Was glad to leave - very disappointing. Tiny bland room, with no fridge or glasses, an ice bucket is provided but no ice available. Soft, lumpy bed, so we were up and out as quickly as possible. No breakfast facilities - nearest restaurants and cafés of Carmel a 6 minute car drive away. May have been given the worst room (given that all other rooms had a name, ours just a number - 103) but that wasn’t reflected in the cost. Felt we were in a hostel. Perhaps other rooms are better, but our experience was not good - avoid room 103.
This is the second time we’ve stayed at Vendage. The rooms have been nicely decorated. I loved the fabulous landscaping- beautiful succulents and flowering plants everywhere. Our room had a back door that opened onto a charming quiet patio where we could sit and read. Our room was quiet, comfortable and clean. Best value in Carmel!!
I booked a 'cottage' which was was clean with odd decor, let's say early formica. The cottage was a giant room and from what I could tell, it was a stand alone structure. Just a weird vibe overall. It's a mile from Ocean Ave and up a significant hill. No street lights so it's dark as a tomb at night, took many Uber's. I'm an active guy but nobody wants to walk a mile in the dark, uphill, after wine and a fine meal. I've been to Carmel a number of times and the town is timeless and a delight to visit. The price was right but I'll not stay here again even at a cheaper rate.
Although check in time was at 3;00 pm The room was not ready till 4:00 pm. The front desk service was terrible. The inn is too noisy since it is on Main Street. I will never use this inn again. It was total waste of time and money. I had a very bad experience.
We received a complimentary ‘upgrade’ to the Kitchen Suite. This ‘suite’ is literally the kitchen of a former home with very minimal renovations to make it look like a hotel suite. The whole suite was just very chopped up. Huge full kitchen, tiny bedroom and very strange bathroom. No care was put into the decor in fact I think it was still decorated when it was lived in as a home. In the morning we had no hot water to shower. No one at the front desk until 8am. Called the overnight service line and woke someone up. She told us to wait until 8 when someone would be there. We needed to be on the road by 7am. Finally a knock on the door and she said it was fixed. Still no hot water and the girl said she didn’t know what was wrong. Waited until 9 for the office manager who was told another guest lost power all night. She came in to the ‘kitchen’ and reset the fuse box for the building. We were supposed to spend 2 nights. Luckily we were refunded for the 2nd night. Also - It is not walking distance to the town. Would have scored a 1 but the office manager felt very bad and easily refunded us.…
Wine Lovers Paradise as wine is the theme of this lovely, romantic Inn. We had a second floor room that included a sitting area with fireplace, bedroom with balcony patio with table and chairs, and small but functional bathroom with walk in shower. Lovely gardens and fire-pit with chairs to be enjoyed by guests. Comfortable bed in this quiet location. Parking lot small and specific parking spot per room. Friendly, helpful staff. Note: lobby is not 24/7 so plan accordingly. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Inn.
I can’t thank the staff at Vendange, especially Cyndy, who worked with my ever changing reservation dates. The room was perfect, the people were nice, and when I needed a wine opener, they had one! I highly recommend the hotel for a very personal and accommodating experience.
When I called they said it was a 15 minute walk to town but it’s further, you actually have to drive. Also our room has a wee bit of a mildew scent,I asked for a different room because I have bad allergies to mold but she said they didn’t have any even though we checked in@2:30 and there were no cars in the lot🤷🏻♀️ Our room is clean and the bed is comfortable but for $374 bucks (ridiculous)I expected more, but it’s July on a Saturday and it’s Carmel and it was a last minute getaway and no other hotels had available rooms so… It’s mediocre@best but it’s just for a night.
Vendange is a very nice hotel. The grounds are clean, attractive, with sitting areas outside the rooms. My room had a comfortable bed, was very clean, and had an updated bathroom. It is a little ways from the main shopping area in Carmel, but walkable to shops and restaurants. I would stay at this hotel again
What a great find Vendange is! Clean, up to date, quiet and so convenient just off Hwy. 68 outside Pebble Beach and near Carmel proper. Simply delightful! And rightly priced! Wish we were staying longer it is so comfortable. Proprietors very friendly and helpful. Be sure to arrive before 8pm as the office closes.
