Lodge rooms are definitely small but well priced. They accommodated us by making sure we had rooms directly across from each other as requested. The AC and ceiling fan work well and the room was definitely quiet from outside noise. Bathroom is extremely small but shower had great water pressure. The closet space is nice but it is hard for...

Thank you for your review. Mather Lodge is a beautiful original Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and Works Progress Administration work from the 1930s. Therefore the rooms are smaller than most modern rooms. I apologize that you had problems with the door. The humidity has been an issue, and we are looking at way to correct that. We are happy you...

A wonderful Lodge at it's best! Very good staff, clean, great affordable food & family atmosphere! Spectacular views off the mountain. Always plenty to do with the parks calendar of events. A must to do for the entire family!

We stayed in a wonderful, pet friendly cabin. It was a great, clean cabin. We couldn't have been happier. The restaurant serves delicious food either to eat in or to take to your cabin. The surroundings are awesome and there's lots to do. Be sure to hike to Cedar Falls.

The Mather Lodge and the CCC history is very interesting. The old lodge and the new one are blended very well. Lunch in the dining room overlooking Petit Jean park was very pleasant. The service was good. The food was just average, however. That really did not matter to us. We had a great time.

What a beautiful setting with many great hiking trails! The Lodge has two section, the old section where the rooms are and the new section for the restaurant. The room was clean but small and only had a shower. Couldn't get cell phone reception in our room or in the restaurant so not a great place for a business meeting...

Thank you for taking the time to rate us! Petit Jean State Park is very remote and it is sometimes hard to get good cell reception in some areas. Mather Lodge is a historic site that was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, also known as Roosevelt’s “Tree Army”. The rooms are smaller than most modern rooms, because...

Booked a hotel room at the lodge, upon arrival the front desk person suggested moving into a cabin as it was only $10 more per night, and included a fireplace. Sounded great, so we said yes. She picked out the cabin for us (they were almost all empty) and we had an amazing stay. UNTIL we checked out. When we...

I appreciate the time you took to leave a comment about your stay. I first want to apologize for the confusion on the cabin rates. Our overnight cabins are only $10 more than the lodge room you had booked. However, it looks as if you were put into one of our housekeeping cabins with a kitchen, which is a little...

It's a beautiful setting! The price wasn't bad. The room was very small but pretty. I loved that it had wood floors. The room was neat and clean. The bathroom was small and only had a walk-in shower. I was fine with just the shower. The TV was a nice size. I wish the room had been bigger but there...

Spent Christmas at Mather Lodge in Petit Jean State Park. Our room was quite small, but adequate, as it had everything we needed. It and the public areas of the lodge were clean and appealing. All employees we encountered were welcoming. The restaurant featured a Christmas buffet, and it was plentiful and good. Service was efficient and friendly. The only...

We have been to beautiful Petit Jean State Park many times and have loved every minute of every visit. Love staying in the cabins with their beautiful views and rustic interiors but this was our first stay in the lodge. Pleasantly surprised by the comfortable beds and homey interior. Not a large or luxurious room but very comfortable, clean, and...

We have visited Petit Jean State Park many times and have stayed in the cabins and campgrounds but this was our first time to stay at Mather Lodge. In spite of it being a rainy weekend, we have a relaxing and pleasant stay. The service was excellent including the desk clerks, the cleaning staff, and the restaurant staff. The room...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of Arkansas's historic treasures, Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park, reopened on May 8 following a beautiful, and fitting, $4.3 million renovation. The renovation work replaced the lodge's 1960s-era dining room with a more rustic-style design, expanded the kitchen, added a 50-person room for meetings and small banquets, relocated the guest registration desk, enhanced the 24 guest rooms, and constructed a new lodge swimming pool. Public restrooms were added underneath the pool due to its proximity to Cedar Falls Trail, one of the park's most popular hiking trails. The renovation did not affect any of the lodge's original Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration work from the 1930s. Now the renovated portion mirrors the Adirondack-style park architecture of the 1930s' portions of this Arkansas treasure. ... more   less
