This location could do much better with a few small things: Ditch the $10 per day parking. This isn’t NYC. It’s just annoying and off putting considering one can park a block away on the street just fine. Breakfast is bleak. Add granola and peanut butter and daily bananas. It would go a long way to improving a really really unhealthy set of choices ( sugar and sugar and sugar) Front desk staff would benefit from some training on friendliness. Prickly to deal with. I heard other strangers at breakfast saying the same. Very unhelpful in general. Otherwise very clean and quiet. Comfortable room.
DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT SAFE AND THE STAFF IS INCOMPETENT. I’ll try to keep this brief. -Me, my fiancé, and our two month old unknowingly went to this location instead of the Moorpark location. -Staff gives us a room based on our last name and does not check reservation number -TV says “Welcome” with the wrong name listed (Correct last name, incorrect first name) -I call front desk to make sure that we are not in the wrong room and they assure me everything is fine -We travel to Santa Barbara and realize we got a room at the wrong hotel -Returned to Camarillo Marriott at 9 PM to go to sleep and check to make sure we weren’t being charged at both locations -Receptionist tells me they GAVE ANOTHER SET OF ROOM KEYS TO OUR ROOM TO THE COUPLE WHO WAS ORIGINALLY SUPPOSED TO STAY THERE -Receptions tells me WE HAVE TO PACK UP AND LEAVE THE HOTEL AT 9 PM As someone who stays at Marriott hotels whenever traveling, I am very upset about this experience for a number of reasons. -First, this mistake should never have happened--the receptionist had copies of both of our ID's as well as my fiances name on the Explore Program sheet. She should not have placed us in the wrong room and should definitely have shown more care when I called the front desk to double check to make sure that we were in the correct room. -Second, this could have been extremely unsafe for my family, as strangers had access to the room where we had our belongings and where we would have been sleeping. Had we not realized the mistake, the other group who had been given access to our room could have came in while we slept, which would have been extremely frightening and dangerous. -Third, as paying Marriott guests, we should not have been thrown out of a room and hotel that late at night due to an error that a Marriott team member made. We had to repack all of our things and move our 2 month old daughter to a new room. I am thankful that we realized early enough and did not have strangers coming in to our room while my family was sleeping or out. Once again, DO NOT STAY HERE!…
Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Camarillo is an okay budget stay. But a couple negatives overshadow anything good. They charge $10 to park even if you are a LIFETIME TITANIUM BONVOY MEMBER. This is crazy. Especially when you can park just a few spaces down for free. Yes it’s the principle of the thing. Where’s the perks anymore for being a loyal member for decades? And the biggest disappointment is the use of styrofoam, plastic ware and plastic cups!! Ventura County and the City of Camarillo has banned this but Marriott seems to think they are above the law??!! So so disappointed in you Marriott. Saddened to think of our loyalty to you for years but you do not care about Mother Earth and the environment! EPS BAN Effective January 1, 2022, the City of Camarillo will prohibit the use of expanded polystyrene (EPS) food and beverage containers, furthering the City’s goal of providing cost-effective, efficient services while minimizing impacts on the environment.…
DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL I do not understand how a hotel corporation like Marriot hires such an incompetent staff (Concierge on Thursday at 4 PM). I arrived with my wife an hour earlier, or they gave us the room for arriving earlier (NOWHERE IN THE WORLD HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ME), my wife had to go to a meeting, she left me her passport to check in and I I stayed with my son (two years old), when the time was up I tried to register and he did not give me the room because my wife was not there. I just got out of surgery and my son had a slight fever. I await any response. If Marriott is a serious corporation, I hope that a hotel manager will contact me.
After a long day of walking, we were hoping to soothe sore muscles with the hot tub, but it was lukewarm and the attendant had no idea how to fix it. The pool was warmer than the hot tub. Now, I’m lying in this hotel wide awake because the light and fan in our bathroom turns itself on and off randomly throughout the night. There’s also not a shortage of space here, but they are charging for parking! It’s clean, but the Residence Inn seemed really nice - try that as an alternative if you want a decent hotel experience where you can actually sleep.
We planned an event with friends and they did a lousy job. We had made this reservations weeks in advance and the adjoining rooms we reserved were changed and the manager who came in later said any of the staff can change rooms. What the use of making reservations 3 weeks and guarantying them with management. This hotel was closed for renovation for years and opened back up. Our shower in our executive suite was in poor condition and had rust in shower and it had been there awhile, see picture. We had left wake up calls only to have them be forgotten. Front desk staff was useless and they have perfected the apology, what they should be working on is customer service.
Don’t stay. Front desk is incompetent and the managers “really busy” so busy he cannot make a call to rectify what should have been a simp fix. He won’t return my calls, I’ve called three times! Dani they’re agent made a reservation for my family and I for the wrong day and times. To make matters worse they have now chargers me 3 times for a reservation that they made in error....really? I am traveling for a funeral and now I cannot stay close to family because they are sold out and won’t attempt to make it right. Now I have to account for an additional expense which I needed to travel with. Thanks Marriott for messing up my travel arrangements and family time. So much for their guest standards. Do better!
Amazing hotel!! Staff was super friendly and helpful and rooms were very clean! Really close to many shopping and food outlets. Loved how it was right off the freeway which provided great access. We will definitely be back!
Such a clean and beautiful hotel! Great new breakfast and rooms were very well designed. Comfortable beds and staff was very kind and helpful. Great stay in Camarillo. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great clean hotel with nice pool and outdoor seating area. They did a decent job with the free breakfast with a variety of items to choose from including a hot breakfast sandwich, cereals, juices, fruit, breakfast bars, etc. Much better than many hotel's grab and go breakfasts. Conveniently located to the 101 and only 15 minutes from Channel Islands NP visitor center and Island Packers tours. We would stay here again.
