When you open the double wooden doors from a perfectly ordinary street in old Bansko, you will be delighted to step into a pretty courtyard decorated with traditional pottery and fabrics. It's just as welcoming inside the home of Rene and Ivan. They are genuinely hospitable people who work hard to please you. We went with a group of friends...

This place is absolutely amazing! Fantastic and unbelievable cheap! It's very clean and cosy and quiet and in the center of bansko at the same time! All the food and drinks are home made and Devine delicious and you CAN'T find anything like this nowadays! You will feel at home because the owners Reny and Ivan will make you feel...

We went here for my birthday, the selection of food was exceptional, all of the group were really impressed. Rene the host is brilliant. Beer wine and Rakia assisted in the evenings entertainment. Absolutely brilliant.

We were taken for a meal by some friends who live in Bansko. We were a party of 8 and were incredibly well looked after. The table was laid out with an assortment of homemade food and bread. Ivan cooked whatever we wanted on the barbecue and Rene catered for our every need in the kitchen. We had our sons...

Did not actually stay here but tried their 'restaurant' which is just a fantastic experience. It's virtually someones living room where a group of you, around 12, are fed and watered with a fantastic selection of salads, bread then traditional Bulgarian main courses. Beer is beer but the red wine is home made as is the rakia all of which...

This little guest house is tucked away and will take some finding, but once found, it is the perfect place to stay if you're interested in experiencing a very warm, Bulgarian welcome and the best of authentic Bulgarian cuisine. It is very well located - a hundred metres or so from Pirin Street. The room I stayed in was superb,...

The Hayloft provides a fantastic traditional experience of Bansko. The owners of the Hayloft are friendly and really keen to cater for individual needs. Raina speaks great English and with her partner Ivan, provide excellent accommodation and breakfast. There is a lovely courtyard for a relaxed evening and on request Ivan can provide a great barbecue accompanied by Raina's traditional...

“We had very heavy suitcases, so both rooms on the ground floor were suitable for us. That said our hosts offered to help with the luggage. P.S. I didn't rate the fitness centre as it is located not in the guesthouse but is in the form of the mountain Pirin - UNESCO World Heritage Site. We went climbing there and that was quite an exercise !”

“If you have a heavy luggage like me, it is wise to book a room on the ground floor. I had to help my friend with her suitcase and bringing it upstairs was quite an exercise.”
