We stayed here for 2 nights and what an unexpected gem this was. The pictures on their website do not do it justice. The pool area is new and clean. The hot springs are amazing and a perfect way to relax before dinner. Walking the property you see every type of bird and many animals as well. Rooms are clean and well maintained, probably the best we saw on our stay in Costa Rica. The entire hotel was shutdown for the pandemic and only reopened a few months ago so the staff was still working out a few kinks. However the staff was still friendly and accommodating, and service was above and beyond to make our stay as wonderful as possible. Worth a visit for a night or 2 if you’re a couple or small group.

I needed a place to disconnect and recharge and Borinquen Thermal Resort was perfect for that. The rooms were large and clean, food was great and staff was awesome. I had so much to do: zip lines, hikes up to waterfalls and horse rides. My guide was great and we spotted monkeys and birds in the rain forest. The hot springs were a bonus in the afternoon right before dinner. The Borinquen resort is huge and has so much to offer and as a bonus there aren't many rooms so the place never really gets crowded. This place is a hidden gem.

This place is amazing! My wife and I stayed here and we feel that the website and pics do not do this place justice. Borinquen exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful, the rooms are private and very comfortable with great views. The meals at the restaurant are exquisite! The staff is wonderful and attentive. The tours are all on property and fantastic. The pool and thermal pools are amazing and the spa is relaxing. We enjoyed everything this place has to offer over the course of 4 days. Even though there was some maintenance and new construction happening, it did not take away from the experience at all! We enjoyed our massages from Joanna & Marcela, the Top of the World hike with Felipe, the Four Senses Canopy and Horseback riding tour with Fernando, Warren and Jorge, and our great service at the pool bar from Diego. The servers at the restaurant were all great, especially Howard, as well as the ladies at reception, who arranged everything for us. Lastly, we saw/heard all kinds of birds and animals. Toucans, and Monkeys by the pool, This place is a must! We will return again.

My husband and I booked this resort as our final stop before returning to the UK. The details advise it is 3km from parque national Rincon de La Vieja. We were looking forward to visiting the parque each morning to do the hikes and trails then relax at the hotel spa and pool in the afternoons. The hotel is in fact a 1 1/2 hour drive from the parque. The road from and to the hotel is very rough with large pot holes making that journey even more challenging. The hotel grounds are very nice but areas still under construction and maintenance. The pool is very good and the mud baths. The only place to eat is the restaurant as no other nearby options. Despite the lovely staff the options on the menu were frequently unavailable and overpriced for uninspiring quinine. I would suggest you only come here if you want to totally chill and not go anywhere else and you are not a foodie.

We stayed in a Junior Suite and it was excellent--the bed was very comfortable and the space was perfect for us. The shower is very refreshing! We enjoyed the thermal pools, spa (massage) and the horse back riding tour of waterfalls. Our guide for the waterfall tour was Luis Fernando and he was very knowledgeable of flora, fauna and the history of the area. The restaurant had many choices although they did have some limitations on the menu later in our stay. That said, the staff of the restaurant were awesome! Very easy going but also attentive to our needs. The grounds of the resort are immaculate and we saw a lot of birds, bats and monkeys. It is very quiet at the resort and comfortable. One thing to note is that it is very hilly at Borinquen, if you have a car that is no problem.
