This review is for my 3 night stay and fishing trip during the last week of April 2017. In my opinion, most of the other reviews here on tripadvisor are very fair and accurate assessments of Sailfishbay and many of the lodge's attributes have already...More

I stayed in Sailfishbay Surf and Big Game Fishing Lodge for a few days. I was very comfortable, the room was lovely and spacious, looking at the ocean.
Good price for the value.
I highly recommend to stay in Sailfishbay at Mark's place.

Information regarding siargao and fishing is Extremely limited.. I can tell you my experience in June.. Paid 8000 pesos for the whole boat to myself and girlfriend and the trip lasted 9 hours.. I don't know if they do inshore fishing as we travelled 20 kms out into the Pacific.. The crew doesn't really speak English so it was difficult to understand what was going on. They Do know what they are doing, re trolling teasers with lures and 1 dead bait.. They locate 12 foot long bouys that are randomly positioned out there.. Whenever we encountered them there would be several local Bankas (local boats) hand lining for tuna, dorado etc. Every time we trolled past the bouys we hooked up tiny yellowfin tuna, 10 in total.. We also hooked a sizable Marlin on the deadbait but unfortunately it broke the 80 lb line soon after hookup..
Best Marlin and sailfish are March to may but I'm sure they fish yellowfin tuna etc all year..
If you want to keep updated and get advice look up (JMN big game fishing charters) on Facebook.. This is the official site for Sailfish bay resort who's owner runs the charter boat I went out on.. Best of luck..

hi , as per the guidelines of tripadvisor , we are not allowed to give our web address out , but if you go to google and search for big game fishing in the philippines we come up as number 1 so you can find it quite easily , as for your transport to malaoascua you would have to book a flight to cebu then catch a ferry from there or fly again , i think you might be ablre to get a bus also but you would need to cvheck that out as i have never been there , hope this helps , cheers
