We met the most amazing people who also happen to be the staff - a very big thank you to Wandy, Julio Coffe & Yuleisy who took the best care of us and made our honeymoon very special. All the ladies in the coffee shop were also some of the nicest people we have met. We will be sure to come back soon.

Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana This will be a fairly long review and I will try and cover anything that crosses my mind. We spent two weeks here from 11/6 through 11/20/21. 1. The resort. Let’s start with this is a Latin branded resort in a Spanish speaking country with a wide array of foreign clientele. (This also not Live Aqua Cancun!!!) We encountered many people from the US, Russia, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, and several other countries. So I would not expect the staff to be totally fluent in your chosen language. Many of the staff speak great English, some are learning to be more fluent, and some not so good at it, but are also learning. My recommendation is to use one of the translator apps if there is absolutely something that is very important to you so it is not confused in translation! (Drinks with no alcohol, allergies, etc. etc.) you can preload those statements and then there will be no confusion. The staff at this resort are all totally amazing, always happy, and want to do nothing more than to please the guests to make your stay as special as they possibly can. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are impeccably landscaped with beautiful flowers, trees, and plants. The plantings are set up to create a sort of seclusion to swim up rooms and the pools as you walk from location to location. Running down the center of the resort is a 275 yard long flowered archway (give or take a few yards. Had a few drinks before pacing it off). Halfway through the archway is the Wonder Pool bar that has drinks and snack food. There are four smaller pools, 2 on each side of the resort. These pools are pretty quiet with an assortment of Bali beds that can be rented for the day and plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas. We never had an issue finding just the right spot to spend a lazy day in the pool. The main pool has 4 Bali beds, 2 on each side that can be rented, and lots of loungers and umbrellas set up. There are seats and tables in the water under the roof overhang by the swim bar that are great to sit at in the heat of the day. This pool is much more active with music, an entertainment crew, games, exercise/yoga groups, and other activities. It does also have quieter times, but if you just want to relax with a book, I would suggest the side pools. Th beach has some rentable Bali beds and lots of loungers with palm style umbrella huts to relax under while listening to and watching the ocean. The Miraflores ceviche restaurant lies between the beach and the main pool. This place has great lunch food with views of the pool or ocean while you are eating. 2. Restaurants One thing to be aware of with the restaurants, is that the servings are generally small portion. You will get used to this and learn to order accordingly. You can order as much or as little as you would like. Unlike other resorts, you can also restaurant hop. Appetizers at one, main course at another, and desert at a third if you so choose. We had food from every restaurant at least once and most of them a couple of times. This is a very subjective subject and am only giving my opinion to assist if I can. Also, we never had a bad meal here, just some that we liked more than others and tended to revisit. There is one buffet style restaurant for break fast. It is set up amazing and has anything you may want. They have egg stations for omelettes, scrambles, and cooked to order eggs. It also has a fourth station, my favorite, the chilaquiles station that they make fresh for you. They have areas of the buffet that serve many cultural styles. From meats and cheeses, fresh breads and pastries, vegetarian items, Latin flare, American flare, and so on. There is fresh fruit stations, many juices, fresh made smoothies, all the way done to cereal if you would like it. If you can’t find something good to eat here, I would be extremely amazed. Besides the juices here, they are happy to bring you endless Mimosas and terrific Dominican coffee. SEISHIN: We did the Hibachi table twice here and the front menu restaurant once. The chicken, beef, and shrimp from the hibachi was all very good. The beef at every restaurant is some of the most tender that I have had anywhere in the world. The front side we both did sushi and pad tai octopus. We both enjoyed it. SOSPIRO: We visited this restaurant more than once and for one main reason, the spinach ricotta sunflowers ordered with the shrimp sauce!!! Absolutely amazing!!! The chicken cannelloni was great and so was the sliced beef steak. For desert, you can’t go wrong with the crepe. ATL: The quesadilla and octopus toast was good for starters and the beef flank steak tacos and pork meat tacos were pretty good. (The pork meat tacos are pretty spicy just as FYI). The three milk cake was very good as well were the churros. Chez Rose: The onion soup and the smoked salmon are amazing starters. The file de boeuf is so tender, perfectly cooked, and melt in your mouth good! The coq au vin was also pretty good. We really enjoyed the creme brûlée for desert. I have had much worse at Italian restaurants. Lunch