Detailed Reviews
It's stressful to travel during the pandemic so I hope this will be helpful. Overall I felt that the staff was taking things seriously, here are more specifics:
Masks
I saw staff members wearing masks 99% of the time. I saw guests wearing masks about 60% of the time. When you are out and about in Camarillo, most everyone wears masks.
Cleaning
Housekeeping comes once every four days instead of every day. I'm not sure if you could request more frequent cleaning if you want. We requested towels a few times and they took a long time but they did come. I rarely observed staff cleaning common areas.
Food
This hotel only has a breakfast buffet and happy hour (I think?) during normal times. There is no restaurant/no room service. Now the breakfast buffet has been changed to a paper bag containing hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffin, or granola bar (choose two). Pretty sad, but what can you do. No coffee but there is a coffee maker in the room. Happy hour and mixers are canceled.
Pool
In order to achieve social distancing with the pool, you sign up for a 45-minute slot, and your family has the pool ALL TO YOURSELF for this time. This is the BEST and I wish they would keep this policy forever. :)
Entrances/Exits/Elevators
The building is only three stories, so you don't have to use the elevator if you don't want to. The hotel is all in one building but there are multiple entrances so you don't have to go through the lobby all the time.
Outdoor Areas
The rooms do not have balconies or private outdoor areas. That's a bummer. There is an outdoor lounging area that smells of cigarettes because only smokers use it. There are a few outdoor tables in a sad but shady area. My daughter and I ate our meals there a few times, and I worked there for a few hours. Few people use it.
Some non-covid things:
Wifi
I was working the whole 5 days I stayed there and I never had problems with the wifi.
Parking
I see a lot of people complain about the parking fee. I found a deal that included parking, so take a look around at all the different sites. I had the remind the front desk that my deal included parking, but then it was no problem.
Room
The room is good! Kitchenette, desk, mini dining table.

Every year we have to stay in a hotel while they fumigate the fields nearby our home. In the past we have stayed here at the Residence Inn in Camarillo. We have a dog so I needed a place that would allow pets but also a place that we could cook at/have meals at since we cannot leave the dog alone. This year was the first time I used the app. Our dog passed away last year so it was unnecessary for us to stay here but we know what the place has so it was a choice of familiarity. As I said I used the app, booked a suite. When we were informed of a change in dates, was able to make the date changes on the app. So all was good using the app until it was time to check in. We need to leave our home early in the morning of Tuesday so of course you cannot check in that early, so we book for the Monday night. Apparently checking in on the app is not good enough. When I arrived on Tuesday morning, I was told my reservation was canceled due to “No Show”. I had told the receptionist that I did check in on the app, she told me rudely that was not good enough, I should have called the front desk and told them. So apparently checking in on the app does not guarantee you have checked in. DO NOT USE THE APP FOR CHECKING IN!! At least for this hotel property. Fortunately for the hotel and for us the room was available but this may be our last stay here.
As for the property itself, things are little more worn and upkeep standards have a look of things sliding. It could be as a hotel, things get used frequently and probably take a beating or it could be management issues. This time and the last time we stayed here were probably the first time I felt the room cleanliness lacking. I not sure if it is how the cleaning schedule - once a week for stays over 7 days and obviously short term stay when you check out. Paper given to you at check in does state to contact hotel for any housekeeping needs not scheduled but also it could take up to 24 hours to fulfill the request.
They are now charging $10 per vehicle per day as well. For us that is $20/day since my husband and I both have vehicles. This is the first time we have been charged for parking.
For the hotel’s plus side it does has kitchen with sink, refrigerator, stove with oven, dishwasher with limited amount of basic kitchen cookware, dinnerware and utensils, allowing you to be able to fix meals in your room. There are no restaurants with in walking distance (less than a mile) with the exception of the Subways across the street in the gas station, but there are quite few nearby restaurants.

We stayed in Residence Inn for 7 months now due to a business assignment, expect to stay for another 2 months. The hotel at the weekends were full of quests due to its convenient location and free hot breakfast, even though it’s room rate is relatively expensive.
Front desk workers were welcoming and polite but a little slow in response if issue occurred. But we did not run into any major problem during that 7 month’ stay except they cannot guarantee your room requested days before arrival. Even you are Platinum card holder.
Room is nice and clean, wi-fi is just adequate but not near “excellent” as promised, breakfast is proper with limited items, Equipment in the small Gym room is noisy and towels are often lacking.
Location of the Hotel is excellent: entrance of highway is just right at the corner, restaurants nearby(in old town) are plenty, Outlet(Mall) is just minutes away.

During our recent stay at the Residence Inn in Camarillo CA, we found the facility to be less than acceptable. After checking in and showering after our flight, my wife found that the hair dryer (which is a stated amenity) was not in the room. Upon notification to the front desk, they finally delivered the hair dryer to the room, but it was well after my wife’s hair was already dry. While there is coffee off the lobby in the morning, we were up early and wanted to make coffee in the room; unfortunately, while there were packets of coffee in the room, there was not a coffee pot. And during our stay, we killed two cockroaches and one spider in our room, each of which were delivered to the front desk at two separate times; their response each time was “oh … we’re so sorry about that”. No action taken … just a placating insincere apology. They boast about a sanitary hygienic cleaning of each of their rooms, but that clearly was not the case. Our bathroom floor had spotting around the toilet that appeared to be dried urine spots, but perhaps just a poor mopping; nonetheless, we mopped it up ourselves with one of the bath towels and cleaners. And we can’t responsibly complain about the noise in the hallway after 11:00PM because we did not report it, but clearly they do not enforce the rules of courtesy that are posted upon check-in.

