When my wife learned of this, she wanted to help me out and went online and found the Days Inn Camarillo. The pictures on the website show a sparkling, clean room. She also knew friends who had stayed here a decade earlier and enjoyed their stay. Canceling that room in Simi Valley turned out to be a bad decision.
I arrived at night but immediately had a foreboding as the property looked uninviting and dirty. I had no other choice though and hoped the room would still be nice and clean.
It wasn’t. It is dated, the carpet is old, frayed in places and has multiple large stains. The first time I turned on the bathroom sink after brushing my teeth, the water tasted horrible and I spit it out quickly and the drain then stopped up and stayed that way overnight until maintenance repaired it the next day. The condition of the bathroom is so uninviting that I couldn’t bring myself to even take a shower. I found a nearby gym and have used their showers each day.
I’m trying now to figure out what to do. I’ve been so busy with appointments that moving to another location hasn’t been possible but I may can swing that in another day or two.
The only positives are that the room is large with a lot of table space so that’s where I’ve placed my bags as I don’t even want them touching the filthy carpet; the bed itself is clean and comfortable and the Wi-Fi works good.
It’s too bad that pictures on the internet can be so deceiving!
I decided not to tell my wife because I didn’t want to cause her stress but she flat out asked me about the room and I had to tell her the truth. She felt so bad.
My advice: Don’t stay here!
the parking lot and staircases and hallways are being blocked by 50-60 men hanging around drinking and smoking, making rooster noises all night long. The room was not vacuumed, the bathroom sink had a crack, the shower pipes wanted to jump out of the wall when being used. no body seemed to care what was going on. The bed still had the indentation of someone laying tere before we got there. felt very unsafe..... i want my refund. and till this day no one has reached out to me after giving me a claim number.
