We stopped here on the way up to our house in Dornoch after a very long and wet drive up the motorway-Master very grumpy. Both Master and Mistress were then cheered up by large Mc Callen and G and T,whatever they are. I was made very welcome the whole time I was here. I then went out for a wet... More

Booked this on the reviews that it was 5 star. Yes it is, but not the rooms, only the restaurant is 5 star. In reality it should be clearly stated its a restaurant with rooms only. Cramped lounge and nowhere for children to go and play. Breakfast - why everything has to be brought to the table is a mystery,... More

You are correct, this is not a hotel, for the past 27 years we have been a Restaurant with Rooms. That is why the AA and VisitScotland, who inspect us rigorously in every area each year, classify us as a Restaurant with Rooms. You did not reply to our email question of the ages of your two sons, we can... More

We stayed here on a trip to Skye with our dog and found the most wonderful experience here ! Hospitality next to none including our dog who was welcomed like an old friend. We wanted somewhere special as this was our Silver Wedding celebration and chose this lovely hotel from the reviews that we read. We couldn't have chosen anything better. Cherry is a great host and Gordon a 1st class chef. The accommodation was lovely and clean with wonderful views and the food was exceptional. We will certainly be back again!

My partner and I along with another couple stayed at the Creagan House on three non-consecutive occasions within the span of 10 days. We did not do this on purpose! What brought us back was the unbelievable gastronomic creations of Gordon Gunn and his bride, Cherry, who also is responsible for running the front of the house. She does this... More

I am not exaggerating when I say that my meal here was probably the best meal I have ever had. I took the opportunity to stay the night as a last minute decision as friends were staying here too. The room was traditional and cozy. It had every comfort you could imagine but all done in a " homely" sort... More

Decided to stay with Cherry & Gordon, as they are distant relatives, as part of our tour of Scotland. We were not disappointed. We were the only guests staying but they still put on an excellent breakfast, and we also spent the 2nd evening sitting with them and talking over a drink

Creagan House is a very special place to stay in lovely part of Scotland just inside the Highland border. As always, Cherry’s warm welcome, Gordon’s immaculate cooking and the good company of other guests made for another thoroughly enjoyable stay at our favourite place in Scotland.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Creagan is a devil to define, but a delight to find! For an escape from life's fast lane and a real taste of Scotland, a visit to Creagan House is an experience never to be forgotten. This cosy farmhouse is only an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow, but it feels like a million miles once inside, surrounded as it is by gorgeous highland scenery. An ideal base for a special occasion, whilst touring, or for a longer stay to explore the wealth of attractions and activities within easy reach. A renowned Restaurant with Rooms, where food is, without question, the heart of the house. It is country house cooking in the modern form, classically French based, using the best quality fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Gordon and Cherry Gunn have owned, and continually improved this unique outpost of highland hospitality for 28 years and are proud of their many awards earned each year. These include 5 star Restaurant with Rooms Gold Award from VisitScotland and the AA. You can be assured of a warm and genuine welcome in this home away from home. ... more   less
