Hotel's Favourite
Paradisus Palma Real April 22-30 Check-in: This resort is stunning! The view when entering is breathtaking, elegant and welcoming. There is a direct view from the lobby to the ocean. Upon arrival, we were escorted to the Reserve (Adult only) check-in area where we were offered a welcome drink. We signed our check-in agreement and received our bracelets which double as a room key. We were met by our concierge Starlin and escorted to our room. Room: Our room 7102 was the Reserve swim up Jr suite. The room was beautiful. It had a modern decor with neutral tones that created a very relaxing space. There was plenty of closet and drawer space for our belongings. The room included robes, slippers, and an umbrella. The mini refrigerator included water, beer, soda, juices and snacks. Additionally, we were given welcome plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of merlot. There was also a bottle of Rum and Mamajuana in the room. The bed sat a bit high off the ground (I’m short) but it was very comfortable and we both slept well every night. The room was a bit warm for me, I called the front desk and they were able to lower the temperature. The room walked out to a patio that contained 2 pool lounge chairs and an umbrella for shade, with direct pool access. This pool was amazing and was always the perfect temperature. The only downside to this was that on 3 different occasions we found other guests using our patio lounge chairs. This room location was very close to the beach and the adults only “Wanda bar.” Also a must mention- excellent Wi-Fi through-out the resort and beach! We streamed video in our room at night before bed with no interruptions. Pools: There were 3 separate adult pools. There was one large Freeform adult only pool with a swim up bar and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The other 2 pools were were part of the swim-up suites. The pool closest to the beach is home to water activities such as aqua-gym. There is also a very large family pool with a swim up bar in the center of the resort near the beach. Still other pools are located on the family side of the resort with swim up room options as well. Restaurants: Mina: My husband had the t-bone (extra charge) and I had the veal. The food was good but we were so tired from traveling all day, I really don’t remember much of this experience. The wait staff was excellent. Mascalzone: My husband had the ravioli and I had the lasagna. The lasagna was very rich, it was good but I couldn’t eat more than 4 bites. My husband ate all of his ravioli and the rest of my lasagna. Excellent service, wine and food! Tokimeku: My husband had short ribs that were excellent. I had a sushi roll. Not too bad. Blue Agave: I had the meatballs, which were very spicy. My husband had an assortment of tacos, they were very good. Winery: EXCELLENT diner!!! This was the best meals of all time! Steak, fish, potatoes and vegetable on a board (see photo). This was my birthday dinner, they sang and brought me a cake. Perfect evening beyond words. The Jonathons were on top of everything! Malva: The food here was ok, my steak was a bit hard to chew for me, but the potatoes were excellent and the wait staff were on top of it! Sante: This is one of our favorite places. We had breakfast here most mornings. We also had dinner here one evening and had steak and lobster. Lobster was so good, I was full and couldn’t eat the steak. The next time for dinner, I had pasta with shrimp and my husband had ribs he loved them!! They also have a Sunday brunch that is excellent!! Flora: We had lunch at Flora one day, had the jerk chicken, it was excellent! The Lunch Box: Yanira is the best! She always recognizes us each time we return! She is always happy to see us and makes us feel at home! We ate at this location for breakfast and lunch. Wide variety of foods to choose from and the staff was excellent! Kanna Beach Club: This has your typical American cuisine, hamburgers, wings, hotdogs, Quesadillas, great comfort food. The wings were my husbands favorite! Kicks Sports Bar: This place is the “cheers bar” of the Palma Real, we love our friends (staff) at this bar. They brought me a cake and sang for my birthday and the hugs and genuine care is why I cant wait to go back!! The attention to detail was phenomenal! EVER SINGLE one of them treated us like family! We also participated in a mixology class in this bar one afternoon. It was so fun! Shout out to Andreina, Victor, Miguel and Fiol, thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality! Wanda Bar: Wanda kept us laughing and made drinks with a smile! She was there from 6am to 6pm every day! Also if you have an upset stomach talk to Wanda, she has the cure! It may not taste great, but IT WORKS (yes my husbands knows this from experience!) Entertainment: Every evening they had something is the square. One night they had telescopes, got some great detailed photos of the moon. They also had bands, singers, dancers, fire twirlers and over the water acrobats. Also kicks had a DJ or band later in the evening. Kicks also had any and every game or sporting event on their TVs. Beach: The beach is my happy place! Pedro at the beach kept us laughing and was on top of everything! Unfortunately Mother Nature struck and the sargasso was challenging, yes the resort did their best to clean it up. Pedro even brought us plenty of Mimosas’ and flowers for my birthday! Spa: Good massage, wish they had hydrotherapy at this resort. Golf: Just a quick shuttle ride to the gold course(0.8 miles), if you are staying at Palma Real you just need to cover your cart fees. If you have your own clubs, bring them, rentals available if needed. Beautiful golf course! There are 27 holes, driving range and putting greens. Well manicured course. Easy to sign up for tee time on the website, they pick you up and go! Above and beyond for my 55th birthday!! Please see the video! Starlin and Yaleidi, were excellent concierges!! Our room was decorated with balloons, streamers, flowers, desserts and champagne! The bathtub had flower pedals as well as the bed! We also had turn down service that night with chocolates on the pillows! The attention to detail was amazing!! Negatives: Just a few brief points: Random people on our patio swim up loungers on multiple occasions. wish turndown service was every night (feeling spoiled asking for this one). Summary: This vacation went by too fast, we cant wait to go back and see our family! This was so amazing I don’t have words. The food was better than we remembered. We have been to this resort a few times, but this was our first visit since the renovations, love the updates! Yanira is excellent at the Lunch box! Pedro at the beach also excellent! Starlin and Yaleidi excellent concierges’, always available when needed! Kicks family, Adreina, Fiol, Victor and Miguel, cant wait to see you again! What we love the most, is the staff remember us from previous visits. Highly recommend this resort for the attention to detail!

