Omar Perez was the concierge for our room for the 4 days we stayed at Paradisus Grand Cana in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. He was fantastic, making our stay as enjoyable as possible whether he was in person with us or when not on the resort grounds. He made all of our dinner reservations for us, booked a massage for us, secured us our transportation back to the airport, had drinks delivered to our room, set up our bubble bath hot tub for us, etc… Basically, whatever we asked him to do, he did. Everything we wanted, he secured for us. Omar was incredibly attentive, very friendly and always got back to me as quickly as possible when I texted with him. I would 100% request him again!

We had an amazing stay (August-Sept, 2021) at Paradisus Grand Cana (formerly the Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real)!! We recommend it to everyone, since we have also stayed at seevral other resorts in Punta Cana. This was our 15th trip to the Palma Real in the last 10 years. Absolutely wonderful stay - and we want to give a special thanks to Sulenny and Milly for serving as our professional concierge and assisting us with our three kids during our family vacation. We celebrated the 8th birthday of our son while on the trip and the staff decorated our room with balloons and a cake for his birthday. The grand pool is amazing; we stayed in the first building, 3rd floor, closest to the main lobby. We also love the kids zone and special kids pool area. The food is top notch and Sulenny made reservations for us every night for special dinners at the end of each day. Weather was perfect the entire trip (6-nights). We are planning to return again in December. Highly recommended for families!!

We brought a group of 250 people there after Hurricane Fiona damaged our original resort. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable and all of our guests were impressed by them, the service and attitude of the staff ruined it for a lot of people though. There were a few gems among them, especially concierge Lewis De la Cruz who went above and beyond for his clients, and others. Most of us were made to feel like a nuisance when asking for a drink at the bar or rarely acknowledged when walking the halls, etc. Dinners reservations were hard to get, and all restaurants were closed between 11 & 12-12:30 so you either had to wait or go get chicken nuggets at the water park. If you are planning a conference here, please go elsewhere. They cannot cater to a large group, and although several of our guests had Reserve access, they could not use their concierge for dinner reservations. Looking for a family vacation with just a few people, this may be ok for you, but if you are looking for a resort with friendly service, this isn't it. You can tell it comes from the top down, as management is no better. Room tip.. even number rooms are on the pool-facing side of the building, odd numbers on the backside so you may overlook the street or another resort's garbage.

The Paradisus Grand Cana was wonderful! The staff were so friendly, and the service was great! Gabriella and Milly went above and beyond all expectations. Our Concierge, David was great, as well! Our favorite bartender was Jhocelie (spelling?)- She is so fun! The resort itself is extremely nice, with pools, beaches, activity areas, restaurants, bars.... The room was so beautiful and comfortable with all of the amenities and more! The bed was especially comfortable, and the black-out curtains allowed us to sleep in when we wanted to. The music, the entertainment, the singers and performers were top notch. We danced the night away many nights. The numerous available activities were super fun! They even had an event in which some of us made dog beds to donate to the animal shelter. The restaurants were beautiful and the chefs were amazing! They even accommodated my food allergy. If you get a chance, definitely go!

The food was great with a nice selection of food types. 1 bedroom overlooking the main inner section was great. Main pool had easy entry for me, I use a cane. It's not right on the beach but they do a good job of taking there without much of a wait on covered golf carts. The sun beds by the pool had adjustable shades which were wonderful . HAD a great time ,will go back !

