Fantastic lodge! This was the nicest lodge we went to in the same price range. The lodge is beautifully built and has stunning views from the rooms and dinning area. It is owned and run by the local community and you can see how proud they are of it. The area can be very cold, but thick blankets and the... More

Spent one night at Bakiga Lodge. Beautiful location where all rooms overlook a spectacular lush green valley. Lovely food, very welcoming staff, cosy beds with ensuite showers, even wifi in the middle of nowhere. And just a 3 min drive from the ranger station where you start the gorilla treks - perfect. Highly recommended, thank you Gina and colleagues!

We loved our stay at Bakiga Lodge! The views are incredible and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The profits from Bakiga Lodge are used to build water tanks for the local community and it is a very authentic experience as you can really feel the connection to the local community. The food was delicious :) and the beds... More

Bakiga Lodge is built on the edge of a cliff and has wonderful views of the valley beyond. The lodge is very conveniently located near the Ruhija entrance of the gorilla treks in Bwindi National Park and makes a good spot to spend a couple of days. I loved the ethos of Bakiga of giving back to the community. We... More

The cottages are located on the side of the mountain near the top and have an excellent view to the west and the valley. The steps from the lodge to the cabins are steep and can be long, good training for the Gorilla Tracking. The food was delicious and the fireplace in the lodge was needed as the nights are... More

I loved the feel of Bakiga Lodge. With a communal charging point for appliances and the giving back NGO approach to the community Bakiga is a fantastic place. They did give us ham and pineapple pizza as vegetarian (when questioned they said "It's small pieces of ham"!). We didn't push them on it. The food could be improved to match... More

Stayed here two nights in July when visiting Bwindi for gorilla-safari. The lodge is great and the location/views are probably one of the nicest I have stayed in. The staff very nice and helped us with everything we needed. The food also great. Drinking a beer outside our cabin with that view will be something I will remember for a... More

This was a beautiful location in Bwindi National Park. There were 3 of us who decided to do the Gorilla trek after being on a humanitarian water project in the Magoggo district of Uganda. THe drive was long...10 hours from Kampala. We were treated by the friendly staff upon arrival with juice and wet towels which was welcome. We were... More

Glad you enjoyed your stay Saphire. Our power is actually all Solar, because we don't want the noise or pollution of a generator affecting clients. We continue to add to the panels we have so it is mostly available throughout the day (unless there is no sunshine!). More

Was an excellent stay. The views are fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Emmy even picked up my permit from Kampala as I didn't start there. A service which goes beyond what is called for. The room was great and the food was sound. Definitely recommended.

Hands down the best place to stay as the night before base prior to tracking gorillas in Bwindi. The lodge is built into the side of a hill that overlooks post card scenery of farms and villages below. You are easy walking distance to the village and a once in a life time experience of African culture like I could... More
