This was our last stop on our awesome adventures in Costa Rica. Great place to just relax or hike to see the beautiful waterfalls. The hot springs nearby are a must to spend an hour or two relaxing in a beautiful tropical paradise!
Great place to stay for visiting Rincon de la Vieja National Park as it only a short shuttle bus away from the entrance. Hotel offers free shuttle service to several attractions, which is a nice perk. We had breakfast and dinner at their onsite restaurant....More
This place is fantastic! Spacious, immaculate accommodation in the most beautiful grounds. Great food, and breakfast is particularly good. Lovely walks on your doorstep and animals everywhere (if you want them!). The staff are absolutely brilliant. I just wish we could have stayed longer!
Two families with both children and teens. The adventure tour was a once in a lifetime experience. Zip lining was amazing but don’t miss out on repelling/ rock climbing experience built into the zip line excursion. It’s so worth it! It’s not simply a zip...More

The hotel will provide transportation to the park, and you can hike all the trails on your own if you're so inclined. The trails are very well marked and you are given a map when you pay the entrance fee, so it's all well planned. You also have to sign in and indicate where you plan to hike, so the park people know you're there, and where you should be.
The volcano is not within hiking distance, and there are no trails to it (but there are plenty of things to see there instead--and there are several other volcanoes in CR you can go see).
Hello. It's not necessary. Guachipelin provides transportation to the national park, oropendula waterfalls and the hot springs. At the adventure office transportation is provided for the other activities.
