We planned this trip for my husbands 50th birthday. We were flying from LAX and only staying a week. We had never been to the Cook Islands so we only planned on 2 nights in Aitutaki... big mistake! I wish we would have planned 3 nights in Aitutaki at the Pacific Resort!
The staff was soooooo nice, and everyone from the gardeners to the servers all happy to be there. The bungalows are big, you have a private balcony, shower outside and loungers to the water. They give you water shoes, snorkel gear and anything else you need for the water.
The meals were great and drinks were divine! I can't say enough about this place other than I plan to come back! I can't stop using !!!!! to describe the resort. :)

If there was ever a paradise on earth then this surely has to be it!
This resort is absolutely stunning from its location right on the edge of an aquamarine lagoon to the whole ambiance, professional service & friendliness of every single member of staff. Words cannot express our thanks enough.
They knew our individual names within an hour of arriving here and never forgot them!

From the minute we stepped off the plane on Aitutaki to be greeted by fresh floral leis,to our beautiful room by the edge of the crystal clear lagoon complete with private balcony.
Our room was spotless & complete with our every need: from fridge, a regularly replenished supply of fresh drinking water to iron , ironing board & a speedy hotel laundry service completed within just a few hours!
Food & beverage was “ to die for” from a tropical breakfast every morning to stunning dinners. Special mention of my new favourite island dish - Ika Mata- the national dish of the Cook Islands. Also the varied cocktails prepared by Fijian barman Joe whose service & friendliness warrants a special mention.
My husband & I enjoyed thee best ever massages: “ Indulgence Massages” at the Tiara Spa with 2 therapists working together to provide a reinvigorating hour . Point of note though- don’t choose this particular massage if you prefer a gentle treatment as quite deep firm massage techniques are used.

Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff to see to throughout this resort, their only desire being to give 5 star service to their guests, and believe me they did just that!
If it wasn’t so far away from our home in Scotland we would return several times per year though it is already on our “ must return” list.
Thank you to every single member of staff at the resort who made our stay a luxury experience we will never forget.
“Kia Orana” to you all.

My only tip: bring mosquito repellent though hotel does supply mosquito coils in every room!

We had a wonderful time at this resort. Every staff member was super-friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay very special. Our room was divine. It looked straight out onto the lagoon and a few steps down and we were on the beach. There are plenty of activities available for which the resort has equipment. For example, we went out on a motor scooter, we cycled, paddle-boarded, kayaked, and snorkelled. All that equipment was supplied (there is a small cost to hire the scooter). Our room was beautifully clean and thoroughly cleaned every day. We loved having an outside shower as well as another one that was outside but glassed in. Highly recommend this place.

We loved every minute of our stay in this luxurious resort. Beautifully designed and planted, it offers peace, tranquility and total relaxation. Our villa was one of 29 and like all of them was beachfront. However, the clever planting ensured our privacy. Our large bed sitting room with its high woven ceilings and dark mahogany floors opened out onto a generous deck with loungers and steps down to the white sandy beach beside the lagoon. We had four showers, one at the foot of the steps from the beach, one in a private outside courtyard and two in the large bathroom.
A small kitchenette provided tea and coffee making facilities. We also had strong wifi i our room ad aroun the pool area. The central reception and dining room is designed to capture the best views of the sun setting over the lagoon and the whales cavorting outside the reef. We love snorkelling and we could do this off the beach from half to high tide. At other times we could swim in the huge infinity pool beside the beach and bar. It was peaceful and quiet with a limited number of guests and no children. I found myself sighing off the tension in the first two days. From the airport greeting with frangipani leis, to the farewell, the service was top rate and always delivered with a smile. The staff organise anything you want from booking our snorkelling trip out on the lagoon, booking taxis, arranging lunches on deserted islands, providing bicycles, reef shoes, snorkelling gear, hiring out scooters and many other services to enhance our holiday. Our only regret was leaving after 7 nights. We will stay longer next time.

