People who stay here either love it or hate it. It IS rustic compared to the usual chain hotels we are used to, but you can't beat the location and the uniqueness of this place! Don't expect dependable Wi-Fi, phones for wake-up calls, air conditioning, TV, hairdryers or toiletries beyond soap and shampoo. BUT, oh my! The views of the...

The positive: great nature guides, nice landscaping, large showers, hammocks on the balcony. The not so positive: poor bar service, front desk issues, so-so food (though the dining staff were nice). The location of the property is the biggest draw.

Our rooms were screened and had a balcony with a hammock inside. There is a ceiling fan in each room. We asked for a different room after noticing a rip in one of the screens. They provided an even larger room much to our pleasure and satisfaction. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served buffet style with a variety of many...

You know you are headed to a unique place when you have to climb into a canoe to get to your hotel. And when the hotel, perched up on a cliff, came into view, we were not disappointed. After climbing up a few steps and ramps, we were rewarded with a beautiful view of the Napo River and Amazon Basin,...

You have to take a short canoe ride, along the Napo river, to even get to the location, so let that be an early indicator of the kind of isolation you will find here. As soon as you arrive on the grounds, you get really lazy, and just want to lie around; it really is that relaxing when you look...

Wonderful location. Stayed for two nights as part of a Gate 1 Tour. Food was good, buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with good selection including desserts. Small things that bothered me we no air conditioning (I love air conditioning), and no free Wifi. I know that when you are in the Amazon basin, you should be taking in nature, etc....

Just finished 10 day Classic Ecuador and Amazon tour. Outstanding. Casa Suizo was just one of the superb hotels on the trip. Really enjoyed the serenity of this place, resting in a hammock on our balcony, overlooking the Napo River. The chef was really great and accommodated dietary needs each day. Many thanks! Our tour gate, Pato, was also a...

This is not deep in the jungle, but it is a bourgeois luxury experience. All transportation is provided via motorized canoes piloted by locals who know what they are doing. All of their tours were included in our tour - local village, rainforest hike, tubing, etc. You do NOT need to bring rubber boots for the jungle, they provide them...

I could not have imagined better accommodations in the rain forest! What's more fun than staying in a hotel that you have to get to by boat? I actually really enjoyed the boat rides up and down the river. The rooms are very nice and feel very new. The hotel itself is built high up on a cliff overlooking the...