places: HUZER: The shawarma was a good starter and my favorite here was the rice from the sea. The roasted chicken was also very good here. We did not have deserts here and did not eat here often….we were usually by the pool or I was on the ceviche. Miraflores: The shrimp aguachile was good, but by far my favorite ceviche was the Yucatán ceviche! The gobernador and the Rosarito fish tacos were very good and our favorites from here along with the fried calamari. The cheese cake was a great desert from here. WONDERPOOL: The beef and chicken burritos we really good as well as the chicken burger. One thing that is really nice is that you can order for this place with your poolside server and they will bring it right to your lounger, or if desired to the edge of the pool. ROOM SERVICE: We only did room service one night. The penne rigate with smoked salmon was amazing and the Caesar wrap was really good as well. COMPTON ST.: This is the bar and great for appetizers. The octopus was terrific. The surprising thing to us here was the pizza!!! We had pizza a few times and it is surprisingly good. We would usually do this after a day of excursions and didn’t necessarily feel like getting too spiffed up for one of the restaurants. COFFEE SHOP: You can get various types of coffees, lattes, frappes, teas, here as well as assorted donuts, pastries, and mini snacks here. They also have great ice cream and will make amazing milk shakes. 3. The room. Our room was amazing. They are very clean and the maid service comes through a couple times and day and a turndown service on top of that. The room had plenty of closet space, bench areas for bags, and storage place with drawers. There was a dining table, a couch with a tv in front in the front room. The bedroom had a king bed and a tv on the wall. The shower is large with a raindrop as well as a hand wand. (Warning, the hand wand comes on automatically when the shower is off. Be sure to point it away from you when you turn the shower on, or you WILL get a surprise!!! LOL) There are great amenities, soaps, gels, lotions, shampoos, shave kits, sewing kit etc. etc. etc. It was nice and everything you need is there. There is a blow dryer, an ironing board and iron, and other things of the sort in the room. WiFi was excellent in the room as well as all over the entire resort. The deck had a day bed, a jacuzzi tub, two chairs and a table. We spent a lot of time sitting out reading and enjoying the view of the ocean. We also had a rooftop with a daybed, two loungers, and two chairs with a table. This was a great place to be in the mornings and evenings. It got a bit too hot during the heat of the day to be up there, but the view was astonishing from the top. A nice feature of the room is that there is a hidden door to place room service in for them to pick up. Another one is that they have a switch that turns a do not disturb light on outside your room instead of a door hanger. One major piece of information!!! On the digital heat control panel is the master room light control. If it is blue, the room lights will turn on automatically if you go to use the restroom, get a drink of water, ROLL OVER, etc. etc. Turn that to red and they will not do that. You will be much happier and will sleep much better. A couple things that are definitely not deal breakers for the resort and rooms, but that I personally think would be nice little changes for convenience and comfort. 1. Having key code wrist bands instead of having to keep track of a key card. 2. It would be nice to have towel/wet bathing suit hangers on the inside of the shower door. 3. It would be nice to have a retractable clothes line on the deck. 4. It would be nice to have handles on the outside of the sliding doors to the balcony. (The doors have to be shut for the AC to work and can be challenging to open from the outside. Especially if you have sunscreen on you hands.) 5. It would be nice to have a bookshelf in the lobby for a “take a book/leave a book” area. (I burnt through two books and luckily a kind lady left a third one for me to read). 6. It would be nice to have a table for people to leave items that they do not want to take home like sunscreen and lotions that others can use if they run out. Final thoughts and advice before personal thanks to many staff members. This is an absolutely beautiful resort to go and relax with a small amount of higher energy activities. It is not a major party resort, but you could have a great time. I chose to come here to relax after a major family loss and to try to get my mental health back together. I made the right choice, feel much better, and made some new friends from all over as well as staff. It was a trip to remember by all means. The one thing that I highly recommend everyone do while they are here is to get up early in the morning, go to the beach, and watch the spectacular sunrise!!! It is breathtaking and makes for some great pictures. The sea grass was not an issue while we were here. The water is warm and swimmable. There is a wave break at the beach directly in front of the resort, but if you go a bit to the right there is a more gradual slope and milder wave break. Drinks can be a bit inconsistent, I drink beer so had no problem, but others with me found that some drinks were stronger to much stronger depending on the bartender. They were never bad, but if you had a light pouring bartender, they would just order an extra shot