We popped into the H&J for breakfast recently while passing and it's nice. There was plenty of food and it's self service but some of the stuff gets "over heated" and hard. The major redeeming factor is Mark. He's excellent and a big asset. Very nice pleasant chap . All in all I'd recommend the H&J for a stopover

I can't keep away! Every time I am in the area I have to do a detour to be sure I stop at the Horse and Jockey for a meal. I have never stayed here, but love the food. I have eaten in the pub, but usually now I eat in the lounge area. Their cakes are out of this...

I stayed here while on business in Thurles, the food was decent, the staff were pleasant an it has a fantastic leisure centre. Very busy little spot, plenty of locals using the hotel for meetings, dining and leisure. Excellent value. I would recommend it for a pitstop between Dublin and cork if you're on business.

Stopped for dinner on the way home from Cork. I used to stop here as a child with my parents before the motorway was built and it's reputation has only gotten better! Not just the fact that I am older and now able to really appreciate good food, it's simply Michelin star quality. I had fillet steak. The largest piece...

Stayed last Saturday for a family occasion. Lovely quiet areas where we could talk privately. Room was warm and the bed was very comfortable. Would have had a fantastic nights sleep if only we had gone to bed at a reasonable hour. The breakfast was nice and there was a huge variety of choices from light to substantial.

Meeting up with the 'girls' for a night away is always a treat. Gone are the mad nights out and at our age a relaxing night away seemed to be the ticket!!! So €120 for dinner massage/facial and b&b seemed to good to be true!!! From our early arrival at 12pm to our check out the next day it was...

Went off the motorway for a quick coffee to break the journey . Went to lounge bar for coffee and a scone . Have often called here first thing I noticed was the size of the scone it had gotten a lot smaller than usual and as my grandmother would have said they must have stood at the Blackfoot when...

I have stayed here quite a few times. What a lovely , welcoming place to return to. Very good rooms, excellent gym, cosy pub and a good restaurant. Food is exceptional . The cafe as well , all goods are baked on the premises by the Horse and Jockey expert bakers. They should really write a recipe book.

Went racing in Thurles and stayed here for a night, started with a toasted sandwich in the bar which was great and super attention from the staff. The rooms are of a quality you would find hard to find in Dublin, the finish is top class. Breakfast following morning was all one would want. The staff are what makes this...
