I have stayed in over a dozen places in Carmel, and this is definitely #1 on my list. Besides a clean, comfortable room with a fireplace stocked with wood, we received a welcome wine and cheese spread with cold cuts and cookies, as well as a real breakfast with warm food, along with the usual offerings. Free parking is provided. The staff was warm, friendly, and informative. I will come back here again.
We loved our four night stay in one of their patio suites. Very comfy bed, sweet settings, and kept immaculately clean. The breakfast and wine and cheese hours are an added plus. The location is perfect. They are situated on a quiet residential block, a short walk from the plethora of grey restaurants that Carmel by the Sea has to offer. All of the staff were so friendly. We will be back.
Having just returned from Carmel we wanted to say that the Carmel Garden Inn was a welcome break after a busy time . We arrived to a very friendly welcome and a bottle of Prosecco. Innkeeper Curtis and the very nice young man Conner who covers the afternoon and early evening shift was happy to chat . Although quirky, the lovely big bed was so comfortable and there was a real fireplace although we didn’t use it .The breakfast was fresh and delicious and the afternoon wine and snacks were a very nice touch. We found Conner to be a great asset to the establishment with his good humour and excellent customer service skills. The inn had a very nice feel from the start we had our own small courtyard with a beautiful scarlet rose. The gardens are well cared for so all in all a great experience and we would go back again!…
AMAZING cute, intimate, friendly B&B. I was so pleased to find this gem! I've stayed at a lot of different lodging in Carmel and I'll only stay here from now on! The staff, most especially Connor, are the most friendly, kind, helpful staff I've ever encountered! I can't recommend this gem more! Thank you Connor and staff for making my trip so memorable and special!
This was our first time in Carmel. After driving 12 hours from Portland, OR, Connor greeted us with complimentary wine and cheese. The garden courtyards were amazing and our suite, while not very large was comfortable and had everything we needed. Plus the breakfast was delicious. This is located within walking distance to downtown and the beach. Connor and Gaby were so nice and welcoming. The town also seems laid back and up scale at the same time. The beach was beautiful and the sand powdery. We are seriously planning our next stay. The only thing we will change is to stay longer. :)
This B&B is nestled in a neighborhood of fairy tale cottages and within walking distance to the quaint town of Carmel with all sorts of shopping and restaurants to enjoy. The bed was so comfortable and the room had all the amenities we could want. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices and we truly enjoyed the afternoon wine, cheese, crackers and delicious cookies .... The innkeepers were super friendly and kind. We had a great time!
If you are considering staying here, do it!! I was a little hesitant as I typically gravitate towards more modern/boutique hotels and inns, but was pleasantly surprised with this quaint, charming inn. The value is great considering the location, included homemade breakfast and wine and cheese happy hour. The room felt welcoming and and clean. We loved being able to light a fire in the fire place in the room (a real wood fire!) that was all setup and ready for us to light, such a treat after a chilly night exploring downtown. Diana was extremely pleasant and gave wonderful recommendations and made us feel at home right away. Plus, our fur baby was able to comfortably stay for $25. Would stay again and recommend!!
Carmel Garden Inn was the nicest place we stayed along our recent drive down the coast. The room was beautifully furnished, had a working fireplace, and, important to us, bed was comfortable! Although it was a bit too chilly during our stay to dine outdoors, the rooms all have a lovely, private patio. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions about local sights. Full breakfast, with made to order frittatas, and a wine and cheese hour (actually 2), just added to the experience.
I can’t express enough of how wonderful our visit was! Breakfast 5*****, wine and cheese 5*****, cozy*****, and friendly 5*****! My mother’s bucket list of a cozy inn by the beach (check!) At night after dinner we would light the fire and watch a movie from the hotel lobby ❤️. We had our own patio to sit and visit as well nibbling on cheese & chips with homemade cookies still warm from the oven!
First time staying at the Carmel Garden Inn. Very happy to have found this unique reflection of the true bohemian spirit and artist character of Carmel by the Sea. Over the phone reservations friendly and informative with Curtis. Cozy breakfast room and check in desk. Several couples enjoying wine ( lots available ) 😀and cheese upon our arrival. A delicious cheddar and a soft Brie. Freshly baked snickerdoodle cookies! We met up with new friends for drinks after dinner. Our room, #4, had a wood burning fireplace, very comfortable and clean bed, soft linens and a darling retro breakfast nook with microwave and coffee/tea station. Large TV, DVDs available to borrow in lobby. Big roomie closet. Bathroom had enough shelving for my travel products. The decor reminded me of our cabin in Tahoe when I was a child. It brought back wonderful memories. We’ve stayed in MANY b&bs in Carmel. Far more expensive. Nowhere near the charm. The breakfast served was plenty to start your day: cereal, yogurt parfait, toast, frittata and coffee/tea/juice. We will certainly be back!…
