I stayed 3 nights in this brilliant small hotel. The rooms are of good size, with comfortable furnishings, and the bathroom is well-appointed, with a proper bath, not just a cheap shower. There's also a nice comfortable lounge, which doubles as a breakfast room. The place is quiet, as it's well away from the main road, and there is ample...

Stayed for a long weekend in the stables , self catering accomadation at Allerton House, it is dog friendly so brought along our little jack russel. Accom was lovely, spotlessly clean, as the temperature outside was minus 2, the accommodation was lovely warm and cozy. The host provided the basics for us milk, crumpets etc, the kitchen was well stocked...

We enjoyed 2 nights in this great B&B in the lovely town of Jedburgh. Following a warm welcome with some recommendations for the local area, we made ourselves at home in the incredibly comfortable (double) room. The bed was exceedingly cosy and so far off the ground I was able to dangle my feet before they reached the floor! There...

Wonderful weekend break, stayed in both twin bed (disabled accessible) on night 1 and double bed room on night 2 (first floor) as the twin had already been booked on the second night by another couple. Owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was top quality. The porridge was especially enjoyable and unusual, I have never had it...

Owners couldn't be more accommodating. Centrally located bed and breakfast. Rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast absolutely fabulous with healthy options available over and above the traditional Scottish breakfast.

Truly magnificent room in this impressive historic building: equipped with every comfort (including a fridge). Most helpful and thoughtful hosts. Delicious breakfast, beautifully cooked, from an good menu that included excellent vegetarian options for my daughter. [Other daughter not with us this time: I would need to have asked about gluten free options if she had been]. Perfect stay.

We had an excellent weekend staying at Allerton House as a family, and using it as a base for my daughters wedding. The owners were very helpful in catering for the odd extras that arise when getting ready for the big day. We very much enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend Allerton House as a place to stay.

Allerton is a traditional house with an interesting history. We stayed for one night while walking St Cuthbert's way. Located on a hill side overlooking the town it is a five minute walk to the centre. The rooms are large and well furnished and have a good range of equipment. The room we were in had both a bath and...

We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and helped to enter our rooms. We were personally escorted instead of pointed! Our hostess, Carol, was happy to provide some real milk for our morning tea. We were offered a Sherry or Whisky in the lounge to help us relax after our long day’s walk and it felt like reentering...

We staid here on the way back home from a longer trip - it was delightful! Very large room, great breakfast and good position at the edge of town. The complimentary glass of whisky and sherry were very welcome. The porridge I selected at breakfast was fantastic!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Allerton Guest House and B&B in Jedburgh is a welcoming Georgian house set in a lovely, sizeable garden giving the impression that it’s in the middle of the country when, in fact, it’s just off the Main A68 trunk road and only 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of the attractive Borders town of Jedburgh. With just six rooms (one fully equipped for people with disabilities), the atmosphere is personal and informal whilst the standards come up to those required in these modern days for both business and leisure visitors. The spacious rooms are all en suite and are equipped with free wi-fi, digital television, an Ipod dock, iron, hairdryer and, of course, tea and coffee making facilities. Your hosts, Chris & Carol Longden, enjoy serving a really good breakfast (with healthy and vegetarian options) using locally-sourced ingredients such as St Boswell’s Black Pudding, Denholm sausages and free range eggs. There are some really good local restaurants and bistros and the fish and chip shop is excellent – and all just five minutes walk away. ... more   less
