the resort located on the other side of bintan island, took us 1,5 hour drive to the location.

the resort location is wonderful, the staff is caring.
the room definitely seen better days but the view from our jacuzzi suite is wonderful & breathtaking.
the food quality and choice could be better, but the price is very local-friendly.

unfortunately there are no working table in the room, which we can't really complaint because the resort aims to be relaxing resort, to which they are spot on.

all and all, it is a very quiet resort, we felt like we are in our private beach resort with less people around.
that make us feel safe even during pandemic times.

note to management:
1. clean up the beach please, there are many trash and debris in the beach in front of the pool.
2. use google forms for self health assessment during check in to make contactless check in process.
3. an idea, it would be nice to provide beach sandals in the room, because the beach is literally packed with sharp shelled shellfish

My son's wedding was held at this resort last Saturday and I will like to express our gratitude to all the staff and management of Spa Villa resort for their great service and hardwork in making this event so beautiful. The whole setting, from the tea ceremony room, the beach ceremony setting and to the outdoor dinning was so elegant and beautiful, I must admit it exceed my expectations. Not only we as the hosts are impressed, our guests were also impressed and were full of praise. I have also received good feedback from our guests on their rooms'bedding and bed sheets, which were very comfortable and that they have a good night sleep. Thank you so much to June, Edmund and their team.

Stayed at Bintan Spa Villa to attend a wedding held there. The staff were very welcoming and put in great effort to ensure that the wedding was smooth sailing and memorable. As most of us had a rocky boat ride, the owner decided to serve us ginger tea instead of coconut milkshake as the welcome drink. Very attentive, thank you. Rooms were adequately equipped. I had say go for the more expensive rooms as they are newer. The food were reasonably priced and tasty for resort food. We had almost all our meals there - I had say go for their nasi lemak, the sambal was mean. The calamari were very good and we went for seconds. If you are sick of the food at the resort, you can always head out, Turn Left and walk straight down for about five to ten minutes and you will find a zichar like stall that serves yummy food at a fraction of the price but beware of the many flies! Loved the nasi goreng there! We didn’t have time to try the activities there such as snorkelling but heard many good things from people who tried. I went for the 2 hour massage, can’t remember the exact name of the spa package I did...But it was well worth the price! They had other basic facilities like Swimming pool (albeit too shallow and small to accommodate too many people but most of the time, it’s vacant), hot and cold pool (smth like a jacuzzi) and of course table games like foosball to keep kids entertained. All in all, a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle. Thank you for the kind hospitality.

The view is wonderful (except for the oil dropped by boats that prevent from the blue ocean) seems to be usual in the area.
In addition the lady in the morning at the guest counter is definitely eliminating the efforts of the whole hotel team by her negativeness and showing clients how meaningless they are.
The minibus from the hotel onboards 15 people (13 places) to avoid preparing another vehicle with not enough seats for all. The security glass breaker kit is no longer in the van.
And when you have to pay 10 times the local price for a visit you also have to wait for the driver to fuel the van at the station for like 10 minutes...

Room are decrepit and moist.
In conclusion, there are many other places on the island that shall be much better for travellers than this one.
Disappointed customer treated like nothing...

Response from Edmund Cheong, Other at The Spa Villa Bintan
Responded 23 Feb 2020
Dear Guest Thank you for writing in to us and sharing with us your feedback. We regret that your experience has been marred by what seems to be a rather big misunderstanding. Please refer to the points below - Minibus Seating - We had advised that the minibus does not have enough seats for 15 people, and it has a maximum occupancy of 13 people (11 people if there is luggage). We advised that you should book the minibus + a car for your tour of 15 people. However you chose to book just the minibus for your trip. We regret that it ended up being uncomfortable due to the over occupancy of the minibus. 10x Price - Our car/bus rental rates are possibly 10-30% higher than local prices (as these are hotel rates using our own vehicles), and not 10x the price as mentioned. We have advised that you could search for a local car/bus rental if you wish to find a cheaper rate, and we do allow guests to hire their own vehicles to pick them up from the hotel. Waiting Time - As you confirmed for the trip only at the time which you wanted to leave (~10am), our bus at that point of time was refueling, hence there was a short wait of 10mins before your trip started. We regret the short wait. Usually when trips are confirmed the day before or hours before the set-off time, they should be no delay. Once again, we regret that the trip became unpleasant due to these misunderstandings. Edmund Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort

Relaxing and rejuvenating stay at Bintan Spavilla.

Communication on WhatsApp prior to the trip is very helpful in getting things organised. The land transfer arrived promptly to picked us and the staff are polite and friendly. Check-in is seamless with June and there are sofa lounges around to wait. We booked one of the water villa, and it look exactly like the photos with a spectacular view of the sea while soaking in the warm pool in the balcony.

Bedding is good and comfy, slept through the night which seldom happen when traveling to a foreign place; a/c with ceiling fan is my fave comb as it is cooling yet well ventilated.

Next morning, breakfast starts at 7am and there is a good spread (eggs station, waffles, congee, rice, baked beans, salad station, hotdogs etc). Of course, additional items are always welcome like soup noodles, hashbrowns, pastries.

The dinner menu is not as extensive as shown on the website but there are choices for 1-2 meals at max; prices are resort style. Our recommendations are the gado gado, seafood fried rice and fish head curry.

