If you are lucky enough to reserve one, the cabins managed by Mather Lodge are clean, comfortable, affordable. The view from the lodge and the cabins is amazing. You have easy access to the many hiking trails of Petit Jean mountain. The restaurant at the lodge offers many yummy entrees for the whole family. The kids enjoyed burgers and chicken...

Really old place, really small rooms but it was very comfy, very clean and very quiet. Fantastic views, great food and wonderful staff. Loved every minute we were there. Would love to go back someday.

Mather Lodge sits atop Petit Jean mountain. It is a rustic setting with some incredible views. No king beds in the lodge; queen is the biggest. Rooms are not as outfitted as most hotels, but they are adequate. Cabins can also be rented.

Have always wanted to stay at a big old lodge and this fit the bill. Beautiful wooden structure overlooking the canyon. Quite a few common areas to relax. Rooms are basic but nice. Cable tv was nice to have. Wifi signal was too weak to be useful.

The hotel has a rustic feel and has beautiful views. The rooms are not luxurious but that's not what you come for. The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant had decent food but the view out the window is excellent.

My husband and I stayed here in the lodge for 3 nights in room 118. It was really fun. We love how rustic the lodge is. The room is very clean and the employees were nice. The shower had great water pressure. But the shower is very small. It wasn't a problem for us but other people would probably not...

You'd think that this lodge has only one room cleaner. We arrived at 11:30 am to eat lunch in their restaurant. My husband went ahead and did the check in paper work. The guy at the counter said the room was not ready yet. Cool! That's ok. We were too early. My husband went back thrice to check at 2...

This was our second time staying here, and we loved it both times. It reminds us so much of the National Park Lodges out west at less than half their prices. The view is beautiful, the restaurant has a wonderful menu with a full salad bar, and the rooms are most comfortable. The staff is warm and friendly. There are...

Our family have been going to Petit Jean State Park (where Mather Lodge is located) for over 50 years! And we are not as old as that sounds! :) We have never had a negative experience at this State park and Lodge! Plus they have cabins for rent, tent sites, rv sites, swimming pool in the summer and much more....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of Arkansas's historic treasures, Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park, reopened on May 8 following a beautiful, and fitting, $4.3 million renovation. The renovation work replaced the lodge's 1960s-era dining room with a more rustic-style design, expanded the kitchen, added a 50-person room for meetings and small banquets, relocated the guest registration desk, enhanced the 24 guest rooms, and constructed a new lodge swimming pool. Public restrooms were added underneath the pool due to its proximity to Cedar Falls Trail, one of the park's most popular hiking trails. The renovation did not affect any of the lodge's original Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration work from the 1930s. Now the renovated portion mirrors the Adirondack-style park architecture of the 1930s' portions of this Arkansas treasure. ... more   less