I had the pleasure of staying for four nights, and overall, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I checked in at the reserve area, which was very professional, I was impressed by the level of service and attention to detail. **Check-In:** The check-in process was superb, with the staff ensuring a smooth and efficient arrival experience, thanks to a competent check-in clerk who efficiently merged my 2 separate reservations, so we didn't have to check out and in again mid stay, job well done. Our concierge, Lewis De La Cruz, welcomed us warmly, but unfortunately, he seemed more focused on making a sales pitch rather than enhancing our stay with personalized touches. In fact, Lewis was so unhelpful that later in our stay when it was time to meet for the sales offer he couldn't even organize the meeting, wasting my precious vacation time. **Accommodation:** I reserved a oceanfront reserve junior suite in the adult only section of the resort, got a ground level room, and I must say, the room exceeded my expectations. The view was breathtaking, and the suite itself was outstanding in terms of comfort and amenities, a full mini bar refilled each day, L shaped sofa, lots of storage space, robes and slippers, a umbrella, a bottle of rum, mamajuana and wine & much more. As a delightful touch, the room came with a complimentary beach bag, complete with flip-flops, adding an extra touch of luxury to my stay. The room opened up to a patio with two rocking chairs, providing a serene spot to enjoy the ocean breeze, Another highlight of the room was the direct access to the ocean, allowing for convenient and picturesque strolls along the beach whenever desired. **Facilities:** The resort's pools were a highlight of my stay. There are 3 adult only pools They were beautifully maintained and provided a perfect setting for relaxation. The bars and bartenders were exceptional, offering personalized service that made me feel truly valued as a guest. Special mention goes to "Wanda" at the pool bar, whose service was amazing. **Reserve Adults Only Pool:** The reserve adults-only pool is were I spend most of the day it is a very quiet place for sunbathing and to relax. For pool events and music, however, you needed to hop over to the main pool, which is huge, by the way. **Towel Service:** A special shoutout to the towel person who escorted me each day to my pool chair, making sure I had everything I needed with a touch of humor. He made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Additionally, the guy who took care of the pool area had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. His cheerful demeanor added to the fun and relaxed atmosphere by the pool. **Helpful Tour:** Despite the initial focus on sales, Lewis did provide us with a very helpful and informative tour of the property, highlighting key amenities and points of interest. But, failed to tell me about my 1 free excursion that was included with my stay, i only realized it later when I arrived home. **Spa Treatment:** I must mention that the spa treatment I eventually received was very, very good. It was a rejuvenating experience that added to the overall relaxation and enjoyment of my stay. **Kick Sports Bar:** The resort's Kick Sports Bar was another standout feature, with great bartenders and lively entertainment every night. It provided the perfect setting for enjoying drinks and socializing with other guests. I wish I knew the name of Kick's bartender to thank her personally for the great service she provided. **Entertainment:** Each night, the resort offered great entertainment options. the "plaza" as its called, and kicks bar were alive with activities, providing a diverse range of entertainment options, from live music to circus acts, koreoke, I personally loved the mirror danse party, just ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. the plaza was also a great place to relax and have a drink at night, with bartenders going around fulfilling all your needs, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere **Dining:** I must emphasize that all restaurants, too numerous to name individually, were outstanding in all aspects of the word. From the quality of the food to the service and ambiance, dining at the Resort was an unforgettable experience. **Issue:** However, my experience was marred by one major issue. I encountered a "huge" bug in my washroom, which was quite unsettling. Despite notifying Lewis, the issue was not promptly addressed, and I had to wait until late afternoon before being able to use the washroom comfortably. We were promised by Lewis compensation in the form of a spa treatment, but unfortunately, this was not honored at the spa, it was a true disappointment as Lewis failed to follow through, leaving us feeling deceived and undervalued as guests. I was lucky I didn't pay for the spa upfront; I only added the fee to my room, so I had a chance of reimbursement at check out. **Resolution:** Thankfully, the manager, Richard, stepped in and rectified the situation at checkout. He addressed my concerns promptly and ensured that I left the resort feeling satisfied. Overall, despite the hiccup with the bug and the initial spa treatment mishap, my stay was memorable for all the right reasons. The outstanding service, luxurious accommodations, and beautiful facilities more than made up for any shortcomings. I would certainly be returning in the future.