to mix in. You can bring your own mug. This was great! Bring a yeti or rtic thermal and they will fill them for you. Your drinks stay cold much longer. Also, unless you like paper straws, bring your own!!! Now the fun part. Expressing my gratitude for a multitude of the staff members who were a very large part of making this trip amazing. I am going to try and get as many as I can remember in here and I apologize for anyone that I didn’t get your name. There is a lot of people working very hard at this resort and it is difficult to get them all down to write this. All of them work different locations throughout the day, so the ones I know for sure I will note. Yohangel from the breakfast buffet and Miraflores. Jhoan from breakfast and HUZER Jerry (my brother:-)) from HUZER David from the breakfast buffet. That’s for the service and making my friend feel special! Jhulie from the breakfast buffet. Bangel from the breakfast buffet and making me amazing chilaqulies for many days. Christain for making amazing omelettes. Julio severing us at many different restaurants. Jose x 10 ;-). There are a lot of Jose’s at the resort and they are all terrific. Jose at the swim up bar is one you will for sure get see a lot and is an amazing, funny, and great person to find. Penelope from the coffee bar. Leidy from the entertainment staff. Angel from poolside and beach. Flora from poolside and beach. Angelica from poolside and beach. Now last and surely not least. Erika from poolside. Erika is absolutely amazing and I highly suggest that you find her if going to the resort. She had refills to us before we were halfway through our drinks, would bring food to us at poolside, was very attentive, and was just a great person in all. We will miss her and we’re grateful to become her friend.

The hotel complex itself is beautiful and well looked after, our room was clean and modern, I would check the hotel’s interpretation of a garden view which is a little ambiguous. Although it’s been a great holiday there could be slight improvements made to the overall experience, which would make my review a 5 out of 5.Especially the dining and drinking experiences, which at times could be massively improved upon. The biggest asset to the hotel are definitely the staff who are fantastic overall, a special mention goes to Erika our Poolside Drinks server who was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to keep the drinks flowing. All the girls at the coffee shop are so fantastic and again a special mention to Mary who was always so friendly and attentive. The sports bar staff also are fantastic and I would say serve the best cocktails in the resort, along with great food. The buffet which again whilst the staff were fantastic, overall it was a real disappointment in that it was only generally open for breakfast. I found that this reduced your options to eat. The restaurants on site whilst it was great you didn’t have to book, don’t go in them expecting to come out stuffed as the portions were small and other than the Asian restaurant most of the mains do not come with any real sides of note. In my opinion ATL Mexican 1 of 5, Sisporo Italian 3 out of 5, Chez Rose 3.5 out of 5, Sheishin 4 out of 5. Again I would like to say all the staff were fantastic at all the venues and work so hard to please you, I would say don’t forget to take $1 bills to tip them as you see fit as they deserve it. The lack of bars in the main building was a real disappointment, and the quality of the drinks was a bit hit and miss (apart from the sports bar). I should also mention the entertainment staff who again do everything they can to keep people busy, especially for 3 days we had hurricane Fiona hit the island. If anyone from the management read this review I would say to improve things Open the Buffet in the evening Have the poolside bars open longer just so it gives people more of an option You have a beautiful building in Huzur which could be used of night time, and would be real stylish place to drink ( very instagramable 😉) Look at the portion sizes within the restaurants. Apart from that the biggest asset are the staff absolutely fantastic 💙👍

We stayed at the resort from 29th August for two weeks. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. We paid for a garden view room but had requested a pool view room before we got there and were given this on arrival. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the jacuzzi bath on the balcony is a brilliant feature. We spent most of our time at the main pool with entertainment. We loved being able to use the swim up bar and also being close to the beach. Julian at the swim up bar is brilliant and always has a smile on his face! Breakfast at the buffet restaurant has a great variety of food, with several live cooking stations. The coffee shop was a lovely touch and there was also a wide selection of cakes and sandwiches later in the day. We spent most of our lunches at the seafood restaurant and the selection of fresh fish they have on offer is great. You can’t beat the view here as well as it’s right on the edge of the beach. The Mediterranean restaurant for lunch, which is above the pool bar was also brilliant. For evening meals there are four restaurants, Italian, French, Mexican and Japanese. We ate several times in both the French and Japanese. The French restaurant probably serves the nicest food and the steak was great. The Italian was nice