We arrived 3:23pm, checked in on 9/09/2022 for 2 nights at Residence Inn by Marriott in Petit street, Camarillo, California . Attending wedding the next day of our niece. Our cousin- father of the bride visited us the first night till 11:30pm. The next morning 9/10/2022, went for breakfast (lobby) .
After hours , getting ready for The wedding I went to ask an envelope from the front desk and saw our friend in the lobby then proceeded to the parking towards church wedding then the reception till 10:45pm. Arrived hotel, access the side door not main door -towards their market store in the lobby.
Early morning of Sunday(9/11/2022) , checked our hotel bill and surprised of $12.00 plus tax as market beverage. Went to front desk prior our breakfast. The staff as “night audit “ named Raina who helped us was so rude. Not being helpful at all, said “ she claimed that they asked the name of the person who took a bottle of water her/his name and room number matched our ours !
I asked the ticket or charge slip - couldn’t provide and asked her “did you asked her/him driver license? Replied “No”. Hence, she took off with “no apology” at all that they charged wrong guest or wrong number .
I told her I do the same job as “Front desk” and work with one of the biggest hotel in San Francisco for 33 years.
I told her I don’t come here to inform you that posted charge a stuff that I didn’t and don’t lie .
My work used to be with Marriott hotel chain for 9 1/2 years and I still know how to treat guests.
Also, went back to get new receipt and told them that the room we were staying has plenty of ants in the bath tub, floor which I sprayed “lysol disinfectant “ however the next day still have some ants and a bug 🐜.

Stayed for one night because it is walking distance to my son’s home in Camarillo. The room was large and very comfortable. The facility is tidy, clean and modern. It is way overpriced for its category, and there were a few disappointments. I booked through one of the major travel websites and the price included parking. The hotel charged me $10 for parking anyway, and just billed my card for it… even after I told them that my price was to include parking. Also, though the bathroom appeared clean, the remains of someone’s BM was still in the toilet. To me, that is inexcusable.
If you need to be in Camarillo for an extended business trip at a corporate discount or on the company dime, this is still a good option. If you are in the area on vacation paying a retail room rate, stay far away from this place.

Searched the Internet for pet friendly rooms. After visiting various travel sites and not being given option to include my dog, I called hotel directly to confirm pets were allowed. Advised all rooms are pets friendly and asked if I should book with her. She basically suggested to book online. NO mention of $150 fee. I booked directly on Marriott site and they authorized $288 to my credit card. This was a surprise visit to my son’s house before he deployed to Guam for 6 months. We arrived just after midnight on Friday night and I had mentioned I would only have the dog that night but the next night he would be at my sons. STILL, no mention of $150 fee. Upon check-in, I would have taken my dog the few blocks away to my son’s had I known it would cost me more than the nightly rate for my dog to sleep 7 hours there. There were 3 opportunities to be notify of fee. With all the fees, my charges went from $288 authorized to over $457 for 2 days stay. Very disappointed and feel they were deceptive after having so many opportunities to be up front about fees.

Receptionists were welcoming and our room & bathroom was clean. The lobby was also well-maintained and also clean during our stay. Our booking included a free breakfast, which was decent; There was a variety of items to choose from. Location was also great – close to the outlet mall. We would definitely stay here again!

I booked here because of time and location. I’ve stayed here before this is not a clean hotel by any stretch of the imagination. But my experience this week has me posting reviews over the unprofessionalism of the manager Carl with a K. He argue with me over a parking fee instead of saying sorry it wasn’t part of your reservation but we do charge a fee and will waive it this time but next time there’s a fee no that’s what I’m the real manager would’ve done. Not him he decided to argue with me that he was right over the parking fee and lost my business forever. You don’t treat guest the way that they treat guests

Good Morning Ms. 111dontcontact, We appreciate your feedback regarding our property and how you have come to the conclusion that our property was not clean as you did not even stay with us. I did not argue with you over a parking fee, I simply reiterated that our parking fee is charged to all guests who park a vehicle with us in which you did admit you have a vehicle. You refused to pay the parking fee because in 2020 pre-covid there were no parking fees. You were creating a scene in front of our guests over your refusal to pay a fee that all guests have agreed to pay when parking a vehicle with us. If you would have been polite and respectable to the situation we may have been able to waive this fee however you approached this situation in a very unpleasant and hostile manner. We wish nothing but pleasant guest experiences and we will continue to do that for all our guests. Thank you and have a fantastic day!

Recently, I visited Camarillo, Ca. and stayed at the Residence Inn - Camarillo for 3 nights. My stay was very comfortable and hassle free. The welcoming staff members were friendly, engaged in small "chit-chat" and assured me that I was in for a pleasant stay. I found the room/suit to be very clean and stocked with essentials if I choose to prepare food on my own. My only concern, as with any hotel that I check into, was the bed. Was it nice and comfortable? Well, I can assure you that it was. My wife and I slept like "babies in a rug." :) Very, very comfortable. The parking was adequate though there is a $10.00 parking fee. As I departed, I ask my wife..."Is this a do-over?" and her response was "very much so."
