We LOVED this place! The rooms are basic, but they are clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning works well, and we didn't see so much as an ant inside of our room. The staff are amazing! We felt so cared for while we were here. We loved the thermal pools at the spa, and the hotel offers great activities at very good prices. We did horseback riding and zip lining. The pool and restaurant are also very nice, and the grounds are beautiful. We saw monkeys on a couple of mornings, which was amazing. I can't give a stronger endorsement than this: we originally booked for 3 nights, and then planned to spend 2 nights in a different hotel by the beach. After spending 1 night at the other hotel, we all missed Canon de la Vieja and decide to come back. It really is someplace very special.

Rooms are very very basic. There is air-con, hot water and wifi, but dont expect a TV. The stretch of the Colorado River that runs through has a very nice stretch where you can swim and is close to the hotels thermal springs. We were glad we went.

My husband and I stayed here one night with our three kids, ages 8, 9, and 12, as a close lodging to the park. As someone with MS I really appreciated how much more navigable / accessible the place was than many others. We went in the low season -June- and got side-by-side cabin rooms at an amazing price. The rooms were comfortable and we seemed to have much of it to ourselves- the pool, the restaurants. The pool is truly amazing and the staff is so friendly- my kids will not forget being served their Fanta at the swim-up bar and the oldest got to sign the check! Their zip lines look amazing, wish we had had time to try them.

This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I definitely have plans to return. The cabins here were basic with no frills, but they were very clean and well kept. The grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed the mud baths and the warm springs located in the Spa area. The breakfast café overlooking the Colorado River served delicious food with stunning views. The dinner served in the pool area was fresh and wonderfully cooked! I wish we could have eaten there more often. We spent time relaxing in the pool and watching the wildlife while we were ending our day in the jacuzzi tub. Overall it was a fabulous visit and I can't wait to repeat it!

My husband , my 2 kids and I spent 1 night here when our flight was changed. Wish we had booked more time here. Very cute little cabins , the lodge is surrounded with beautiful flowers, plants and trees. The pool area is nice and the bartender at the pool bar was very friendly and made delicious drinks! My favorite part of this stay was the food! Having a good homemade meal made this trip perfect! Lunch , dinner and breakfast was amazing!! Those 3 meals beat all the meals we had the whole week stay at the Riu. The homemade juice was delicious too! We did the tubing and I will say it was a little scary lol. I have done tubing in many counties but these rapids were fierce. There were 4 of us and 3 guides and they did a wonderful job staying where the rapids were strong and making sure we didn’t flip. My kids wish the rooms had a tv but it was nice to see them not clued to one. I do wish there was a mini fridge in there. We had some sodas and water that we would I’d liked to keep cold. We had a minor issue with red ants (gosh they hurt when they bite) but I sprayed my organic bug spray on the edges of the bed and it seemed to make them go away. We are in the jungle so I can’t be made a few bugs entered the cabin.
