Great place for peace and quiet. I'd rate it 5 stars, except for the pricing in peak season. Very good food, only place on the lake, no speed boats on the lake so retains the Algonquin peacefulness. Great service. You will be billed a service charge ... No tipping and none seemed expected, Clean, rustic Muskoka. Not luxurious (except for...

A Blue Herron fly by when leaving the cabin at 7:00 am for an early morning coffee. An encounter with a young red fox. Paddling on Joe Lake with trees withnessed by Tom Thomson. A hike up to The Lookout; yes, you can see forever. And then comes breakfast with steel oat porridge with brown sugar and/or maple syrup. That's...

This past weekend three of my friends took me to Arowhon Pines to celebrate my 85th Birthday. This quintessential "institution" has special memories as it alone remains as a living memory of times long past, times where peaceful comfort and reflection are not marred by the frantic pace of 2016. Arowhon proves that you can go home again.

We returned to the Pines after several years and found it even better than ever. It's a beautiful oasis in the Algonquin forest. Comfortable cabins set along a pristine lake have lovely decks from which to watch the sun set or gaze at the stars. Activities include unlimited access to canoes and kayaks for a relaxing paddle or to explore...

I can't put into words how amazing this place is. Beautiful setting, delicious food and great service. Theresa and her team put you at ease. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The only problem is the food is too good and I've put on a few pounds despite my long hike on one of the marked trails, my pre-breakfast...

Our Favourite Cabin, Cedar View, has been extensively renovated and has a deck overlooking the lake and across the water to the incredible dining room. A new very solid wooden bridge across the stream has replaced the rather crumbling span that use to be there. The entrance to the dining area and office has been completely redesigned and is far...

The long road that leads from the East 60, builds the anticipation and excitement for the forth coming stay. The beautiful forest road is interspersed with glistening lakes that are just the appetizer for the view that meets you as you stand on the sun deck of the main building. You are welcome to take a swim and relax before...

Ten members of our family (ages 9-73) gathered for a weekend at Arowhon to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. While we had been many times before, it was the very first Arowhon experience for most. And each and every person had a wonderful time and enjoyed the activities (canoeing, sailing, swimming etc) and the wonderful food and service. There was...

Arowhon Pines is a very special resort. It is located in beautiful Algonquin Park, in Ontario, Canada. The food is outstanding and they are particularly known for their amazing butter tarts. All meals are included in the room rate. The service is good, but they are not well enough staffed for anticipatory service, so I cannot give them a five...

Loved this place. Totally off the grid so very relaxing. Beautiful setting. Food is excellent. Staff very helpful. Great but challenging hiking trails. Use of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards - and we tried them all. Lake swimming is the best. Make sure you ask for a renovated cabin - only sorry we didn't have that information ahead of time. Its...
