We have just spent 3 nights at this fantastic friendly guesthouse. We arrived early (1030 am) after getting the bus from Sapporo - we were welcomed with a smile and an apology that our room wasn’t ready. We weren’t really expecting it to be until later in the day - however just 20 minutes later we were shown to our “Deer” room. A lovely comfy clean twin room. While waiting for our room to be prepared we filled in a form specifying what ski equipment we needed. In less than 30 mins there was a knock on the door - our ski’s and boots had arrived!! We bought a lift pass from the guesthouse too and were on the slopes (less than five minutes walk away) before 1200! We ate at the guesthouse on the first and last evening - food was fantastic, fresh local produce served with a smile. The guesthouse serves beer (draft and bottles) and has a decent wine list too. Each evening after dinner we were taken to a local onsen - the two we went to were amazing. The lounge/dining area is a lovely spot to chill out and chat to fellow guests. Massa and his team looked after us so well, nothing was a chore for them and it was fun spending time with his friends from Bangkok. …
If you’re looking to stay in Annapuri and away from the hustle of Hirafu while still having a great pension experience then look no further. Done in a unique style the staff are friendly, talented and always trying to make he best experience possible for their guests. As others have said, dinners here are divine! A Kaiseke style meal every night with multiple plates and superbly prepared. There’s a game room under the main dining area, shared bathrooms on the ground floor along with a fireplace and blankets to watch the snow fall outside. The hosts can organise ski rental, discount lift passes and often after dinner offer a tour to a local Onsen. There’s something magic about bathing in the snow, 700m above sea level. We stayed in the Eagle room, slept without too much disturbance. If you’re a late riser you may wake up to snow clearing outside the window, but why when there’s so much great skiing to be had!…
There is a fire place with confortable pillows and blankets, a piano, games, many plants, free tea, big and delicious diners, and a very cosy view on the snow. It's like an enchantment to stay here. Milky house has the perfect size, it's like a big family, you meet other customers very easily in the cosy commun room. The owner is suuuuper friendly, we had very good nights together :)
We have stayed in a lot of hotels in Niseko, but this one is definitely our favorite! I highly recommend this place especially during winter! Location: It is in the most perfect location, just an easy 5-minute walk to the nearest skii lift during winter or hiking places and lakes during summer. Accommodation: We stayed at the start of winter and it's very cosy. Our room is very clean, complete with everything - heater, towels, blankets and toiletries. It has two beds and a nook in the above, with one comfortable futon. I love how they styled the room, not to mention the awesome view of the mountain in the window. Food: The variety of food that they serve is what I love. It was all delicious and you can get all the nutrients you need for an adventure. Activities: They offer alot of activities in summer, and also in the winter. They let me borrow the sled when we got there and it's one of my best experiences in snow! There's also alot of boardgames and indoor games to play in the inn Host: The host is really the best thing about this place. Masahiro san, the manager were very welcoming the moment we arrived in the place. He talks to every guests and does everything to make sure that we enjoy our stay. We only stayed for one night but he introduced us to his cool woofers and we all spent an awesome night together, playing chess, foosball and play station. He shared some of his travel experiences and was also very happy to hear our stories. Overall, the stay was the best that we had in Hokkaido and for sure we will be back to visit. The price is very worth it!…
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Milky House for a few nights and absolutely loved it! Masahiro, the manager, is the best. He is so very helpful and the nicest person you will ever meet. I can not recommend this place enough, as we were thoroughly impressed with everything from the food to the room. Also, the Inn is in a fabulous location and we enjoyed a couple of great hikes close by. Thanks so much Masa!!! Ross and Hannah :)
I'm coming back for sure. Milky House is gratifyingly not too far from the slopes, offers a dropoff in the morning to hirafu, are incredibly friendly and so, so very cozy. Breakfasts are great but you MUST have dinners here. The dinners are capital A Amazing and we had meals that really blew our mind. They also offer onsen tours. Also helps that they're next door to our favourite bar, Choi Choi!
This place ticks all the boxes. Few minutes walk to Annapuri Gondola and friendly service. Staff picked us up from Northern Annapuri (the bus from chitose stops there), there is a daily onsen tour. The owner, who is extremely friendly, drives guests to onsens daily at no additional charge so that guests can enjoy his handpicked selection of onsens around niseko. Dinner there was also delish at an affordable price. Most guest seem to be returning guests so it speaks a lot about this hotel!
I couldn't be happier with our stay at Milky House. It's a short walk to to the ski fields at Annupuri, the rooms are decent (standard lodge accommodation). The thing that really sets Milky House apart is the food - the breakfast and dinner are chef-prepared meals of a very high quality.
Milky House is just 200m away from Annupuri so it is in an ideal location for those who wanna ski. I was there for just 2 nights and I wished that I have stayed a week instead. The breakfasts and dinners are cooked with love and they are one of the best food. Every meal is prepared by the boss Yasuhiro and his team. This feels back at home. Every night after dinner, you can opt to go out of the house for authentic onsen experience which Yasuhiro will drive out. We were lucky to try the Koikawa onsen which is one of the oldest. We got to experience onsen in the middle of the snow, with the backdrop of a mini waterfall. I must go back again in summer or spring as the scenery is going to be completely different from winter.
Stayed for 2 nights at Milky House. As it was the tail end of autumn, my group of 4 were the only guests. The house is warmly decorated and we were shown around the house and were told that we could use the karaoke/video screening room. As mentioned by other guests, Yasuhiro-san will drive guests to different onsens in the evening. The meals provided are as good as any big hotels in terms of quality. The rooms on the first floor comes with ensuite bathroom but the rooms upstairs share a common toilet on the 2nd floor and a bathroom on the ground floor. This might be a little bit inconvenient to those who do not go for the onsen but since we love onsens, this is not an issue for us. We would recommend driving in Niseko as public transport is infrequent and not well connected. You would also need your own set of wheels if you stayed in Milky House as it is not located in the town centre. Although it is near to the town, it is not walking distance. Would recommend travellers to Niseko to stay here.…
