We were seeking a budget conscious accommodation that was not a branded hotel . We found it here . Cozy cabin with fireplace. Clean and walkable to beautiful downtown Carmel. Met our expectations. Saw several maintenance men working on exterior grounds and buildings - seems like new owners are on site . I hope they repair the koi pond. Drop the “ resort” name . It’s not .
We had the pleasure of staying at the Carmel Resort Inn in February and we enjoyed our stay. The fella at the check in window was friendly and helpful and the grounds were nice and peaceful. Our room was very spacious and very clean. The bed was comfy and the fireplace was a very nice touch to our room. The price was fair for the Carmel area and it was fully booked which says something about the property. Thank you kindly, Kenny N.
Overpriced for what it was. It’s rustic, not mobility friendly, didn’t use shower, the room was freezing, spare blanket was used, gas fire was turned on. The major drawback is the thinnesses of the walls, we could hear our neighbour laughing and moving furniture, we could hear them walking around. I highlighted my concern with the front desk/reception, it made no difference, the reception did offer me a refund however as I was travelling with my elderly mum I was concerned about getting another place to stay locally. Tea & coffee in the room, bed is big & comfortable
On a long road trip. The resort is actually cabins in a residential area. Our room was rustic with mismatched furniture an old fashioned bathroom. The room was clean. Also the rate was reasonable. This is not a resort, bit if you want very basic accommodation that is clean this place is fine.
The place is a dump. I was told by the mgr t'he owner doesn't want to put $ into the property." He's achieved his goal. The furniture is worn, the walls need to be painted, grounds unkempt. The unit was clean to be fair and the mgr is pleasant.
This place seems to be in a constant state of repair, as before reviewing I glanced at some of the older reviews, and pictures of wood and debris scattered about the property are still there! We wanted to bring my mother-in-law here as we absolutely love Carmel, and we were drawn to this place because they had a suite with 2 separate bedrooms. We paid over $400, and it was absolutely not worth it. The controls for the temperature didn't seem to respond. The room overall seemed very dirty, The floors were dirty. Nobody wanted to even try to shower, and we all decided to wait until our next stop to clean up.
Stayed here since we wanted somewhere inexpensive in Carmel. I was pleasantly surprised that rooms more individual cabins which I preferred. Rooms are rustic so don't expect modern, sleek. Bed comfy but bathroom needs a bit updating. I liked that we were able to park our cars right outside the cabin and we even had a fire pit where we sat out by the fire. Would be back here again since within 6 blocks walking distance to downtown and price.
The property is located within a walk of downtown (probably 8 blocks). Their rates are very reasonable for the area. It is comprised of several small cottages. Most have a parking spot next to the cottage. There is a nice patio area in the center of the complex. The cottages were old but were clean. The inside was nothing fancy but the bed was nice and comfortable, (good TV, microwave and fridge). They are pet friendly with a nice area to exercise the dog. Definitely worth it.
We rented two cottages for overflow holiday family (1 person per cottage) and it's fair to say it was pouring rain and exceptionally cold. The main problem was lack of adequate heat in the cottages which have cute pretend-fires but that, along with the plug in heater supplied, still didn't give a livable room. Bed warm and cozy but sitting around in the cottage not feasible. The property is super rustic -- eccentric as befits Carmel -- and the pavement and paths uneven and stairs required. The cottages are mostly in pairs. It looked like there were nice outside areas for sitting, but in the rain and cold we didn't try that. It was, compared to what else was on offer, a good value for the 3 night stay. And it's a 15 min walk to town, 30 to the beach.
Finding places in Carmel is a bit of a challenge, finally placed a pin on the GPS so that we could get back here, at night it is especially difficult. This is a series of cottages, ours was quite large with two queen size beds. However is wasn’t well maintained or furnished. There was only one chair, one luggage rack and one night table. We requested and received an extra lamp for the bathroom because the bath fan/light was so noisy I couldn’t stand to have it on. My friend took a bath and had the water spigot fall off while the tub was filling so the water was simply coming out of a pipe. Not dangerous but not what you expect when you are paying over $150/night. Front desk person was very helpful and responsive, brought us a lamp and moved a table from outside to inside so we had a place to put things down. No drawers or dresser and only 5 hangers in the closet. Just not up to the standards I expect.…
