Location is great and the folks are running the place are extremely nice. But we were expecting more from this place in terms of the room, especially for the price.

Very pretty hotel. Lovely, light, large rooms. Breakfast included in our rate was very good. Great location between the beach and the restaurants. Carmel itself is a beautiful town.

Very happy with our choice of somewhere special to stay at the start of our trip down the California coast. Lamp Lighter Inn lives up to all the accolades from others, from the friendly reception to the family atmosphere created by the social wine & cheese get-together in the late afternoon. They really do want you to use the fireplace!...

I did a lot of research before our trip in California. I found the Lamplighter Inn on this Website, read the comments and booked. I was impatient to get there and see by myself. My husband and I were very satisfied. We got there when the sun was coming out of the grey clouds at sunset. It gave the place...

This was our first trip to California, and our stay in Lamplighter Inn was one of the many experiences that helped to create a fantastic holiday. Should be in the Carmel area again we would make Lamplighter Inn our definite choice. Staff were great, place is delightful and the room we had (Sea Otter) was very relaxing!

We made reservations at the Lamplighter Inn in Carmel for the week before Easter. We had never stayed there before so only knew what we saw and read on the internet and tripadvisor. We booked four nights in the cottage titled Katydid. It was one of the smaller or maybe the smallest cottage there. We loved it! Everything we needed...

We just returned from a week in California... and I must say the highlight of our trip was our stay at the Lamp Lighter Inn at Carmel. The owner Denny is wonderful and his sister was a terrific hostess! We were traveling with our kids, and this was a great place for the whole family. We loved the fireplace in...

Our family took a wonderful weekend excursion to Carmel for my grandma's 85th birthday. The Lamp Lighter was in the perfect location, the rooms were very clean & comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back.

We recently stayed in the Lamp Lighter with our 3-year-old son. The inn is charming and the rooms are lovely and quiet. The location is also great--just a short walk to the beach and shops. I hope that they improve the breakfast experience--it was disorganized and they kept running out of necessary things (utensils or eggs), causing people to wait....
