We came to Big Bear for 1 night to see the tree lighting. Apples was a wonderful place to stay, already decorated for Christmas, with homemade cookies on arrival, a cheese reception at 4 pm, and homemade dessert after 7 pm. And don't forget the amazing gourmet breakfast! Our room for 3 was well appointed complete with fireplace, recliners, and... More

My recent trip was my third visit to Apples Bed and Breakfast. I have always been impressed with the attention to detail and you really notice the "Apples" theme everywhere you look. It is now under new ownership and the new owners have taken this place to the next level. They have repainted a bright pink color that really catches... More

Apples has always been a great place for me to take my scrapbooking group for a weekend retreat, but it was getting a little worn around the edges. The new owners who took over in the early part of 2016 have really made some amazing changes... new paint, the garden has been beautifully redone with an amazing stream and lots... More

It's been years since I've been here and now under new ownership, but still holding all of the things I remember and held dear to my memories of before, Apples Bed and Breakfast is a must stay at least once. It's a comforting place with all the features of an Aunt's home or Grandma's house, fresh cookies, appetizers and of... More

Just returned from our 13th annual Fall Scrapbooking Retreat at Apples. Warm & welcoming as always and delicious meals. New owners have made significant improvements to the grounds, providing an even more relaxing atmosphere. Can't wait to return in the Spring!

We were traveling home from San Diego on Labor day weekend when my husband says,"let's stay in Big Bear!". I immediately start looking for cabins, none available of course. Then I thought maybe a B&B would have something. So glad they did. Smelled phenomenal. They greeted us with homemade cookies, yummy! Clean and a jacuzzi tub in our room. Breakfast... More

I was there for two nights with a group of friends. This B&B and known for its breakfasts and they are not kidding. The breakfasts were phenomenal. I don't eat eggs so I don't like going out for breakfast unless it's a buffet where I can get lots of fruit. Breakfast here is not a buffet, but they inquire about... More

I spend two weekends a year at Apples with a group of friends. We have been coming here for 12 years and Barbara and Jim never disappoint. We love the breakfast, the rooms and the giant living room we can gather with other guests and share stories and our lives. Because of such great experiences, I have brought my family... More

We stay at many B&Bs throughout the U.S. and never have we had a better experience. In addition to comfortable, unique rooms (all with fireplaces), the breakfasts are more than incredible and nothing like you get in even fine restaurants. They also serve homemade desserts and appetizers every evening. Apples B&B is also owner operated. It is a great place... More

“Big Bear is a nice quiet town and although the inn is on what is considered a main street, there is very little traffic, especially at night. If you are sensitive to every little sound though, choose a room that does not face the front of the main house.”