I honestly can’t put into words how beautiful this resort and Aitutaki really is. It’s one of those incredibly special places on earth that you have to see to believe. It’s beauty is breathtaking and overwhelming. My husband and I stayed at Pacific resort for our long overdue honeymoon. We cannot fault any of the services or facilities. The rooms are beautifully furnished, the gardens are so well maintained and tidy, the staff all go above and beyond for you and the food and beverages are at such a high standard. This would be the most incredible and beautiful place we’ve ever stayed. Every area of the resort is so well maintained and this is obviously due to fantastic staff in all sectors that care about the resort and guests. You can relax by their beautiful waterfall pool, have cocktails while the sun goes down, hire a car or scooter (for extremely reasonable prices) from reception, use of the gym and push bikes at your own leisure, get a spa treatment or spend all day snorkelling just from the shore. The snorkelling was absolutely unbelievable from the resort out to the right. We saw lots of species we’d never seen before and large schools of fish.
Aitutaki is the most romantic and beautiful couples destination and Pacific resort just makes it that much more incredible.
There are also fishing charters, Lagoon cruises and kite surfing to be explored while staying in Aitutaki.
We are so thankful to all the staff who made our stay so wonderful especially Rhonda, Esi, Robyn and James.
We absolutely fell in love with Aitutaki and Pacific resort and have both decided this will be a place we visit every few years.
Thank you for making our honeymoon and experience so fantastic. We will see you again.

The Pacific Resort Aitutaki did a terrific job of pampering us when we stayed there recently.

Our room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating and sun loungers. We had a double indoor shower as well as an outdoor shower.

The restaurant was top-notch and delivered consistently mouth-watering meals throughout our nine day stay. Portion sizes were always generous; we shared an entrée and / or a main course on more than one occasion.

The seating in the restaurant is organised over three levels and maximises your chance of a great view of the sunset and whales beyond the reef if you're there in the right season and have a bit of luck like we did. The best seating is reserved for residents rather than visiting diners.

My wife was very happy with each of the spa treatments she had.

The grounds are a delight and immaculately looked after.

This hotel has a significantly longer profile along the beach than other resorts along this coast which gives you more room and a natural sense of privacy. The beach is kept well-groomed (unlike some stretches in front of other properties).

However, the real gem at PRA is the staff. Without exception they were friendly, efficient and helpful.

There is not a lot to do on Aitutaki but the staff are happy to arrange anything that takes your fancy. There are bicycles available for use and scooter and car hire are also on hand at the hotel. We rented a car for half a day and topped up the tank with less than 3 litres of fuel after having been on almost all the tarmac roads and a couple of unmade roads too. We recommend exploring the island.

There are no other resorts on the island that offer the same high standard of accommodation, dining and pool as the PRA. It might be understandable, therefore, if they let their standards drop a little every now and again but that is not what happened during our stay. All the staff were committed to ensuring guests are well looked after. If you want to be pampered in a beautiful island paradise then PRA is the place to do it and the staff will ensure that is what you get.

We stayed at the resort for seven nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful. The beach bungalow was spacious, nicely furnished, serviced well and had a large covered deck overlooking the beach and the lagoon. We found that all staff from reception, housekeeping, restaurant and beach bar as well as porters and transport were friendly, helpful and competent. They combined the Pacific smile with understated efficiency. The meals were all of high quality and very fresh. As we were there for seven nights the menu became a little tired (repetitive) despite the daily specials. However, I acknowledge there are limitations to the variety than can be offered by a small resort in a remote location. Overall we had a lovely time while we stayed at the resort and if you are looking for a 'get away' from the world in a truly beautiful location you won't be disappointed based on our experience.

From our arrival and welcome at Aitutaki airport to arrival at Pacific Island Resort we could not fault the service, the resort, the accommodation and the beauty of the location.

Even though I arrived unwell from Australia, we were attended to and cared for in such a genuine way.

It was also our 45th wedding anniversary during our stay, and the resort staff went out of their way to congratulate us and spoil us on our special night.

The accommodation was sublimely peaceful. The staff who looked after our room daily were exemplary, and the lovely touches of fresh flowers every day was so appreciated, as was the complimentary wifi.

The gardens of the resort are gorgeous and are so lovely to wander. From flowering orchids to huge mango trees and hibiscus bushes, the paths meander throughout the property.

The Rapae Bay Restaurant was lovely and the staff so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfasts were particularly lovely. Im looking forward to a return visit so I can enjoy all there is on offer in the menu.
The Black Rock Cafe also had the most amazing cocktails and happy hour was indeed happy - also providing non alcoholic cocktail alternatives which were delicious.

Being in a Premium Beachfront Bungalow meant we had immediate access to the lagoon. I managed a couple of snorkels in front of the resort which were so beautiful.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and we felt very much at home.

