To be truthful: my overall opinion is rather bad then good. I start however with good things about that place. The location is by one of the main streets, so the taxis are passing there all the time. The price is very reasonable, and it was even a bit reduced while paying at the hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, everything was functioning well, including fast internet. The restaurant had a variety of tasty international meals, big servings.
The negative things: the pool was not accessible due to cleaning (for three days!). When entering the room 204 there was a strong smell of mold hard to beat for the whole night, even with the AC and open door. The beds had some presence of bed bugs! The room was very dark and the lights dim. The staff member who was a taxi driver as well offered to take us for the tour in the morning and never showed up, time lost.

The value for money was not as offered in the advertisment and as expected.

We got a room in the older part of the hotel, it was spartan furnished and parts of the furniture were very very old and partly broken (toilet seat). Moreover the ceiling of the wash-bowl-part of the room was covered with dirt (?), that also was not cleaned up after complaint. During three of our six nights there people in the room above ours made terrible noise in the middle of the night removing furniture, of what was taken notice by the hotel staff at our complaint in the morning, but nothing changed.

It has been a roof above your head, nothing more.

I have stayed here only once for 1 night only. Thank goodness. The room has everything you need but honestly, it needs a good cleaning from top to bottom. Even the pool did not look clean. There is a restaurant at the hotel, which we tried, nothing special about the food. We were the only ones there. There are nicer cleaner hotels that cost about the same price as this.

The room was not clean that they placed us in. Room 303 the bathroom door had stains the shower curtains were filled with mold, the bed sheets were stained and old. We booked the room because it had a pool and the entire stay the pool was not usable and everyday we were told tomorrow it would be an nothing happened.

The sink in the room started leaking and the maintenance person told me it was because of our wet clothes. I had to physically show him where the leak was.

It was three of us and 1 roll of toilet paper and when asked for another in the morning they told us with an attitude we have to wait until they come clean the room.

Never again!!!

Staff work together to steal from its guest. Went to the pool for less than half hour and return to discover more than $500 missing from my purse. Made a report and nothing was done and they told me if I call the police it will not make a difference. Beware don't ever stay at this place. That guy in the picture works at the front desk and coordinated with another employee to rip us off.

Well, where do I start... I have stayed at Hotel Principe on roughly 3 separate occasions and I must say, they got me as their long term customer. Although the rooms are not impeccable, I must say the staff are all VERY HELPFUL! Which definitely makes the experience Great and the price is great also! On one occasion my girl friends and I were having a night out and my friend who was recently engaged (1 day) dropped her ring in the sink!!! and one movement it was going to fall in the sink. As soon as we called the receptionist, their team responded quickly! On another instance, I locked my keys in my vehicle! and I had no spare key on me. this was around 2 a.m. after clubbing. I asked the receptionist to please call a locksmith early "Sunday Morning". She told me everyone was closed, but, she will try her best in getting one for me. And guess what? she surely found one for me! Hence, due to my experience I have no other option but, to rate them highly. Service is important and also we need to keep in mind that when we are reviewing a hotel etc. to rate them according to their appropriate classification. I can't expect to pay low price and get a 5 star hotel, that is impossible. It is about getting your money's worth. And for their classification which is a low cost hotel, in a good location they have exceeded expectation. Great job principe Staff! :)

It was the worst hotel on our journey and I would definately not recommand it. We slept in a big and clean room, but it was very noisy and definately uncomfortable, little like a hospital. The staff was ok and friendly but the restaurant was horror, also really like a cafeteria of a hospital. I won´t go there again, it was luckily just for one night...

We saw the price for the rooms and thought we would be getting a budget hotel. This feels more like a mid range. It had a nice pool, the rooms were clean, large and really nice. We had a very pleasant experience. It even had a quaint Juliet balcony. Tip: have pesos with you, as they couldn't do the conversion to USD properly! Pesos were just easier!

Came in very late and settle here. The first room had a noisy A/C and broken shower drain. Asked for another room with an A/C that worked but was semi-clean, leaky toilet and needed major renovation. Will not return to this hotel.

we were up and down looking for a cheap room with a swimming pool for the kids (yea i know right!) but each place we checked was either too pricey or booked. thats when we ran into our knight and shinning armor, El Prinincipe ;) lol The hotel is ok, don't expect a 5 star for the price to pay.. maybe 1/2 a star but hey! it has a pool! THANK YOU EL PRINCIPE! :)

"There are 2 buildings with rooms and the one building at the lobby can have poolside rooms if you want. There are about 6 along there I think. Adult pool is small, kids pool is nice size for non swimming kids). I would think the building not associated with the pool would be much quieter during pool hours for sure but you also may have some traffic noise (I was in this building)and had no "noise" problems. The wireless worked well for a while but then went out off and on."
