Hotel and its staff go above and beyond to make your experience a memorable one. King ocean view suite was amazing. You will not be disappointed view was perfect and it was amazingly quite in the evening
If you are like me when I was looking for a place to stay in Cambria, you will find lots of hotels along Moonstone beach and have a hard time telling the difference between them. Even when you get in town and drive down Moonstone Beach Drive they all look pretty similar. We picked Pelican Inn and Suites based on availability and room selection. When we got there we were greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff that got us setup in the room, did an upgrade on the spot saving me some money and spent time explaining everything. She made great dinner and breakfast recommendations and even told us of some of her favorite destinations in town to try. We had a wonderful time, sat out on their bench outside and watched a spectacular sunset and walked along the Moonstone beach board walk. I would highly recommend that when you look for a quality hotel in Cambria consider the Pelican Inn, we had a great time!…
We booked this hotel to break up our drive going to San Francisco for the holidays and I'm sure glad we chose this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean and the views were incredible! I would come here again.
Very nice, clean room and great location on Moonstone Beach but lots of other issues so I would not recommend it. Housekeeping/room service does not exist--you must put used towels outside the room to get clean ones, and to get a new roll of TP you must walk to the lobby and ask for it (two buildings away from our room). There are few convenient power outlets and no USB ports to charge phone, tablet or laptop. No elevator so a need to climb stairs to the second story rooms--this caused us to upgrade to a first floor room at an extra cost of $70/night. Cambria is a lovely place to spend a few days, but I am sure there are better places for the cost of this quite expensive property.
We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. The front desk lady Carman was really nice! We had a king room upstairs facing the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and great pillows. It had a bench seat at the window overlooking the ocean. A nice gas fireplace. Room had a frig and microwave and little coffee maker. It had a small table and two chairs. They had 2 robes in the room. Ironing board and iron. Also a big tv and it worked great! They don't serve any breakfast. My only complaint was the hot tub wasn't hot enough. They said it was 90 which isn't that hot. 100 to 105 would be much better. Didn't stay in as long as we would normally because it wasn't hot. We would definitely stay again. Very clean and extremely pleasant!
Staff, room, view, all great! Loved it, will return. Moonlight Bar&Grill was great food and right down the street from the hotel, walking distance. No complaints, other than would have loved to be on second floor! But overall, Amazing view! I will definitely stay at Pelican Inn again.
Closet door off track, almost fell on me. Bathroom door didn’t close. No water bottle left as courtesy for coffee machine. No ice in ice machine. There was no brochure in the room about the town. The lack of these things made it feel like the room was just rushed being put together. The hostess was friendly when we checked in, but overall it wasn’t a welcoming experience. Will go elsewhere next time.
While the service is kind and accommodating, the dated rooms are not. I'm not usually a thread count person, but my elbows were scratched-up from the sheets, and the mattress needs to be replaced. We stayed in an ocean front room, and obviously the natural beauty can make one overlook these things. Still, at the price I would need serious updates to stay at this hotel in the future. I have visited Cambria many times in the past, and plan to do so in the future, just not here. I wish them the best. .
The location here is beautiful and I know that's what we were paying for, but that's about all we were paying for. We upgraded to an ocean view room with a patio. A full $427 for one night. We could not open the patio screen door because it fell off every time. So we ended not being able to use the patio at all. When I lifted up my pillow, there were stained brown streaks on the fitted sheet. Gross. There was a 18" long cobweb hanging from the ceiling that I had to duck under, which caused me to look up and see that the fire sprinkler heads were just covered in thick dust and cobwebs. The ceiling fan did not work. It was unclear if it was broken, or if the controls were broken, as the "Low" button on the control was missing. There was an external light from the hallway that shines directly through the bathroom shower window into the room and keep the room lit all night long. I felt like I was staying in a budget motel, and not somewhere where we paid, again, more than four hundred dollars for one night.…
Very outdated and beat-up. Carpet dirty and stained. No perks at all. Dog friendly, but no dog area. Lobby staff very friendly and helpful! Room was dreary and no comfortable seating. No USB charging station.