We hope to revisit in the not too distant future to take the offered complimentary kayaks and stand up boards, bicycles etc that we were not able to take advantage of this time!

If you are after a quiet and peaceful retreat, time to regenerate, relax and unwind with five star service, this is the place to go.

Our 5 night stay at this resort was the highlight of our trip!

Prior to arrival, I communicated with the staff via e-mail. They were very prompt and responsive in organizing activities and even addressing some of my complicated questions/requests. Upon arrival, everything was flawlessly executed!

We stayed in the Ultimate Beachfront Villa, which is located towards the center of the resort. Unlike the beachfront bungalows, the villas are perched up on the hill and there are private stairs leading directly to the beach. On the way down to the beach, there is a platform overlooking the lagoon with private loungers and an outdoor shower. The villa is very spacious with gorgeous views of the lagoon from both the separate living room and bedroom. There's an additional private enclosed garden near the bedroom with another outdoor shower. Pictures on the website did not do the room justice (much more stunning in person)! My only (small) complaint about the room is wishing there was a privacy screen or door next to the toilet. It was a little odd having the toilet out in the open for such a large bathroom. We also found the water temperature to be a little fussy at times, but overall, had plenty of hot water.

Just outside the room is easily the best snorkeling spot in Aitutaki. The lagoon is huge and even after snorkeling for 3 of the days, we still felt there was more to discover! Some of the highlights we found included a moray eel, an eagle ray, beautiful clams and a giant trevally.

We ate majority of our meals at the restaurant and found the food to be very good to excellent. Though breakfast period begins at 7:30A, we were able to pre-arrange with the restaurant to arrive sooner because we had early morning scuba diving excursions. We appreciated that the restaurants staff was not only able to accommodate but also deliver our breakfast request on time! Service at the restaurant was definitely excellent!

The menu options are somewhat limited, so after several nights, the choices will get somewhat repetitive since the lunch and dinner menu is the same (except for dinner, there is an appetizer/entree and main course that changes daily). Overall no complaints with the food and we felt there was always something good to eat for lunch and dinner.

As noted above, the front desk assisted in scheduling our activities prior to arrival, which included scuba diving, swimming with whales and a lagoon tour (highly recommend the private experience). All of the activities were excellent. We also had a massage at their spa, which is also excellent and at a very good price for a resort massage (they were offering 15% off spa treatments if booked before noon).

Overall, service was excellent. All of the staff really go out of the way to address any requests or questions. Everyone is very friendly and really made our stay very enjoyable.

We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely return!

We sat at the rear of the plane on the flight from Auckland to Rarotonga. This gave us the best chance to exit the plane quickly, get through customs and meet our flight to Aitutaki.
Getting an ongoing flight gets you through customs quickly!
Upon arrival in Aitutaki we were greeted by the familiar face James. Then the familiar minivan trip to the resort.
It doesn’t change… it doesn’t need to!
That view when you walk through reception is divine! The pool with the blue clear waters of the lagoon behind.
Our room was perfect for 3 adults. The view from our private balcony included our own entry to the beach and our own lounger chairs… no fighting for them here!!
The restaurant has beautiful food. Breakfast is included with our package and you can choose anything from the menu… no buffet means no waste!
The staff are friendly yet professional.
Again our thanks to - Josevata, Tú, Rhonda, Robyn, John, Esi, Seru, Joeli, Pania, Trevor and Loriza.
The lagoon this year was stunningly clear making snorkelling and kayaking so much better.
We participated in coral planting which runs on a Tuesday with Joeli.
Booking a car was no trouble at all with a lazy drive around the island.
We love this resort, the peace and tranquillity as its adults only. You can walk along the beach and be the only ones on it.
The grounds are immaculate! The gardeners do a great job behind the scenes to ensure a perfect sight whilst strolling around the resort. The golf course is a cute 9 holes backing onto the airport. Hubby got to play a couple of times and enjoyed the 19th hole with all the locals that play too!
It’s become our second home and feel like family there.
We will go back. That is the truth!!

Apologies for the delay due to borders being closed in the reply to your question. Currently when the resort reopens we will allow children of all ages. We will reassess this once Northern Hemisphere travel again becomes viable and potentially return to 12+ We look forward to welcoming your family back when governments in both countries reopen our borders.
