The people running the hotel are wonderful. The hotel is very basic with only basic amenities, but it is a good deal for the price and location. The guest room is updated and clean. You get cable TV including several HBO channels and good free WiFi. The room has an old building smell, but you can easily deal with it... More

We left something in our room, so we called them hoping we could get it back. They were nice and told us to just go up to the room and get it, since they were open for cleaning. Sure enough, it was still there! I'm grateful because they could have just as easily said no and just thrown it out... More

Berkeley Inn is one of the most affordable options in Downtown Berkeley. Although se were not expecting much, I was disappointed by the fact that the room had a strong smell of cigarette. I would not stay here unless heavily moivated by the price and would not recomend it for longer stays.

I spent 6 nights in this hotel, it was nice stay. The location is 10 blocks from North Berkeley Station and there's also bus stop across the street. The staff, front office, and house keeping was helpful. It was standard accomodation but for me it's fair with the budget.

The property and the room were quiet and clean. Good showers and beds. Adequate parking with 2 breakfast places nearby. The problem was that it lacked of any character whatsoever. No paintings on the wall or anything decorative. There seemed to be a few seedy characters hanging around, too. We had to carry our bags up 3 flights of stairs. No... More

For the price, it was great. The room was clean, and cleaned daily; the location was fairly central to the Berkeley area; and the manager was very friendly. My only complaints were an extremely uncomfortable pillow, which seemed rather worn out; and the noise from surrounding rooms was at times excessive. Understanding this is really no fault of the hotel's,... More

The room was the cheapest in the area. This is not a luxury hotel. No room service, no business center. Free internet access, in room fridge, instant hot water from the sink and shower. The bathtub did not have a plug for the drain and the lever for it did not work so for my room a bath was not... More

I have spent some time looking for a non-expensive room with a private bathroom in a hotel from which I could get to San Francisco downtown in no more than 1 hour by means of public transportation. Can tell you with confidence that Berkeley Inn is the best option. It is in a walking distance (no more than 15 minutes)... More

Tiny room, relatively inexpensive, good location for business downtown/on campus. I was here for a conference at UCB so it was ideal. I had several friends visit me from SF over the weekend who walked to the hotel from a nearby train stop.
