Ever hear the expression "Just bring your toothbrush". No need to do that at Paradisus The Reserve, the adults-only paradise at Paradisus. Seriously, there are 2 toothbrushes in every suite. For that matter, you don't need to bring a comb either. Paradisus has All-Inclusives knocked. After a $50 million dollar renovation that involved every single suite at Paradisus Palma Real, Melia has set a high bar in Punta Cana. And talk about wonderful food! There are 9 restaurants to chose from featuring everything from Italian, Mexican, Dominican, Continental and Buffets with endless choices. The Epicure is a new program that brings famous Chefs to the property monthly. During my visit Chef Antonia Lofaso of Food Network and Top Chef fame was joined by Dominican born Chef Vargas who created a special 8 course menu and did demonstrations on how to make Ravioli (Chef Lofaso) and Crudos of Fish (Chef Vargas). Time your trip for one of these monthly events and you'll take home nothing but great food memories. The beach is spectacular with dozens and dozens and dozens of palapas and there's a pool within eyeshot no matter where you look. In sum, you can't do better than Melia's Paradisus....and there's even a high-value loyalty program that will have you coming back for more!

Four of us took a girls trip in February. The service was very excellent and on par or even with any other resort! The food and grounds/room were appropriate for the 3.5 stars. Some mediocre, some very good!
Resort and rooms- the grounds are quite small as is the total capacity of guests. We were there for four nights and felt it was the right amount of time. Had we stayed longer, I would have wanted to take day trips or walk around the Hotel Zone for a change in scenery. We were in rooms 245-246 and had street noise on the weekend nights; these are standard rooms, not pool or ocean view! The rooms feel traditional and may be perceived as outdated by some; they were roomy and suitable for us.
Food - There were live action stations at the Albatros Buffett each evening (taco grill, stir fry station) depending on the evening’s theme. We got two a la carte reservations for our four nights and chose both the Mexican (mains were excellent) and the Italian (good pastas.) We were able to make our reservations on arrival day for the current day and next two evenings. The food was not as great as other resorts I’ve been to, but there was always something we liked. Great breads and baked goods, fruit, tuna or pasta salad, and plenty of breakfast options that I enjoyed! There is essentially a lobby bar and a beach bar, and we enjoyed both.
Service - absolutely wonderful! Sandra Cruz was an incredible server, making drink recommendations and remembering our favorites. Henri de Leon is a bartender at the beach bar and was a ton of fun! Meal service was always good; we appreciated how the buffet would accommodate our request to sit outside. Other reviews have pointed out the long check-in process. I felt our experience was on-par with other resorts, as they need to copy your passport, have you sign hotel policies, and run your credit card.

I wish I could stay here forever. I've traveled extensively internationally, but this was my first tropical vacation, and I can't say enough about how incredible this resort is. The service was exceptional, the food was outstanding, and what truly made the experience unforgettable was the concierge service, which made us feel like royalty. Our concierge, Adriel, was nothing short of amazing—attentive, proactive, and always one step ahead. He’d already secured dinner reservations before we even thought to ask, ensuring we never had to worry about a thing. He was also incredibly helpful with booking excursions and offering great tips on how to make the most of them. Ultimately, it’s the people like Adriel here that make this place truly special. Their hospitality and care elevate this resort to something extraordinary. Juan and Gustavo from Sante, and Yessica from the Italian restaurant were also wonderful.

Food: 2 out of 10. Service: 3 out of 10. Room: 7 out of 10. Location: 10 out of 10. Honestly, it's not worth visiting this resort. The staff aren't friendly, and their limited English often leads to miscommunications. Despite requesting a replacement three times, the refrigerator wasn't fixed, and the shower remained faulty even after two attempts. The food quality was dismal, with every restaurant falling below even fast-food standards. The only tolerable option was the buffet. I highly recommend choosing a resort in Mexico, such as Cancun, Cabo, or Puerto Vallarta, where the people are much friendlier, and the service and food quality are superior. These resorts prioritize guest satisfaction, understanding the value visitors bring to their country.

A beautiful resort, friendly helpful staff, but the whole food offering is appalling. If you enjoy frozen chips with your raw chops, or never being able to get a reservation in an empty restaurant then this is the place for you. If they started by getting rid of their f&b manager, followed by supposed guest services they could start again. Unless you enjoy being messed around and made to beg fir an empty restaurant you will never get into, go somewhere else. We’re still here, let’s see if these comments wake anyone up- I will let you all know…..

Its a no for me. The food was lack luster, if you don't know spanish you can barely communicate what you need. There is a long wait list for an all inclusive you would expect to be able to have dinner reservations but not here. The scenary is great. Overall you get your needs met but it is a bit of a retiree resort as there was not many options for entertainment, its pretty quiet unless you're going offsite of beachside & who wants to be sold a package off the beating path, it doesnt feel like a safe space to leave

We stayed there from 7th-12th March, along with my wife and 12 other friends. When I was checking out I discovered that they had significantly overcharged us for the wine (by about $430). I wrote a review on TA after our visit describing the issue and the hotel responded on Trip Advisor that they would refund the money. Subsequently I did contact them multiple times with all the details and every time they indicated that they were addressing this issue. However it is now 6-7 weeks after our trip and we remain $430 poorer for our experience.. So if you do stay at this resort, I would reiterate what I had said in my first review. 1. If you purchase wine, at the end of dinner, take a photo of the empty bottle/s consumed – you will need this when/if you have to dispute some overcharge. 2. Check you bill the day prior to departure, or at a minimum, 3-4 hours prior to departure, as you will need that much time to argue your case. 3. If you traveled with a group of friends, have all of them check their bills a day before departure, as we found that the waiters had charged 2 rooms for the same wine!

It is the second time we visited this hotel, this time in the off-season and we did not like it very much this time because they do not open all the restaurants every day, but take turns, unmissable Love of Sea, if one night they have a special menu is very chevere the experience, we also liked Karnica, the only restaurant that did not meet our expectations was the Peruvian Machu, if they have the opportunity to have breakfast in Mangu is very rich. Scheduled exercise activities in the main pool and on the beach have very short duration, maximum 20 minutes, so I recommend going to the gym or jogging on your own. The excellent Habitat boys club our girls had a lot of fun.

Room super nice, big, thick fluffy towels, very neat. No hairdryer, 3 days aftera housekeeping called for hairdryer, finally they bring one, does not work, we were there for 10 days and only on day 8 hairdryer... Location perfect nice neat beach. Food 6/10, lots of noise, not pleasant sitting, no refined cuisine. Food made for the American tourists...cuisine and decor resto needs better

We have come twice now to Mascalzone to eat and this place has the best servers! Wilmina is so good and cheerful. She recommended the pasta we ordered and paired it with a fantastic wine from Chile. She kept checking on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We will be back again before we leave 🙂! It made our stay at Palma Real very pleasant!!
