We were not impressed with Mussa Spring Hotel. First and foremost, there was no hot water at all. They claimed that they had a solar heater, but there was no hot water even during the daytime. The staff were highly uneven: one staffer was friendly and helpful; the other two were gruff and seemed uninterested in us. The hotel charges...

I was looking for a place to stay for one night before exploring Petra the next day, and didn't have a reservation anywhere in Wadi Musa. When I stumbled into the Mussa Spring Hotel (really a hostel), the front desk guys were very welcoming to me and were great about getting me a room quickly and even let me join...

Ok so I know this is a hostel and not a hotel, but there are still things that I would like from a place I stay at. Toilet paper is one of them. The rooms are extremely small, which I suppose is how hostels are supposed to be (never been to one before this) but I would have liked a...

I spent a couple of nights in Mussa Spring Hotel while visiting Petra and would like to thank the people there to make our staying extremely pleasant and cosy. This is a family hotel, run by eleven brothers, all of them constantly making some improvements and try to welcome their guests as you are visiting their home. Here we can...

Stayed two nights (after being told booked hotel full) and the guys behind reception were lovely. Otherwise it is a basic backpacking hostel, more than a hotel. The rooms were small (stayed in 2 different rooms), clean and relatively comfortable beds, but the bathroom is very basic, in 1 room we had no toilet paper or shower curtain and some...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 1 night as part of an organized tour of Egypt/Jordan. Our room was tiny, the smallest room we have ever stayed in. it was so small that when  we were both in the room with our bags it was near impossible to move around or open the door. there was neither air con...

To be clear: basically all accomodation in Wadi Musa is way overcharged and only the Mövenpick Hotel is right by the gates. Most of the hostels claiming to be near the gates are actually in the middle of the village. Mussa Spring is nowhere near the gates, but nor does it claim to be. A taxi to Wadi Musa should...

Staff were excellent...tried even to cure a friend who had the nausea with a local potion: two or three drops of lemon juice mixed with special coffee of the region, mixed in a tea spoon ....and it works. The hotel was rather a hostel at the time but it had a cute garden where you can meet other guests and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Your best choice in Petra Jordan hotels . Moses Spring hotel : The first significant mention of Petra is in the Old Testament, as the prophet Moses approached Mount Edom after their forty years in the desert..Local legend says that it was in the hills just above Petra that God ordered Moses to produce water for his people by speaking to a rock (Exodus 17). When Moses instead struck the rock, the spring that gushed was Ain Mussa (Spring of Moses). This spring is today housed beneath a three white domes building at the eastern entrance to Petra. This is the first building you will see when you come from Amman or Aqaba on the right hand side . In our original location we have been welcoming tourists to this wonderful site for 29 years with staff that speaks English, French and German (apart from Arabic of course ).Mussa Spring Hotel is recommended by all major traveling guide books in different languages (Lonely Planet, Let's Go, Guide de Routard, Rough Guide, Frommer's, Michelin, ...)The hotel has 22 guest rooms (single, double, triple) all equipped with private western toilet and shower, satellite TV, movies (of course are 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' and 'Lawrence of Arabia' among the extensive selection), telephone, central heating and 24 hour hot water . It offers daily free shuttles to/from the gate at Petra (Ain Mussa). ... more   less
