A late edition to our Sri Lanka itinerary and a good decision. Very comfortable tented accommodation, with many finer points often missing in hotels. A stylishly decorated sitting area, we loved the colourful elephant on the coffee table so much we bought one when in...More
We stayed in the Mahoora Camp Wilpattu from Febr. 9-11 2018. The purpose of our
stay was mainly to study the Indian Pitta during its winter stay in Sri Lanka.
Let me first report on the facilities: The camp is set in small forest with...More
The whole thing was brilliant, we have been on many safaris in different countries but this was the best. Our naturalist, Saranga and driver, Chamara, were faultless. We say everything, including a leopard making a kill, unbelievable! The tent was above our expectation, very comfy...More

Dear Elizabeth Brookes,
Apologize for the delay in reply, we do have a lake next to our Wilpattu campsite and also on the way to the safari, but as this is a drought season we do not have water in the lake next to our campsite. you could still see and experience the wilderness in our camp setting.
However, We have the possibility to arrange a coffee session during the safari but it is advised that you don’t get into the lake as we can’t make sure about the cleanness and safety.
We do have our local Sri Lankan made coffee, ground coffee if preferred and also Nescafe can be provided.
Please let us know your preference then we could arrange it accordingly.”
