The good. The Bad. The ugly : Melia is an intl public company worth 3 billion dollars. I may be the only guest in years who has discovered the following issues: 1) otium is the contracted bus company by Melia. My reservation included free round trip vouchers to and from the airport to the hotel. How we there were no protocols in place to get me from from the airport to the hotel. The system is broken. The problem is, upon landing at the airport, I had no idea who to look for so I can be driven to the hotel. One hour later I found the otium agent who did not have my reservation on his printed list. After countless calls to his company and my hotel for one hour, I was told we are ready to be driven to the hotel. Upon arriving to the hotel - it took 3 hours to check in. The front deck lied to us many times. Mgt needed to be called who magically found 2 rooms near each other for the family traveling with us. The hotel room bathroom smaller like bad cheese. The bleach they use is bad. No need to say more. We had no choice but to move to another Melia higher class hotel called the grand Cana reserve. Beautiful hotel. High ceilings. Very majestic. Allot has a ritz quality to the place !! Very impressive. But the service is poor and the food is atrocious, disgusting and no taste. It’s my professional opinion that it’s better to have a small menu with amazing food than a large menu with poor food. Can’t imagine I’m the only guest who has complained over the years. Out of a 10 day trip it’s day 5. We still keep asking our selves is it worth coming back for the ambiance. The answer is no because the food is bad. The service here is not the best. Many smiles here and courteous but there’s no execution by the staff when asked for simple requests. There is no language barrier. The staff speaks English. They simply don’t want to execute your request and cannot multitask. Just finished dinner tonight. Ran into a friend who said they ate at Mina and unfortunately the food was better than nothing. They ordered the veggie burger. It was mush on a bun. I know because we had it the night before. Sad that such a beautiful hotel serves bad food. Room service- bad food. Cold. Hard. Etc. Restaurant reservations - hard to get reservations you want. The good resturant is always booked- Aqua. The devil is in the details with this Melia chain. The brand fails to reach the overall finish line- SAD AND UNFORTUNATE ! Because the hotel is so beautiful. Changes need to be made at the top level. Complaining won’t change the food supply chain contracts set in place with corporate. This place needs to be on undercover boss. Is the changes mentioned above actually were fixed l, this place can command double the price !!! I would come back for sure next year and bring friends. After documenting my experience listed above to mgt here, I don’t have confidence major changes will take place. I do have to say the female assistant gm manager is lively and accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. She belongs at the EDEN ROC

Hotel's Favourite
Have been to the grand reserve several times but this was the first time at Circle and it was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent as always and the amenities and room were top notch. Everything still has a very new feel to it. All of the safety protocols related to cleanliness and sanitizing made us feel safe and contributed to another great trip. While the amazing food, room, and atmosphere all added to the experience, the attentive service of the staff and overall friendliness of everybody working at the resort made it extra enjoyable. In particular would like to commend our concierge Harold Vasquez as well as several of the dining staff who all went above and beyond while we were there - Anye Cordero, Elvis Leon, Robert Perdoma, and Debora. Thanks again for another great trip, we look forward to coming back again soon.

No you cannot check-in at 3pm because the room is not ready; No you cannot have dinner at the restaurants because you will need a mandatory reservation, and all of them are full because you are only staying 3 nights, we don’t have a place for you and your family, and you are not part of the Infinite whatever Circle who cares Club; No you cannot get a room closer to amenities despite traveling with small children’s because we overbooked the hotel and actually we gave you an upgrade in a remote location; No we cannot change you to another better hotel that give all the services we charge you but don’t offer to our clients. Conclusion: despite the restaurant reservation issue was later resolved after requesting the money back for the entire stay and asking the manager to transfer us to another better hotel, the disappointment they gave to guests at check-in is so vast that you feel you make the wrong choice at $500 dollars per night. This is a 2-star customer service hotel at a 5-star infrastructure facility.

Booked the reserve room for 21 nights, but travel dates changed and book 3 more nights in a regular room. Almost a month in total. There is also a paid transfer. Upon arrival, we walked for 30 minutes in search of the Melia reseption in PUJ, but did not find it. A guy from another transfer service helped. The employee in reseption of Melia never showed up. For $42 we got an old sienna, no water and air conditioning. We arrived at the hotel. At the entrance you will be greeted by an employee with a list. For 30 minutes we explained first to one, then to the second, that we had 3 reservations and most of it was the reserve. No, you have 2 nights now, so first you go to your room on the 4th floor, then you come, check out and go to your room on the 1st floor. Then you come, check out and go back to the room on the 4th floor. Seriously??? We have a 24 night booking for $10,000. OK. Began to find out the issue with the upgrade. Yes, no problem, pay 630 USD for 3 nights. Seriously??? We have a 24 night booking, $10,000, 2 birthdays and need to pay an additional 630 USD??? OK. 12 hours flight, all tired, went to the room. Changed and went to the reserve to find out this issue there. There the situation is the same "pay". Melia what's your problem? At Majestic, we were upgraded to a club room for free with no reminders. In Occidental we were offered to use the club part for free. Room 2403, Kochetkova. With this approach, we will cancel the main booking and leave for another hotel.