This was our second stay at Paradisus Palma Real. My wife and I decided to come back after honeymooning there in 2015. We stayed in a garden view, junior suite on the reserve side. For the most part it was a let down. From the moment we checked in, it seemed unorganized. We had a reservation on the reserve side, but the bellman didn't have us on his list, so we had to wait in line at general reception only to be escorted to the reserve check in. There was only one person checking guests in, so that took another 30 minutes. Our concierge gave us a very cursory overview of the resort, and off he went. The resort felt very split up. There is the Circle side, general population, and the Reserve side. It seems the Circle guests receive more amenities as they had their own lounge. The good: The resort overall is beautiful. They did a great job with the recent renovations. Jose at Mina was by far the best waiter we had during our stay. This was also our best meal. Wanda at the Reserve pool bar is fantastic. The guys at the reserve beach are wonderful as well. The bad: Overall the service and food at the hotel is not good. When we dined at Blue Agave, it took over an hour to receive our food. Our waiter did not return after the initial round of drinks, we had to go to the bar ourselves and get more. This is the case at most of the restaurants. The week we were there, it was noticeably not busy. I would suspect the resort was maybe 2/3 full. We could not figure out why it took so long to get food from the a la carte restaurants. When we ate at the Italian restaurant, we noted 5 cooks in the kitchen, yet my lasagna came out cold...not sure how that happens. The buffet was awful. No variety, the same food seemed to be prepared each day, the chefs weren't friendly, often food was cold. Trying to flag someone down to get coffee in the morning took forever. Our concierge was barely helpful. We did our research and communicated on our first day which restaurants we wanted to eat at. Every day it was a struggle to get reservations. He had to ask us multiple times where we wanted to eat and what time. We ended up eating at random times even though the restaurants were never more than half full. Our stay was booked for 4 days. By the morning of the 3rd, I was ready to go home. No one should feel like that on vacation, right? Stray observations: - It was not noted or recognized that we were return guests. This was off-putting. - There is very little opportunity to get food outside of meal times. There is no "snack hut" or anything like that. - During the change from "Royal Service" to "The Reserve" it seems they did away with the lounge for this side of the resort. - There are not any nightly shows at this resort anymore. Apparently you have to take a shuttle to a different resort to see any kind of show. - The app is almost useless.

Dear Natei2020, We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave this review about your recent visit. We are thrilled to hear that the beauty of our recent renovations and the tropical allure of our resort left a lasting impression on you. Jose at Mina and Wanda at the pool bar, along with our beach team, embody the sophisticated service we strive to deliver, and we are delighted they made such a positive impact on your stay. Unfortunately, it seems we fell short in other areas, and for that, we are truly sorry. Your dining experiences, particularly at Blue Agave and the Italian restaurant, did not reflect the luxury and care we aim to provide. While our buffet aims to offer a harmonious variety, we regret that it did not meet your expectations. Your insights on service and communication are valuable, and we are mindful to ensure every guest feels relaxed and cared for throughout their stay. We appreciate your candid feedback as it inspires us to continually improve. We are encouraged by your compliments on our dedicated staff and the inviting ambiance of our resort. Rest assured, creating a carefree and enjoyable experience for our guests is always at the heart of what we do. Thank you again; we hope that you will return. Best wishes, Juan Carlos Lloret Executive Assistant Manager Paradisus Palma Real

We booked three different hotels on our trip and this one was the best. This hotel is quite high level. Good design and maintenance. Great reception bar. Friendly staff. Room is clean, modern, comfortable bed, quiet, good design. The beach is big with a large number of umbrellas and sunbeds. Good towels without a card - you can leave them anywhere. There was only one minus - the food in the steakhouse is not very good, and a long wait time. So we rated the hotel at 9/10. If we went again to Bavaro, we would choose this hotel.