although we felt it was rushed, sometimes you were still eating your starter and the main course had arrived. We didn’t like this as we like to take our time and have a few drinks. We ate in the Mexican once in 14 nights. It was ok but compared with the other restaurants, the food isn’t as good. The Japanese is brilliant and you have the option to do hibachi or a la Carte. We did the hibachi several times with friends that we had met at the resort and the food was always lovely and so fresh. The a la carte was great too but there are limited tables which meant a lot of people were having to queue. On one night as we entered the Italian restaurant, we were asked if we would like a special table. We presumed this would be a table decorated with flowers but we were actually taken in to a private dining room which is situated between the Italian and French restaurant and almost looks like a wine cellar. Sandy was our server and he could not have done any more for us! You could see just how passionate he was about his job and his wine knowledge is superb! When walking in to the French restaurant a few nights later, Sandy happened to be there and took us again in to the private dining room. We had mentioned to him on the first occasion how we were struggling with the white wine which was included and how we prefer Chardonnay but there was no bottles in the wine cellar. On the second occasion he produced a bottle of Chardonnay which just showed his attention to detail. Thank you so much Sandy you made our time very special! My partner also arranged a meal on the beach for us where he ended up proposing! The food was gorgeous and the setting was amazing. You also get a bottle of Tattinger champagne as part of the package. I would recommend it although it is $280. We aren’t fussy eaters but we do like nice food and we were impressed with the selection and quality of food on offer. One thing we did find a little unusual was the buffet restaurant and its opening times. One time we passed and it happened to be open for lunch but it hadn’t been on previous days. It would have been good if they advertised when it would be open to give people more of a choice. The sports bar is also amazing and it’s great having the option of a late night snack. The pizzas and ribs are brilliant. Although take a cardigan because it’s absolutely freezing!! Room service is 24 hours which was great on any rainy days or on the days we had a hangover! It does take quite a while to arrive but I think it’s quite a popular service. With regards to the alcohol choices, as alluded to earlier, the white wine was really not great. We discovered on the last day it was also only 8% alcohol! The red was nice. The cocktails were a hit or miss. The lobby bar cocktails were the best but the pool bar were all slush and a bit repetitive. If you get Claudio at the bar attached to the seafood restaurant, he will make a good cocktail! The entertainment team all worked so hard and were there from 10am until late. Red is the star of the show and she never stops dancing. The energy is amazing! Jason was also great. One thing we found a little disappointing was that the entertainment followed a one week cycle. If you were there for more than one week then you would have to watch shows that you had already seen before. We ventured in to the disco a few nights. It could be a hit or miss and there was very little British or American music played. Although one night there were only eight people there and the dj let us request songs which was great. We found that they catered very much to Spanish guests and there was little music other than Spanish music played which became a little repetitive. We went on an excursion to Saona Island and booked this through the hotel. It was a long day (13 hours) but the catamaran and island were lovely and I would recommend it. We also booked Coco Bongos via the hotel. I would recommend upgrading to the gold package. This is a good bit dearer but if gives you access to an exclusive seating area with a great view of the stage and table service all night. The drink is included in the ticket. If you buy the normal ticket then it’s similar to a nightclub and you will have to stand and queue for drinks. The show was amazing and I would recommend going. We also went for a massage at Tropical Treasures on the beach. The prices are much cheaper than the hotel and it’s a lovely setting in which you can hear the waves crashing. If you message them on Facebook, the lady who owns it is very responsive and allows you to book in advance. We paid around $75 dollars for one full body 60 minute massage and a 30 minute back and neck massage. The main things we struggled with were the alcohol and repetitive entertainment at night. Overall we had an amazing holiday and everyone who works at the resort goes above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. We would absolutely recommend booking!

Live Aqua is the best place on earth to have an amazing, relaxing getaway! We came for our honeymoon and are loving every minute of it. Between the amazing views, events offered, and the smell of essential oils everywhere you go; it is the definition of serenity. Joel, Danny, and Angelo of the Aqua Beach club always made us feel like VIP when we came to the beach, attending to all of our needs! Definitely will be a place we will be coming back to in the future and will always look forward to seeing these gentlemen!!