Things to do - definitely go for the snorkeling trip to the floating kelong, Jack was very helpful and even brought underwater camera to help snap some pictures of us underwater. Kudo to him for trying many times to get the perfect shot. Haha! We are so hopeless with the snorkel gears. Definitely wake up early to catch the sunrise and stroll over to the island in the middle for a swing shot. More to do but we ran out of time at the resort, will have to come back again soon. Big thanks for the team hosting us during our stay.

Intially me and my wife had book a trip to Tioman paya beach resort bt one day before or depart, we was infd by the resort that the sea state was bad and there is no ferry services on the day of our arrival, we had to cancel the trip. As we had already book our leave, so we decided to give BINTAN SPA VILLA a try and it was a wise decision. The Bintan Spa Villa was really a gem to be discovered.
The tranquility of the place. We stayed in the Jacuzzi ocean front and we really love the room. Just need to open the balcony and there u can see the beautiful sea view and we get early to catch the sunrise on our balcony. The staff was super great, professional and prompt. The food was delicious and the price was not that expensive. There's nothing negative to say about this resort. Affordable and worth every the journey. We will surely be back for our next gateaway.

The Spa Villa Bintan offers great value overall for a family stay. There is a variety of things to do with kids, we were there for a three day weekend and didn't leave the resort at all. We stayed in the Deluxe Family with a family of four which is in a large building not a cabana, the size of the room was great and the balcony with seaview really large. The only caveat to the room is the bathroom was not that nice, with a very small shower and no window it had a musty smell. Since we didn't stay much in the room, it was manageable. They had everything we needed to entertain a 10 and 4 year old, a small swing set, swinging chairs and bean bags, kayaks and paddle boards for rent, lawn bowling, a nice wading and swimming pool, foosball table, movies at night, and several beautiful piers so you can walk out and enjoy the views. It's right on the beach, and while there is a sandy area in front of the swimming pool 90% of the beach is really more like a mud flat at low tide, teeming with hermit crabs and other wildlife. The resort doesn't pretend otherwise, advertising its low tide walk to a picturesque island with a set of swings as one of the main attractions. Because we have small kids, they loved it. The food was a highlight, everything we had was delicious, and the staff was great communicating about adjustments for my picky family which is handy as they don't have a kids menu. My husband and I traded turns getting massages and enjoyed them so much we each went twice.

It is my 3rd time here and every time I don't feel like leaving.
This time I stayed at the Pool Villa. Which I recommend as it value for money. The pool on the balcony is heated through out my stay. The bed was very comfortable and large. There also 2 sunbeds and a table and chairs on the balcony.
There is a TV in the room but I did not used it as we had our own devices to watch movies.
Service was excellent from the time we check-in which was a breeze till we departed. Staff were very friendly always smiling and ready to help.
There is enough activities on site to keep you occupied There is the Spa and a dive center which doubles up as a sea sports center.
Food was good again value for money. As we were there on a weekday and they were not so busy the chef made us noodle soup which was not in the menu upon request. Which I felt was a nice touch.
The best thing about Bintan Spa Villa is that it very cosy and relaxing.
I also like the little island just in front of the resort which you can kayak to or walk over when the tide gets very low.
I have already plans to return.

Lovely resort with great service. Picturesque with many fun activities available. It was our first time trying kite surfing and the guides were friendly and willing to put in the extra effort to make our experience a good one. Food is good, everything reasonably priced. We also enjoyed a trip to a nearby town, arranged by the resort. Highly recommend, we had a great time here.

Resort – it’s a place to which people go for relaxation or pleasure where it provides rest and recreation facilities.

We had it all! A group of seniors (ages 62-73years) spent 3D2N in this splendid BSR.

BSR has a fantastic location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, lushes’ plants, and the panoramic view of its surroundings, took our breath away, gave us the great first impression of the Resort. “Wow!”

Upon arrival, Lucas met up with us, and the warm reception given by the staff welcomed us to a very sumptuous lunch, which we all looked forward meal times – their excellent service & smiles shown on their faces, lightens the day.

We checked in to three different chalet settings, all expressed with excitement & gratitude to have such an opportunity to have clean, roomy, immaculate, & comfortable rooms.

The view from these three chalets were unique as each has a different angle of the wide-open sea. Recreation facilities caters for different age groups. As seniors, we enjoyed our bonding time with karaoke, spa, swim, sauna and our Ukelele jamming in a spacious meeting room.

Drawing the curtain of our stay, we had fireworks & since its Chinese New Year 2024, we wish the Management and Staff - Best Wishes, Prosperity, & Good Health. Keep the flag flying as we intend to make another trip.

I note the Qn was posted in 2018. But for those looking at this Qn now: book your ferry with Bintan Lagoon Resorts Ferries (you may also book the ferry thro Changi Recommends) - départs from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Arrive at Bandar Benta Telani (BBT) Ferry Terminal in Bintan. The resort provides free shuttle service from this terminal. But before leaving SG, email them your ferry timings at least 24 hours before departure to book your shuttle seat. Check the resort’s website for more details because the website provides details on what you need to do if you are only staying 1 night and what they can help you do if you stay at least 2 nights ~ for your return trip fm Bintan to SG.

Except the distance from the jetty (almost an hr), it would be perfect setting for babymoon. All the best for the baby.
