Construction makes it almost non-functional with no amenities (unless you consider dodging mountains of construction debris and ladders a "gym" on the property). OSHA violations, lovely construction materials to step on when walking to the partly opened pool area (caution tape ropes off the hot tub area), ceiling panels missing with pipes dripping in the hallway .... Complaints are responded to with snark and sass rather than acknowledging the construction issues. Hi Brian Great to hear from you AGAIN. We do appreciate hearing from all of our guests. Unfortunately we don't have any record of you staying with us, not even a canceled reservation. How unfortunate you were so horrified by the renovation occurring during your visit? Unfortunately there doesn't seem to have been any mention of your concerns to any of our staff (because you didn't actually have a reservation here ?) as had there been any issues you had, and there seems to be a few, could have been addressed immediately. We agree that the Paloma RESORT is quite lovely as a RESORT and we are just a Hotel but will be a more beautiful Hotel once all renovations are complete. Perhaps you will then give us the opportunity and actually stay with us. We do look forward to seeing you in the future

On the check- in email message they advertise "Enhanced global cleaning protocols. IHG Clean Promise to you". After following email check-in instructions we also checked in at the front desk. At no time were we asked if we wanted housekeeping during our stay. The housekeeping staff were all over the hotel so on our second day we mistakenly assumed they'd be cleaning our room or at least straightening it, removing trash and leaving clean towels. We got NOTHING. I called the front desk when we got back to the room at 4 pm, they said it was our fault for not requesting housekeeping at check-in. No one ever told us that housekeeping was not included unless we requested it (with an average price of $350 per night at Holiday Inn Express!) . Hey, I don't expect a lot, but a clean towel might have been nice. Additionally, our coffee machine was broken, tissues ran out, hallways were dirty and look like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks and breakfast closes at 9:30 PROMPTLY, with an obnoxious front desk employee yelling at the staff to SHUT IT DOWN! PS: to the management, we do not require a scripted response…

Rooms were very clean and location is perfect to do everything you want to do while visiting. Didn’t find the staff super welcoming. In fact, we couldn’t get an extra bath towel for our room until we turned in a dirty one. Yet, they are not doing daily housekeeping yet. Anyway, good thing we didn’t need much more than one bar of soap.

The outside looks ok but the inside is an old property. Reception is old. We have been upgraded to a suite but it’s only the name. Ok the room is big but it’s so old. Bathroom, no glasses to put your tooth brush. It seems that walls are thin as we could hear our neighbors speaking u til midnight. And they were not shouting or listening to TV but speaking normally. Breakfast is not as good as we had in same property before. Coffee is way too strong, cinnamon rolls too dry, toast bread too dry. I mean this is a 300$ night. Not impressed at all. Reception lady though very friendly

Place is outdated and needs a renovation. Check in ok but no info about local area, restaurants, sights or any other helpful info. Tried to take a bath but jets were moldy and gross. Told front desk and she would report it for cleaning the next day but told me jets don't work in our room or any others anyway. Good to know. So next day jets are semi cleaned, still some mold, obviously I won't be taking a long soak on this 5 day vacation. At least we got clean towels that day, but next day no clean towels and beds not made in 3 days now. Front desk says not unless requested each day. Worst 3 star hotel I have ever stayed at. Won't be staying at Holiday Inn again.

The facilities are nice but they scream “90s” and “paint me!”. The important things are clean like the bathroom and the bed but this place is in serious need of a re-do. The furniture and fixtures in the rooms need replacing and so do the carpets, especially in the hallways. The pool, hot tub and outdoor areas a clean and well kept. The staff are friendly but honestly for the money I expect something a little nicer. I got 2 nights for $109/night but I noticed at times a room here can go for $270. If I had paid $270 to stay here I would not be happy and have a whole lot more to say but this place is about average for a $100/ night hotel room in Southern California these days.

The room was dated, and the air-conditioning was very loud and couldn't cool the room. Our room had 2 queens, and a sleeper sofa, while spacious this room has seen a lot of use. The bathroom had some broken tiles, there was stains in the bathroom and on the sofa cushions, floor, etc. After opening the sofa bed, it already had used sheets on it, though there were some clean ones zipped up in the closet, but there was no blanket. Underneath the sofa was a half-empty water bottle left by prior guests. The queen bed I slept in was hard as a rock and the room never really cooled down. The breakfast was OK. The staff served breakfast and there were sausage links, cheese omelets, potatoes, and scrambled eggs. There were also some cereals and some packaged muffins, some cartons of apple and orange juice. It was disappointing there were no cinnamon rolls, hard boiled eggs, the juice machine was taken offline because of covid, the pancake machine was broken and there was no waffle machine. In years past my mother has stayed at this property when visiting family. I was in town and staying with in-laws. The stay was not going well, and rather than argue, I decided to get a room at the HI-Express my Mom liked. I walked in around 8pm without a reservation and a very nice room, a mini-suite, was found for me. The quality of the bed, and my sleep were excellent. The room was spotlessly clean, the HVAC worked well and the staff, very professional. I would stay here agian.

Third time staying at this hotel. Still great clean friendly place to stay. Enjoyed the pool. Across the street we had dinner at the Barrel District - great food! Great protection for COVID- breakfast is good. Always feel very comfortable as soon as you walk in - staff are very friendly.

The front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs during my stay- they made copies and printed out documents, even though the business center was closed, provided me with water so as not to get dehydrated in the desert heat, and even shared a corkscrew with me (with the admonition to please return it because they're getting a lot of drinkers recently). The hotel and rooms are fine but it's really the front desk staff that shines. Thank you!