It was our first time in Falcon by Melia Punta Cana (previously known as Paradisus Grand Cana). We were a large group with more than 5 rooms booked at this resort and were looking forward to an amazing tropical vacation at a luxurious all-inclusive. We were promised several things with the Reserve upgrade on Deluxe Swim up suite: butler service, concierge, preferred access to multiple restaurants across all Melia properties, access to an exclusive area of the beach meant for Reserve guest only, premium alcohol etc. Alas, we were highly disappointed for what was actually offered. Check-in staff – The process to check-in was not at all pleasant. After a long flight, and transport from the airport, we were ushered to a very small room meant for checking in for Reserve guests. There were 4 families waiting to be checked in, all with tired and hungry children and no place to sit. There was no refreshment/drink/water provided until it was our turn to check-in. After about 25 minutes wait which felt eternal, we finally checked in and were ushered to our room. No sight of the concierge that we were promised. The bell-boys took us to a wrong room and we had to take our luggage to the correct room. By the time we finally put our luggage away and went to the buffet for lunch, it was 3;30 and were turned away. Our only other option was Mangu where we had to wait for ever for the food to arrive only to be disappointed by the quality of food. Rooms and room service-The property and the rooms are very nice. The kids loved the swim-up suite. The rooms are spacious. There was no way to put a bathmat outside the shower without it getting caught on the shower door. So we had to make do with the bathroom floor being wet. The cleaning crew barges into the room without knocking and waiting for a response. When we requested extra soap in our room, we had to make three phone calls and despite that never received the soap. The minibar in the room isn’t spectacular. Concierge- The concierge assigned to us was missing in action till the next day. We were told that the only way to reserve at restaurants was through the concierge who was non-responsive. After multiple complaints to the supervisor, we were able to some reservations at the so-called ‘booked out’ restaurants only to find each restaurant with empty tables. They always claim restaurants are booked out and the only option is the buffet. Buffet-This is the worst buffet I have ever been to, let only at a luxurious premium all-inclusive. There are flies everywhere, even on the food and the staff don’t seem to be bothered at all…DISGUSTING!! The staff at the buffet do not speak English, some don’t even speak Spanish so it is very difficult to communicate or ask questions about the ingredients in the food. There is very little option for vegetarians or non-redmeat eaters. You would expect a tropical resort to have abundance of fresh fruit and sea food options. The staff at the buffets are always in a rush to whisk your plates away from table. Other restaurants-While we were promised preferred access to multiple restaurants, the only restaurants we could visit during our 5 day stay after a lot of stressful back and forth with the concierge were Mina Steakhouse and Kao. The food at the steakhouse was decent. The Kao hibachi was OK. Would have been nice to be actually see the hibachi table from your seat rather than only hear the clanking of the utensils. The only vegetarian entrée at Kao was pathetic and inedible. A bowl of raw onions (‘mixed vegetables’) in a lukewarm broth…YUCK They had set up a dinner buffet on the lawn on one night and ofcourse it started drizzling. The staff seemed not at all concerned about the food, salad, bread rolls, dessert laying bare and open. The fish, stew, Russian salad, and beans had tongs instead of spoons and none of the staff could seem to understand why that was a problem. Despite telling multiple staff, no one bothered to get the right serving utensils. I can go on and on about my disappointment with the food, but let me stop. Overall, nice property, lot of construction around, too far from the beach, mediocre food swarming with flies, not worth the $$$$

We are still at the resort but felt the need to write this. Pros: nice, clean, beautiful resort. Rooms and resort is well kept. A nice kids area with pool/splash pad. Employees associated with kids events/activities all super nice, attentive and friendly. Fun kids activities every night. Our kids really enjoyed them! Cons: service, service, service!!!! I feel like you only get good service if you agree to a sales pitch or if you booked the “reserve” rooms. Our sales pitch lady was so nice and seemed to care about how are stay was going but totally stopped responding to us once we missed our appointment. We even texted to let her know we were running 15mins late. No response back to that text and no response to the follow up text we sent. Some servers are very attentive well others act like we are doing them a favor by eating there. Have never been so disappointed in service before. Place is dead by 8pm. They have “activities” planned but no execution. We went to the sister resort and that place was hopping, people dancing with employees, fun music and dj. So much more more fun environment than this resort. There is a DJ/singers here too but again no execution. We requested towels twice thur the app one day. We didn’t get any until we called to request them. Why have the app when there is no response to requests. The app has room service option, not once yet has it shown us the breakfast menu. I asked the front desk lady for room service menu she didn’t have one, tried to help me in app but of course it wasn’t coming up. She was nice about it though. No communication about some of the restaurants being at the sister properties. Just happen to figure that out randomly. Just highly disappointed in service and lack of communication. Would not recommend.
