy.
