You won't see this place unless you're a birder, naturalist or have some spark of adventure. The Manu Road, leading to the hotel, is not for the faint of heart. The lodge itself is great. Accommodations are in individual cabins, and many are along a speedy little river. The rooms are rustic--you are in a cloud forest two stops from...

Cock of the Rock Lodge gave us all we needed. Clean rooms and excellent meals. Very happy with the variety of food/juices served, all healthy and satisfying. Staff were friendly. Second time visiting this lodge, but this time were looking for glass frogs, as well as the usual wildlife. William, our guide, went above and beyond looking for this frog....

This was one of our stops on our way to Manu National Park. There is a Cock of the Rock lek nearby which was fantastic! Had 8 of them flitting around. Very close! They are much bigger than I thought. You stay in bungalows with mosquito netting on each bed. The dining room has hummingbird feeders in back. Saw other...

The lodge consist of a number of comfortable cabins with double beds. These had hot water but no electricity. Candles were provided - showering by candle-light was a unique and pleasurable experience! Food and hospitality were excellent. The local nature and nature trails were awesome and full of interesting birds, plants and butterflies.

We stayed a couple of nights as part of a two week visit to Manu Biosphere Reserve (Manu itself was absolutely fantastic!!!). We had a knowledgeable and experienced guide (Ricardo H Sanchez Tucto) who was able to explain the park in great detail. This made a difference to our enjoyment as I had wanted to visit Manu for over 20...

We stayed in a number of lodges on our birding trip and this was one of the better ones. We slept in the bungalow closest to the road and did hear the trucks passing along the road. The room was clean with decent linen and towels. Once we understood how the shower worked we did manage to get hot water....

A great location on the Manu Road and terrific bird feeders. Lots of great bird watching available by walking on the Manu road just next to the property also. Food was very tasty. The lodge was full on the night we stayed and we were given what appeared to be the least used two cabins. They had lots of roaches:...

The highlight was the feeders that attract hummingbirds, tanagers, and oropendulas. having the birds close by was a treat. The lodge itself has minimum comfort. Electricity is on only from 6 - 9 in the evening. There is no light at all in the rooms. A must is for the visitor to have a head lamp. The food is adequate.

We stayed here for just one night in July. In fact, we were the only ones there that evening so we had the place to ourselves, which was both eerie and neat at the same time. We arrived shortly before dark, after a long day on the road from Cusco with a couple of unexpected stops. We were met by...

We stayed here for 4 nights during a birdwatching trip to Manu. Agree with other comment, it is rustic, but extremely clean and well maintained. No electricity in the private cabanas, and the main dining hall only has power for a few hours each evening, but that is enough time to charge up cameras/cell phones etc. The dining room has...
