This is a great little inn just a short walk from the main area. Our room was cozy and well appointed with a fireplace all ready to go (we didn't take advantage). We weren't able to enjoy the wine and cheese but did love the breakfast - homemade casserole and bread. The innkeeper and all the staff were super friendly...

We have all heard the phrase 'location, location, location'. When we saw the Inn for sale in December 2012, we immediately recognized the value of its location. Nestled on the edge of the residential area of Carmel, yet only three blocks from the main street, Ocean Ave.; ideal...quiet, without many cars or visitors walking by some 12 or more hours...

They do a great job selling this place with the carefully taken pictures and descriptions. We had no major issues but wouldn't stay again. On the plus side, they are friendly. I didn't love the fact I had to check with them to see if they wanted to know dietary restrictions. Got a very fun "absolutely. We want you happy,...

We are very disappointed that your stay with us was problematic and not what you expected. Carmel has twenty six B&Bs and they vary greatly in style, food and beverages, décor, and staffing. At our Inn, we all try to make each and every guest feel comfortable and have a good quality stay with us. That we failed for you...

This inn is so cozy and charming. The rooms are immaculate with a personal fireplace. Breakfast each morning was delicious and fresh. The innkeepers were friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great as it is just a short walk to downtown. Our three night stay seemed too short as we would have loved to stay for a week or...

Thank you for your high marks on our Inn! Of the 17 Inns I have owned in the Monterey Peninsula, for me The Garden Inn stands at the top in terms of guest appreciation. We all love being here and enjoying our guests and sharing each others interests and stories. Thank you for being with us and again, for your...

If you are looking for quaint, charming, quiet and walking distance to downtown Carmel then look no further! This is my third trip to Carmel but the first with my children (ages 10 & 12) so we needed a bigger place that could also accommodate our dog. The people who greeted us couldn't have been nicer, more helpful or more...

Thank you immensely for your wonderful comments. From the time we purchased the Inn in March 2013, we have tried to consistently capitalize on our location, our garden areas, the wood burning fireplaces in all the rooms and, most especially, focus on giving our guests a quality experience. We have more than 150 years of living in the Monterey Peninsula...

Me and my daughter had a fantastic experience staying at the hotel this September. It was our first trip to Carmel, I have picked Carmel Garden Inn because it had great reviews, reasonable pricing, great location and breakfast included! The place has exceeded my expectations! Both owners and staff were knowledgeable and friendly, they shared their knowledge of the area,...

We all love working here at our Inn and take great pride in giving our guests a quality experience, far more than just a place to stay. My husband and I recently paid our second visit to this delightful inn. We stayed in a smaller room this time - Jade - and it was a perfect size for the two of us. Everything is so clean and peaceful here. After having spent four days in San Francisco this was a welcome change of pace. The afternoon wine...

More than forty years ago (I was about 30) I had become a hotel broker. I was passionate about our industry, and was eager to lead others into operating hotels, motels, Inns along the path I had chosen when I bought my first motel in 1966: Give guests a good quality room, good beds and linens, furnished well; price the...

We decided to stay here last minute and it was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful room, great location and thoroughly helpful staff in both the morning and evening- felt very 'personal' compared to more corporate hotels. Must stay!

Curtis, Mary, Dennis, Betty, Susan and myself thank you for appreciating us and our Inn. After owning more than fifteen Inns around the Monterey Peninsula for fifty years, The Garden Inn has attracted the finest people to work with me here that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. My wife and I loved this place. Very clean, comfortable rooms with a nice kitchen and great towels. Even a wood burning fireplace!! And the gardens were so beautiful and relaxing. I personally appreciate your comment about the quality of our towels. Susan, my wife, and I purchased the Inn three and a half years ago. Having owned 17 Inns in the area for the past forty some years, I had several strong opinions as to priorities. Bed linens and towels in my list were in my lower half; Susan's list...

I so enjoyed talking with you and sharing insights about our area and Carmel. One of the many things I love about being here as a host at our Inn is visiting with interesting people from around the world. Thank you for appreciating our food, our rooms and us. Our room was absolutely lovely, comfortable, spacious yet cozy! We so appreciated the amenities of the small kitchen nook off of the main bedroom, along with the gorgeous private courtyard. Our five patio suites have totally new bathrooms from basement to attic. All the patios are freshly painted. Our bistro dining rooms now serves a home made hot item changing each day for breakfast and we have added lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies right from the oven to our wine party. The wood for all ten fireplaces is seasoned pine and lights quickly, cracking with natural warmth to offset the summer foggy evenings in Carmel.
