This was a great place to stay - it was quiet, rustic, and quaint. I thought it was the perfect location - tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag, but a ~5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. Also very close to the beach. Amazing value for the price. Also, it was nice to...

Booked for one night as originally we thought it was only going a whirlwind stop on our West Coast trip and so glad we couldn't extend to two.The woman behind the desk could not care less when we arrived, I think we interrupted TV show and be grudgingly took our names, gave us the key and generally pointed in the...

Perfect, little secluded inn just blocks from downtown. The inn has a few remodeled rooms in the "main house", and 4 "rustic" rooms each with its own outside entrance. There's a beautifully landscaped, private courtyard with a fireplace for cool evenings. We had a rustic room that was very roomy and comfortable( bed, linens, robes). And what a bargain for...

Delighted with our stay at the Homestead. Super location, very comfortable and would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Having read the reviews on Trip Adviser we opted for the Homestead and were not disappointed. This is a charming little place so suited to the environment and Carmel.

I was on my own and I love the location of the place and I felt comfortable staying there, especially since some of the rooms are updated and spacious. It still keeps the quaint style of architecture in a redwood motel with all the conveniences of being close to Ocean Avenue, the restaurants, shopping etc.

My wife and I stayed here in August 2016. This is my second trip to Carmel. If you have never been it is important to know that most of Carmel is elegant but understated. Most properties including hotels, restaurants, and shops have a rustic and quaint appeal. There are no high rise stucco hotels. Most hotels really are inns that...

I'm somewhat reluctant to review this place, only out of some selfishness, to keep it a secret for our next visit to Carmel. It may not appeal to everyone, especially those who are all about modern luxury. But if you want a clean, comfortable place to sleep, right in the middle town, and like to save your money for "doin'...

Love this place! Its what I imagine vacationing families 60 years ago would enjoy. There is a main building, rustic on the outside but with spacious, renovated rooms inside. I prefer the wood cottages. There are 4 - two with tiny kitchenettes and two without. They are referred to as 'unrestored' but are clean, bright and delightful. One has a...

The Homestead Inn is a very nice, quaint little place to stay! I visited Carmel by the Sea for a friend's wedding in March 2016. It is a cute little town and the Homestead Inn fits right into that. The Inn was within walking distance of a lot of the restaurants and shops the town has to offer. It was...

The Homestead was a great place to stay while in Carmel for the marathon. Very rustic (room 49) but wonderful location and nice to have a kitchenette. Do not stay here if you want up scale. This is a quaint cottage like atmosphere. We loved that our room was next to the pretty courtyard. But can be noisy if s...
