Decided to stay with Cherry & Gordon, as they are distant relatives, as part of our tour of Scotland. We were not disappointed. We were the only guests staying but they still put on an excellent breakfast, and we also spent the 2nd evening sitting with them and talking over a drink

Once again Cherry and Gordon are the perfect hosts, you just know that as soon as you enter Creagan house your in for a special time. We had the same room as our last stay (Top of the stairs first on the right) the bed was comfortable, sheets of good quality and pillows to sink into. The bathroom is just...

Creagan House is a very special place to stay in lovely part of Scotland just inside the Highland border. As always, Cherry’s warm welcome, Gordon’s immaculate cooking and the good company of other guests made for another thoroughly enjoyable stay at our favourite place in Scotland.

We were dissapointed to have to curtail our last visit here but made up for it with a 3 night stay this time. I'm not surprised that this establishment gets so much repeat custom. We met other guests this time who had been coming for 17 and 20 years. Once again the hospitality, accommodation and food were just superb. Gordon...

What a superb place to stay. A great place to break a journey to the Islands. I cannot speak too highly of the professionalism of the owners Mr and Mrs Gunn. Their long experience in the trade shows at every turn. Mr Gunn's cooking is excellent and the surroundings in which dinner is served can rarely be matched ! In...

Its such a pleasure returning to Creagan House. Cherry Gunn gave us such a warm welcome and husband/chef Gordon continues to take pride in high quality dishes. In our 12 days in Scotland this year it was hands down still THE best breakfast and porridge. The location is a great starting point from Glasgow or Edinburgh and is the perfect...

Our family had exclusive use of Creagan for two days to celebrate the wedding of our son and his (now) wife which took place at the Registry Office in Callander. There is no way that I can find words to describe the amazing experience which all 10 guests enjoyed. There is no detail overlooked by Cherry the highly experienced and...

Creagan House was recommended by some lovely friends so we knew our stay would be wonderful, but it turned out to be what memories are made of! We enjoyed everything about Creagan House, including the small details like the Molton Brown hand lotion in our room and the hand crafted pottery on the dinner table. The atmosphere was warm and...

I found Creagan by a combination of Sawday and Tripadvisor and it very much fitted our bill. We wanted a cosy but special place for a small family gathering to celebrate my dad's 80th and we found it at Creagan. We had exclusive use for the weekend and so it was like a rather elegant house party with no cooking,...

Stopped for one night en route to noirth-west Scotland. Were only able to stay for B&B so unable to comment on the evening meal. Very friendly welcome from Cherry who was helpful throughout our short stay. Pleasant, cosy room, perhaps a little on the small side (but do we need the acres of space some hotel rooms provide?) but nicely...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Creagan is a devil to define, but a delight to find! For an escape from life's fast lane and a real taste of Scotland, a visit to Creagan House is an experience never to be forgotten. This cosy farmhouse is only an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow, but it feels like a million miles once inside, surrounded as it is by gorgeous highland scenery. An ideal base for a special occasion, whilst touring, or for a longer stay to explore the wealth of attractions and activities within easy reach. A renowned Restaurant with Rooms, where food is, without question, the heart of the house. It is country house cooking in the modern form, classically French based, using the best quality fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Gordon and Cherry Gunn have owned, and continually improved this unique outpost of highland hospitality for 28 years and are proud of their many awards earned each year. These include 5 star Restaurant with Rooms Gold Award from VisitScotland and the AA. You can be assured of a warm and genuine welcome in this home away from home. ... more   less
