This is a very nice hotel in Carmel by the Sea. Probably one of the best properties there. Our room was on the small side but it was clean and comfortable. Your stay includes one of the best breakfasts you can have anywhere. Thoroughly enjoying sitting on the patio enjoying breakfast on a beautiful day. Evening wine tasting from local...

Fantastic classic ? hotel in heart of Carmel. Semi-pinkish, maybe a touch of Hawaii here. Easy parking, FANTASTIC FOOD and restaurant. Decent swimming pool. Everyone walks down to the beach but it is rarely swimmable as are most California beaches

The La Playa is located close to the water so one gets a good sense of the sea via the sounds and smells. The property is wonderfully landscaped with lovely flowers and sculptured plants, and has a pool and places to sit and converse in the garden. It is sloped, so one needs to be careful when walking with luggage...

It's old and pretty, but it seems to be from the 1950s. There is no valet when you check in. Self parking around the corner. There is no elevator to get to our room on the 4th floor. There is no AC at all. It was over 80. There is no safe in the room. The TV is low def....

I stayed in La Playa recently with my family (3 kids in one room, my wife and I in another), whilst on a trip across the USA. Of all the good hotels I stayed in, La Playa was my favourite, with excellent service, fantastic breakfasts, free wine tasting every evening as well as cookies and milk for the kids. I...

Fantastic hotel. Cannot recommend highly enough. Firstly location : On a quiet street a stones throw from the sea, with free resident zone parking on the streets surrounding. few minute walk into central Carmel. The room : very pleasant decoration, very comfy bed. We were lucky enough to get a top floor room with a sea view. However believe there...

My husband and I stayed at La Playa for one night as we were driving up to coast to San Francisco. The whole grounds of La Playa are beautiful with a very French/Tuscan feel. Our room was basic but comfortable for just our one night stay, we were on the bottom floor with the only downside a lot of loud...

Nice clean comfortable room overlooking a pleasant garden. Breakfast buffet choices were comprehensive, enjoyed the omelette station. A fan was provided in the room which was appreciated. Location was central to the main Carmel districts and convenient to walk down to the sea.
