This was an exceptional holiday made even more special by Miriam and her hospitality, from homemade bread to a tower of Tunnocks teacakes to a beautiful and very thoughtful hamper! Plockton is a stunning place and there is no better place to stay than The Manse, a beautiful characterful house that felt like a home. Don't miss the boat trip... More

Just back from a long week end staying in this warm, colourful, beautiful house. Friendly and helpful Miriam who gave us a warm welcome, and a basket of local foods to try. The most spectacular location with great local walks and easy access to Skye. Couldn't fault anything about our time there, except it wasn't long enough. Will definitely be... More

Don't shy away from a visit to Plockton in the winter! Miriam at the Gallery is there to give you a lovely warm welcome and the scenery, walking and general location is really special. Our bedroom was very spacious with a super large bed and lovely Egyptian cotton sheets. We came back from supper to a cosy warm bed with... More

The Manse and Plockton make an excellent combination. Large bedroom with lovely ensuite bathroom. Spacious lounge and kitchen. House brightly decorated and fascinating paintings throughout. Nice garden with parking and view of Lough. Excellent cycling and walking locally. Wish we had brought our kayak. Excellent breakfast - other meals in great Pub opposite.

I have visited the Manse on many occasions and never been disappointed. It is situated in one of the most attractive areas of Scotland. Miriam is a superb hostess offering cuisine and comfort of the highest standard. Activities abound for those who wish to be active .Book now and you will wish to return .

We went to Plockton thinking we'd have an idle long weekend but ended up doing a lot more than anticipated and it be a whole lot more fun. We strolled along the bay, took a trip to see the seals, my son tried crabbing under the tutelage of Miriam, and then more crabbing and more crabbing, and we walked over... More

I was fortunate to find a friend who told me about this great place to stay! Both Plockton and The Manse. Miriam is a very welcoming start to a stay here. I had the four poster bedroom with the lovely relaxing bath......if only I could have stayed longer.....but there is always the next time....This is a real chill place to... More

This is a beautiful building, beautifully decorated with a lovely garden. The accommodation is ample with large rooms and plenty of bathrooms, sinks etc. It is wonderfully situated. A few downsides will not distract from your experience: - the kitchen is not very well equipped with a ghastly cooker and small sink (it is a lovely room though) - the... More

I have read many of the reviews written by other guests of the Plockton Gallery and can only agree with the superlatives so many have used to describe their stay and their enjoyment of the Plockton area. Yes, the “four poster bed” room is a lovely airy, wonderfully decorated room and the same can be said for the bathroom, a... More

I have stayed at the Manse on number of occasions and different times of the year. It is always a pleasure but I think my favourite time is when the exhibition is happening because the place is festooned with fine works of art. But you need to go with the flow. It is much more interesting and stimulating than b... More

Thanks dear Neil M. for those kind words. I'm so glad you enjoy going with the flow. Could it be that your less than perfect sleep quality was due to the fun during Regatta Fortnight? Maybe specifically to the fun right outside one of your windows? The pub across the road does have advantages 50 weeks of the year, but... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Its a big old house, a former manse, with views of the sea loch- Loch Carron- from all the rooms. Big rooms and bathrooms. Full of paintings, lots of which are for sale. Log fires in the winter. BBQ's in the summer. Opposite the Plockton Inn and round the corner from the Plockton Hotel and The Shores, excellent meals out are easy to arrange. As an article in the May 2013 Yachting Monthly says, " if anything, you've too many views around Plockton. Snuggled around a sheltered cove on the south side of Loch Carron, the place is absurdly picturesque."n.b. There is no B&B sign outside, we are opposite the Plockton Inn and there are a lot of sculptural pieces in the garden. Wrought iron gate and grey front door. There are working locks on all bedroom doors and for the front door, just ask me for the keys if you require them. ... more   less
