The Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center has been a great place to stay while visiting my relatives in Bakersfield during the holidays and family occasions. I grew up in Bakersfield and know the area in which this hotel is located very well. For many, the proximity to the railroad tracks and some questionable neighborhoods surrounding the hotel might be...

I was here for business recently. I booked directly from the Marriott web site and got the best price. The hotel is clean and decent. It's central to everything, especially close to city hall. Service was excellent. Check in was expeditious. Since I am a gold member with Marriott and checked in online, my room was ready for me when...

I stayed one night at this hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. We arrived at 5pm or something so we decided to have a drink at the bar and have something to eat there. I had the Outlaw Burger (spicy) and it was good. I also had room service breakfast. The coffee was not very hot...

I booked this hotel based upon a recommendation. Upon arrival, the hotel had a wonderful lobby with a bar and restaurant. I was allowed to check in early which allowed me to work in my room rather than the lobby. I was surprised how much I could hear from the room next to me. There was a connecting door, which...

I had to drive my mother to Bakersfield for jury duty at the federal court house, so right away we didn't want to stay here. The jury summons recommended staying at the Marriott, and rated it a 5 star hotel. (absolutely I believe there are bribes involved there, as the room itself was maybe a hair above a motel 6...

On the road from San Francisco to Phoenix (by way of Bakersfield, blame the GPS). We were looking for a place to stay and decided on the Marriott at the Convention Center. Having no reservation was not a problem. The lobby bar was packed at 10:0pm on a Wednesday night and looked like a good place to hang out but we...

I was pleasantly surprised by the Marriott Convention Center. The staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and accommodating. Being downtown, guests have to swipe their room key in order to go up to any floors on the elevator. I never questioned my safety there but this was a nice feature once I figured it...

Clean hotel, needs some work. First impression was good. Nice lobby. Room was clean with unimpressive views of parking lot. Work trip, so it didn't matter. The ceilings on the fourth floor were water damaged and there was peeling wallpaper with mildew under the sinks that I discovered while in the bath. Starbucks in the lobby was convenient and the...

I stayed at the Marriott over the weekend on business. I prefer the Marriott because of its stellar reputation which is also why I was so disappointed with the couch in my room. It was heavily soiled on both sides of the cushions!!! I expected more....

The hotel was nice but seems very tired. It is hooked up to the convention center so be aware it does sell out . I would advise booking early. It is a quick walk from the Amtrak station if you are coming or going via train from LA or the Bay Area
