Just came back from a Scrapbook retreat. MANY MANY people became ill within 24 hours of contact with sick owners. Twenty-One people checked in one area by Sat evening 9 people were vomiting. One would think food poison, but we believe since the owners were sick they simply didn't contain their owns germs. Barbara made no provisions with ANY guest...

The place has gone downhill each year I go but I must say this is the worse weekend crop retreat I have been too. The conference room tables and fridge were filthy, it's where we had to fill our bottled 'filtered' water. Filtered through what the sewer line?! The Inn keepers were very rude in speaking to me when I...

I am sorry this person did not enjoy their stay. There was a flu outbreak in their conference room - we were told 5-10 people got sick over the weekend - 5 did not come to breakfast on Friday morning, and 5 did not come to breakfast on Saturday - and I was told someone got sick after they got...

My husband and I have stayed at Apples B&B for 7 out of the last 8 Novembers. Every fall, right before the holiday rush, my husband and I pack up several books, my Christmas ornament crafts (that I make each year), comfy clothes and head up to Apples. We love the abiance and relaxed atmosphere. We usually go up on...

I've stayed at Apples in Big Bear several times in the past few years & just love it every time. It is spacious with a lot of rooms, but it doesn't lose the country charm feel. The hospitality from Barbara & Jim, the owners, is consistently warm and wonderful...and so are the fabulous breakfasts, late afternoon snacks and desserts! Many...

It’s unfortunate that some of the other reviewers did not have a very good experience here, as my husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We made our reservations on very short notice, and they were one of the very few on our list that still had availability. It was Christmas day, and although it was only supposed to be...

Our scrapbooking group just recently stayed at Apples and we had a fabulouse time! This was my first B&B experience. We stayed 3 nights and I shared a room with 2 other ladies. We stayed in the "Liberty" room which was a very large room on the second floor just above the conference room. It had very charming country decor....

Most people stay at B&Bs for the warmth and hospitality they offer. The room was clean, the food met expectations, but the service was unsatisfactory. From the moment I called to let them know we'd be there in 20 minutes, we did not feel welcome. We arrived shortly after lunch. They charged us an extra $100 for my 3 &...

My husband and I just returned from a 3-night holiday weekend stay at Apples. First let me start by saying that we travel frequently, both professionally and personally. We have stayed at all types (B&B, Inn, Hotel, Motel, Ranch, Hostel, Barracks) and levels of accommodations (1-5 star). To us a B&B is all about the food and the personality of...

We just stayed at this B & B on advice from friends and what a mistake. It seems that the Inn (20+ rooms is not a B & B in my book) is for sale and the attention to detail is just not there. With the new addition there were so many people sitting down for breakfast I thought I...

Apples is one of the best B&Bs I have found for good old-fashioned romance. There is also the bonus plan of being well-fed at all times! This was my second stay at Apples. My husband and I needed some time together away from the city. We travel a lot for fun, and there are 2 things that stand out about...

“Big Bear is a nice quiet town and although the inn is on what is considered a main street, there is very little traffic, especially at night. If you are sensitive to every little sound though, choose a room that does not face the front of the main house.”
